Adam and Queen continue their mini-tour with a concert at the “Rock in Wroclaw Festival“, at Municipal Stadium in Wroclaw, Poland. According to the band’s press conference on Thursday, this will be the first performance ever for Queen in Poland. The festival lineup includes Mona and IRA in addition to Queen. The show is scheduled to start at 6 PM Wroclaw time, with Queen expected to take the stage around 930 PM Wroclaw time (830 PM London time, 330 PM Eastern time, 1230 PM Pacific time).

I hope that WWTLF is released here as a single. I hope they play Madison Square Garden for 10 shows. I think they could sell out 10 shows. Gaga did 3-4 and could have sold more.

My psychic prediction: Adam is going to become a sensation. He will be THE talked about thing in London, the UK. He’ll be the new “it” celebrity. The Freddie comparisons will go go crazy. He’ll be stalked by UK paparrazi. It will be NUTS!

The headlines over there can be quite scandalous.
MY predictions:
1. After the last London concert, Brian and Roger will be so stimulated creatively, they will start writing new songs intended for Adam’s voice. They will bring Adam in on the collaboration so he will get song-writing credit.
2. Queen will plan two or three US performances to gauge interest here. If they don’t video on of the London performances to sell as DVDs, perhaps they will film one of the US performances.
3. While Adam is touring for Trespassing, on the European leg he will find time to get in the studio with Queen to work on an album collaboration with old and new music. You KNOW he has to record Who Wants to Live Forever sometime. That song might have been written just for him only Brian didn’t know it at the time!
4. Adam wins multiple grammys for his album, Trespassing, and awards for his thought provoking videos.
5. Adam becomes the hot guest to have on all of the talk shows, music awards shows, and will have opportunities to act in guest appearances in TV series.
6. Adam FINALLY gets to host SNL.

I thought that same thing when I listened to it. There were so many people singing along at the beginning. He is mesmerizing. It’s a wonder Brian remembered to play. He keeps sounding better and better.

The Elmo jacket reminds me more of boas,,,kinda feathery rather than fur. Adam loves his jackets and he always loved his boas! Surprised about the color red, though. Probably the only color it came in.

Bottom line, I just am not able to like most of Queen’s music. Never liked rock, and like it even less now.
I do like The Show Must Go On (just ‘cos Adam is so wonderful singing it) and Crazy Little Thing Called Love (‘cos it’s a cool little song).

I personally like Under Pressure a lot, and I was not familiar with these songs except for the Elvis version of Crazy Little Thing…and except for WWRY and WATC, which every sports fan knows. I had never heard of Bohemian Rhapsody until Adam auditioned for AI!

I think it is the solo guitar work that annoys me. If we could leave that out I would like it better.
All the Queen songs will say she when referring to a love interest, as that was the time. Adam is singing them as written which is what I think he should do, as he is performing Queen songs with Queen.
He can always think of “girl” or “she” as a gay dude!

I rather think that it would be a wonderful gift to Freddie Mercury’s memory for Adam to sing what Freddie likely wanted to but couldn’t.
Or perhaps to sing them as Freddy had to is more of an hommage.
Or maybe it just ain’t that deep.
It’s funny, after Kiev, the songs I keep going back to are Dragon Attack and Under Pressure. And now, Adam decides to make a show out of Dragon Attack. Which really is a “lesser” known Queen song. I have a feeling that when selecting the set list, there was some discussion of what Adam likes. And, this year he has been talking so much about a “funky” “slinky” “stanky” vibe. Dragon Attack is perfect.
I remember when he went to the Prince show thinking about how that would influence his album…
Love Of My Life is written for a woman. Many of the love songs were written by other members of Queen too. I would need to look up the credits, I’m sure it’s at Wiki, but every Queen member wrote songs. And they all sang them. Freddie had a love interest for many years who was a woman. They remained very very close until his death. She managed his estate after his death. They did stop their intimate relationship after a time, and Freddie lived more as an openly gay man then. He was always out. Look at the video for I Want to Break Free. Can anyone even imagine someone doing a video like that nowadays?
So, “she” is intentional. It is the lyric. Adam sang “he” in Fever partially because it was written that way, and to make a point.
I don’t think Adam intends to change Queen lyrics, I don’t think he would/should dare. The Queen songbook is rock and roll legacy. To mess with it would be “blasphemous”. IMHO.
