    I just don’t think that Newton guy got it…….Adam is the reason that Brian (and Roger) has that sheer joy…

    I respect everyone’s opinion. Music is so personal for everyone and we all have different taste.
    With that being said, as a long time Queen fan I was apprehensive about this “new guy” from American Idol ,of all places, stepping in as the Frontman for Queen. I had no idea what to expect but figured that Brian May and Roger Taylor wouldn’t ask just anybody to do this, so this kid must have something. Truthfully I didn’t expect much but I went to the concert in Kiev and couldn’t believe my ears. This guy, Adam Lambert, who I quickly googled after the performance, really blew me away. I was astounded by his voice and he hadn’t even had much practice with the guys at that point. I again saw them in England in 2012 and was once more impressed. Of course he has a different voice than Freddie…obviously, he’s not an impersonator…but his voice is magnificent. He put a slightly new spin on some of the songs, sang the Hell out of them and made many, many die hard Queen fans in that audience believe again. And the best part, you could see how happy Brian and Roger were…how much fun they were having once more. Like in the old days. Never saw that with Paul Rodgers. Paul Rodgers was never a good fit. He tried too hard to BE Freddie and fell very short. That’s why the tour with him was not successful. Lambert doesn’t do that at all. He doesn’t have to. His talent is just as great. And, I firmly believe that someday he will be considered just as important to the music scene.
    No one liked Freddie in the beginning either…he had to put up with some pretty harse critics as well. Goes to show there are always nay sayers and stubborn opinionates who won’t let themselves open up and just enjoy.
    The way I look at it, life is too short to not at least be open to new ideas, new eperiences. Give someone/something a chance. If it’s not for you, it’s not for you and move on. But don’t put yourself in a box and say only this square will do. You will miss out on life.

    Loved your recaps-mieps & twilight.

    rainbowgal…Since I don’t live in Dallas, I’m not sure of hotels in the area, but will look into it. Except for the W hotel where we plan to meet for a drink pre- and perhaps post-concert. That’s the only plans we have going. The W is right across the street from the AA Center.
    I’m going to be in town with my daughter with the expected arrival of our new granddaughter that week. So my time away will be limited.

    lol cher! You always do good by us, starting when you got me my M&G back at the Hard Rock. How many years ago was that?

    I leave on Friday and I am in the middle of running around trying to get ready for my trip, totally disorganized, for a change. I think something is distracting me. Oh the anticipation , and the worry about which camera to bring, and can I sneak in one with a zoom lens

    I also want to thank everyone for the photos, vids, recaps, comments, etc. Every one adds to the vicarious experience. I probably won’t be able to watch much while I will be ith friends and family before the Toronto concert, so I will have catching up to do when I get home.

    And HK Fan, thanks for bringing over that comment from the Queen fan. It says it all!

    Must run now and get my toenails painted cherry red
