Speaking of fun kids: I have my two grand-daughters staying for the next few days (they’re 9 and 6) and the 6 year-old loves Queen and can sing along to most of the songs. So……..I played her a few of the concert videos and she now loves Adam Lambert and thinks he’s got much nicer clothes than Freddie, LOL. One convert at a time; now I have to work on her parents, who still think I’m pretty ridiculous in my fangirling about Adam

Overall good review, but, once again, reviewer obviously thinks Adam fell off the turnip truck and lucked into Idol. Idol did give him the platform, but, etc., etc., etc.
angelowal, I hear ya. I played Trespassing for my granddaughter when she was 8 during some crafting we were doing, and for the next 6 months it was practically the only music she wanted to hear. Boy, was I busy stifling some mighty big grins when she would ask for it all the time, and the rest of the family would have to put up with another round of her favorites (Trespassing, Cuckoo, Pop That Lock, amongst them)at our house, in the car, everywhere!. And the collateral positive was that my husband actually started to like some of the music. But he’s a sweetheart, and I can’t find much of anything to criticize, truth be told.

Since I couldn’t make it to the Vancouver show. I sold my tix with big help from mieps to a guy in Canada. In all the email exchanges, I asked him if he was a Queen or an Adam fan. He said Queen and he didn’t know Adam at all. I asked him if he could let me know afterwards how he liked it. Here is his response.

As promised, here are my impressions of the concert last night. It was awesome! Adam Lambert did a great job. I appreciated the fact that Roger Taylor was as showcased as Brian May, as an original member. He did lots of singing and even a song alone while Brian May and Adam Lambert were taking a break. Also, Freddy Mercury sang a few times via archive recordings, which was pretty cool.
Anyways, I hope you get to see them later on the tour.

My memories about attending the We -are- Glamily tour are fading fast but I still remember how I could not move, not only because there were many people standing around me.. but because I was so mesmerized by his beauty, his enthusiastic expression and just the fact that he was real and in my backyard (just around 10 km from my place)… not just some 2D image on a screen beaming from another continent…
and this was the 2nd time I saw him live… and he still has this effect on me…

This report is brought to you from the Two Parrots in Vancouver, with great rock music playing continuously for the many hours (and several pots of coffee) it took to write this recap. So, you better enjoy it!

After picking twilight up at the airport we drove straight to Stanley Park, which is Vancouver’s Central Park. It was drizzling, so we couldn’t really walk anywhere, and it was too early to check into the hotel.
Our hotel was only blocks away from Rogers Arena, so we wouldn’t have any trouble getting there! Mieps spoke with Calgary and e-mailed with Gammaglam to see if there would be a chance to meet up, but it seemed we were too spread out within the downtown before the show.
Twilightmagic, mieps and Bart (mieps’ son of 23) had dinner before the show at Rosies, right next to the hotel. We really missed Al being there, but we toasted to him… and to us… and to all of you… and to our upcoming magical show.
with our glasses of a simulation of Belgian white beer which the restaurant happened to have. This turned out to be a really good thing, because twilight (not used to drinking) now floated to the arena. 
Also it made us lose track of time and to our dismay we realized it was 7:15 pm already! And we had planned to get there early to be the first ones in line!! Our new situation, however, turned out to work really well. To our delight there were NO line-ups to get in. We had a look at the merchandise and twilight bought a beautiful T-shirt and a programme. On the way to our seats there where stairs everywhere!!! We went up and down and up again. It was ridiculous!
Once in the arena it was a breeze to find our seats – just walk all the way to the front! First row!! I heard a discussion of a lady with one of the security guards that they had purchased front row and now found out that an extra row of chairs was placed in front of them. Needless to say she was extremely disappointed. We just kept quiet, secretly thinking na na na na boo boo. (We were under the impression that she was one of the more ‘entitled’ fans, not because of what she said, because I would be pissed too, but I think I’ve seen her in pictures.)
A little later Calgary had come to look for us! It was great to have a nice little chat.
And then…
Smoke erupted, hyping the crowd with anticipation – until THEY came on stage, which left us speechless. Adam in all his glory, right smack in front of us!!! We’ve never been that close, and it was unbelievable.
I had my camera in my hand, and the security guard in front of me said I couldn’t film or take photos. WTF???? Of course everyone was doing it, and so did I, but because he had addressed me personally, I kept feeling uneasy about it.
Being in the front row was unbelievable, because you could really see the effort to make the show cohesive, and how attention was given to detail. For example, Adam’s boots when he came out. The back heel was gold-plated and he looked fierce and fabulous.
The downside of being in the front row was that we couldn’t see the action on the small stage (couch anyone?). Luckily we had one of our spies on the floor in row 21, who was perfectly situated for video and photos, but at this point in time we haven’t seen those yet. But we as sure as shit WILL!!
Seeing him up close, he really looks very fit, like a mannequin – except he moves
Also, he wasn’t wearing his fringe for Killer Queen, and he fiddled with his sound mic pack, so maybe that was the reason for the missing fringe. Luckily it didn’t affect his performance. The last champagne spray of the three, was really impressive. Mieps likens it to a header ball by a football player (world football 
that is, not American (– hup Holland!!)), twilight can’t get over the fact that it covered a quarter of a horizontal circle. She was extremely impressed how much his mouth can hold.
Somebody To Love was spectacular! Also, his banter came across spontaneously.
He again asked for VIP-seating-on-the-stage participation and one of the ladies actually sang back at him! She was a good sport, and sang a fair bit. How can you refuse his request when those eyebeams are aimed at you? Then he proceeded to tease Spike by pounding some keys and then, shortly after, Brian joined him. A great unplanned, spontaneous moment which was evident from their faces. They were so enjoying themselves. We felt extremely privileged to be witness to this.
At one point, maybe after I Want It All, he did a ‘he-man’ pose, which mieps failed to capture on camera! Gr@*&#
!! It was truly an Adonis moment. Outlines of all his muscles were visible, twilight was gobsmacked. Now just let’s pray that SOMEONE captured it. It was a sight to behold. Who knew he was hiding that under all the layers of clothing!
Bohemian Rhapsody was fantastic and met with a loud roar. The girls behind us commented on how good he sounded.
While they were off stage at the end the noise was deafening, and it was fabulous to be part of that.
During the encores he looked stunning in his bedazzled leopard suit.
The audience participation was really fantastic. It seemed more than in Edmonton, but there I was in the back and in Vancouver I was in the front, so people were singing toward me and that could have something to do with it.
The most beautiful thing is that Brian and Roger were positively glowing.
They were sooo happy with us that they bowed twice!!!
