On the stairs –
Has any one already noted that neither Brian nor Adam tweeted thanks to Toronto audience for coming out last night?
D’ya think they’re ticked that the crowd wasn’t rowdy enough or that we had turd reviewers in Toronto? Sorry,I’m a bit fuzzy, just took sleeping pill since some folks were lolling all over my bed when it was beckoning me last night and I had to stay up to enjoy your delightful company. Now I’m maybe not running with a full deck……..g’nite, eh.
We Have the left-over closed bottles saved for our next wingding on the 28th, so start to think of options during your next visit Gone now………. You’re all such special people……….
If I read one more time that “Adam Lambert is no Freddie Mercury” you won’t see another post from me again because I will have jumped out the window.
I think that it’s become the obligatory thing reviewers feel they have to preface before they alienate all Freddie Mercury fans.
Let’s flip that … Freddie Mercury was no Adam Lambert.
To me, Freddie’s voice was … how do I put this? … raw with rough edges. Whereas, Adam’s voice is … trained with smooth edges.
I think that’s the difference. Freddie was great, no question, his voice was a natural gift, and he just threw it out there for everyone and it was thrilling!
But Adam is a trained singer who throws his voice out there too but Adam knows how to use it and how to control it.
I don’t know if I’m making any sense but I’m going to post this anyway.

Yes, noticed that, angelowal – see what they do for Montreal.
You make perfect sense, Ron – except, of course, when you post the same thing three times – lol.
Thought you just wanted to emphasize your thoughts there – with which, of course, I agree completely. The sloppy writing now is just humorous – can’t even get annoyed any more – just drop a little stink bomb in a review now and then – great fun.
Well, that’s a first! Same post appearing 3 times in a row.
Just wanted to explain the other two dots below mine.
Hi angelowal!
I wasn’t one of the lollers so who was?
Who lolled on you?!
Well, it was hard to end things. It was hard to say goodbye. It was hard to realize that everything that we’d been anticipating and waiting for … was over.
In spite of all the cheering, and it comes across on YouTube as very loud, I thought it was kind of tepid from my seat. The woman sitting next to me never applauded once throughout the whole show!! Not one time.
When Brian said at one point, “You all sound so great”. I thought, “Really? You’re just being polite”.
There was lots of enthusiasm but I think that they’ve played to better crowds.
The lack of tweets kind of, maybe, confirms that.
It didn’t spoil my time!! But I do think that the Toronto audience was quieter than their previous audiences.
Hi eywflyer, AL!
The BOLD option is not working. No wonder people are having problems with it.
I BOLDED both of your names manually.
It should automatically be this with the word or phrase in between:
Instead, it’s this with a word or phrase in between:
So everyone who has apologized for a “bold fail” … it’s not your fault.
ETA: Uh, oh! My examples of why BOLD isn’t working didn’t work!! Argghhh!
It does work sometimes but it’s not consistent.
Hi Ron!
Can’t wait to see you in 12 days!
Tomorrow, I’m off to adamized‘s house for the night, then we will be headed to Philly on Wednesday with mmm222. There we will pick up cwm from the airport and on to the concert!
Then MSG on Thursday! Can’t wait to see everyone there!
I don’t even know where to start.
My trip started out with a huge delay in leaving O’Hare, of course after waking up at 4 AM to even get to Chicago, it started raining on my way down , no big deal, a little rain right? Crap, a 3 and a half hour delay with 4,yes 4, gate changes in one of the world’s biggest
crapholesairports. The main thought that kept me okay was ” I’m on my way to see my ALL friends, I’m on my way to see ADAM and Queen.”So, as Ron wrote, I got to the hotel just in time to change and freshen up for about 60 seconds before hoofing it to dinner.
Before I get to a dinner recap, when I got into the room, I noticed two things, a huge box of gorgeous individually wrapped, tied up in black and white ribbon, decorated cookies just like the Queen cake we saw from pre-show parties in LA, tweeted by Priscilla Presley. The second thing was a sweet note from my roomie luval, about how to get to the party!!
But, I didn’t need to go by myself, because just as I was changing clothes, there she was!! Yay!! So we walked over there the couple of blocks, and got in, and turned a corner, and there HE was!! RON!!!!!!! All tall thin gorgeous and decked out like a celebrity.
Needless to say those long arms had me in a hug I will never forget! It was like hugging an old friend who I had known forever and seen a thousand times. I’m getting ferklempt typing this, and I haven’t even gotten to the best part. The food. LOLOL
There have been other recaps, but, I will tell you this, that ” go around the table” was unbelievable. The stories, the laughter, what a warm and friendly time.
Meeting Cher was so hilarious, I just don’t have words. She is human energy, so funny and engaging, so generous, so full of personality. Her story about being in LA next to Sutan, Tommy, Terrance, Danielle, Sauli, and Johnny had us falling over with laughter. TJR spilling his beer all over her, over and over and over, her shoes were soaked!! Talking with Johnny about his Jamaican and Asian background, interacting with Sauli trying to take a decent picture, how Sauli was so funny and helpful and didn’t mind trying to get that picture right for Cher at all.
Meeting rs, who instantly became one of my favorite people in the world, as if she weren’t already, we have talked so much in private emails, it was just a bonding time.
Dinner sitting between luval and Ron and rs, was sublime. All the people there. Just wonderful. Then luval and I collapsed in our respective beds.
Next morning, had breakfast at Fran’s, which, to me , isn’t the best breakfast joint I’ve ever visited ( guess I’m a breakfast snob, having been a waitress at an Original Pancake House in high school and college), but filled our bellies, it POURED, sideways, but, LOLOL, the people eating outside on the patio weren’t getting wet, by some freak of nature and umbrella placement, so luval, a lovely lurker from Toronto, and I waited out the rain, and had cup after cup of coffee. Followed by a walk around the St. Lawrence Market area, which was soooo nice.
I am quite impressed by Toronto. It is so clean, beautiful, and just people pleasing. The architecture, the plazas, parkways, public art, renovated buildings, it is a city I want to visit again.
The afternoon was filled with resting, socializing at the party hosted by Ron, Northern Spirit, Angelowal, and TLKC.
There were many fans from the Toronto groups, and many ALL’ers, it was just wonderful.
Ron was dressed to kill. His shoes alone almost did me in. His “shirt” was fabulous, so stylish, so sophisticated, and combined with his silver spiked hair, he really looks like a movie star.
Luval and I retreated to our room to rest, change into concert clothes, and have a little room service. How indulgent!!
Then, it was all about getting to the show. After many arrangements, who was walking,, meeting where, laughing, mix-ups, and confusion, we all kinda followed TLKC and her sister to the venue through a lot of construction zones and literally thousands of people on the streets of Toronto.
We finally got there, and TLKC said, I kid you not, ” Oh, I think we may have taken the long way.” No shit Sherlock!! Oh well, I was slightly “dewey” to say the least. Have I mentioned the humidity and the size of my hair yet??? Have I even mentioned that my hair may have obscured the view of the show last night?
So, we’re there!!!!!!!!!
The big sign is on outside the venue, and it is scrolling through events and ads. Every time the Q+A sign is on, the crowd is roaring. Oh wait. That was just me. Hahaahaha.
As luck would have it, a handsome man and his wife were right in front of me and TLKC, and he is putting on a wristband, that said he could enter early and GO BACKSTAGE PRE-SHOW.
My eyes bugged out. He was so nice. He told us how he is a Meadows-Taylor, and that he is related to Roger ( Meadows Taylor ) and has never met him before. He had an English accent, was soooo nice, and put up with TLKC’s goings on about Adam!! Anyway, I joked and asked if he could take us with him, he had never heard Adam sing, but had heard good things, and I wished him well meeting his cousin. Then they rushed inside. Gah. That is two times I have met people who were going backstage to meet members of the band. And this time it was Roger himself. The way I see it, they were both lucky, because this guy was very nice, very handsome, and probably had a ball that whole night.
Dear nkd
You get to see adamized again?!??
After the wonderful time I just had here in Toronto seeing and being with everyone, I have some nerve to be jealous but I am.
But then, we’re talking about a very special lady whom I sat next to on a make-shift blanket for 3 hours with our backs against a chain-link fence with scorching heat in a dirt field in some unheard of place called Ste.-Agathe. A special lady who also wanted me to have a special necklace that, when I put it on, I’ve never taken off. And, I never will.
You had a “little something” to do with that too nkd and 12 days can’t go by soon enough until I see you again!!!
A new grand-daughter, your travels, friends, the concerts! I’m so very happy for you!
Wow! I can actually say, “See you soon”.

Another great Toronto review: This guy gets it!
http://www.lithiummagazine.com/queen-adam-lambert-%E2%80%93-air-canada-centre-toronto-%E2%80%93-july-13-2014
Now I’m Here:
The venue is very nice, clean and spacious, the merch and tour books are easy to buy, so we did.
We get to our seats, and they are close, much closer than I thought they would be.
Moment of full disclosure: On that tense, anxiety filled morning of March 10th, when I was buying two groups of four tix each for two venues in two time zones with pre-sale VIP codes, I completely, and I mean totally, forgot that several weeks before I had put a freeze of sorts on purchases over 100 bucks due to a credit card scam of sorts. And, honies, I was spending , erm, more than a hundred smackers that day.
So, I’m on-line buying, or TRYING to buy tix for Toronto, and it just wouldn’t go through……when it hit me, OMG!!!! I need to call my credit card and tell them “it’s me” let me buy these tix, the little red count down is going to expire!!! And it did. And my heart almost stopped beating, and I was panicked because people were depending on me…so I lost those tix. Row 2. Row 2. But, while I was on the phone with the very nice lady who was trying hard for me, our row 7 seats popped through, and I quickly nabbed them. I felt like a failure, I thought , shit shit shit, Row 7 is a FAIL. I really did. But, a after a lot of deep breaths and some self-talking, and I realized, that row 7 is awesome.
So, we’re in. The purple curtain is glowing. The arena is thumping and humming with that Queen pre-show thing they do, it’s like sonic waves of a heartbeat that vibrates. Or a spaceship coming in to land. ( I think that when the Q is lowered it’s a spaceship reference ). Brian is an astrophysicist after all.
Our seats are incredible. Gay Queen die hards behind us. Very skeptical about Adam. Looking at us Glamberts like we’re aliens. Up front it’s an even mix of Glamberts and Queen die hards.
So, I get chummy with this gal security guard. She’s out-going and when I asked her if she liked Queen, she said yesss, and when I asked her if she knew or liked Adam, she literally, lowered herself into a squat whilst saying ” I f**xcking looooove Adam Lambert!!”
I knew we had security guard gold at that moment. OMG. My wheels started turning.
I quietly and politely pointed with my finger close to my chest so as not to attract attention, right at the thrust, and asked in hushed tones, ” Is there any chance of getting close to THAT?”
Be still my beating heart, she said, yes. You just need to stand on the rubber floor mat right next to the barricade, and wait for the lights to go down, “I’ll give you a signal.”
I went and sat like an angel, keeping mum, only telling my fellow ticket holders, hahaha Cher, asking me if I’ll behave, hell no, so the thumping gets louder, purple curtain is glowing more, the curtain is blowing with fans, there is movement behind it, lights go down, I look at her, she points, I RUN , plant my feet on the rubber…my hands on the barricade, and BAM!!! Showtime folks!! NOW I”M HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rs, TLKC and Northern Spirit are too!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are right smack in the middle of the lazy Susan. The only thing between me and Adam is a moat with techies and security guards. I figure it’s three feet of moat and a couple of feet of stage between us. DED DED DED DED

Congrats and much love to angelowal and Northern Spirit for the wonderful party they put together on Sunday. Thanks so much. You are the best!
No worries – they were probably tired and busy getting ready to drive all night. Three concerts in a row is no picnic. How could they be ticked with us, anyway? Did you hear the sing along to LOML on the videos?
BTW, I saw the trucks pulled up at the back of the ACC right after I left the party at 12:30 a.m. Love seeing that + Adam Lambert tagged on the end of Queen.
Sorry about the longer walk to ACC mils. Took people to the far door when there was a perfectly good one on the east side and it’s a big venue.
Or we were too enraptured to abandon the moment and communicate with the outside world? Honestly, guys, we shouldn’t be experiencing performance anxiety – we are the audience.
For the record, the fans listening to the live feed on queenonline complained about how loud we were. One fan said the sing-along in LOML was affecting the feed. It’s all a matter of perspective and, imho, Queen was great and we were great. And Adam was amazing.
Blockquoting myself!
No TLKC, the lack of tweets from Brian and Adam after the show.
One or both often, not always but often, will thank … fill in the city … if they had a good time and thought the audience was exceptional.
Unless I missed it, there was no such tweet from either about Toronto.
It’s a 4 hour drive and it takes 10 seconds to type “Thanks Toronto”.
j/s
TLKC, no worries! Knee is holding up fine.

The show:
We have been re-capping this whole tour, what makes this show special for me is that being so close, being with the people I was with, sharing this with them, seeing young Queen die hards turned to complete jelly by Adam, seeing people bond over music, it’s something I have never seen with any other band, any other performers, this is unique. To me.
I’ve never been a Dead-Head, but know many, I know people who are total Phish groupies, and travel and tour like we do, but, I don’t know if they feel the same. Maybe they do, but, I will tell you, after being at two shows with great seats, and in the midst of true Queen fans, this was by far, the best musical experience I have ever had. It goes beyond music, it enters a realm of pure feelings and emotions.
To me, that Q descending onto the stage is like a spaceship taking me somewhere else.
There were moments during the show I’ll talk about.
The Now I’m Here, curtain rising, Adam entering, me blowing a two handed big kiss at him, and knowing he saw me and looked right at me, gawd, those eye beams still slay me, that huge pelvic thrust at the end of Stone Cold Crazy, riding his bike, popping on screen for In The Lap of the Gods with the fringes, but being so close I didn’t need the screen, he was right the frack in front of me, the COUCH.
The couch: OMG. We had a side view, the back of his head and shoes were seen best, rs and I wanted to just reach up and stroke the back of his head and neck, the spitting, we knew glamberthaf28 was right there in the spit zone, the playfulness with Brian, we were swooning.
The glory note in STL: left us gasping for air, Queen fan next to me was fist pumping and losing his shit, un-be-lieve-able.
The poise, the stance, the fringe TWIRL TWIRL TWIRL in those heels, holy moly, crowd going nuts. Absolutely nuts.
After STL, big burly security guard next to me tapped me on the shoulder to tell me this was the best thing he’s ever seen. He began handing me his camera to take pics since he is not allowed to.
Brian May going down the catwalk: I blew him a huge two handed kiss, he smiled right at me, looked me in the eyes, I cannot believe it. Brian May!!
Love of My Life, rs with her arm around my shoulders, the two of us swaying and having a moment, so sweet, so tender, that song is pure emotion and feeling.
The bass, guitar, drum solos: Very fun, very good, Roger drumming on Neil’s bass, wow, loved it so much. The solos seemed longer, Adam had a lot of time to change clothes, drink tea and even nap!! LOL Had a good close up look at both Roger’s tats and Rufus’. Rogers have a lot of red coloring.
WWTLF: Bathed in the lasers, swaying with rs, touch my world with your fingertips, I was almost in tears.
Love Kills: Adam had his back to us most of the song, and I got a super dooper gaze ogle stare survey of the man from head to toe, every freckled finger, every ring, every stitch of that shimmery pants lacey shirt and vest combo, his belt, his sound pack tucked into his back pocket, the stance of his fingers while performing, he feels it down to his fingertips, so PERFECT. Not to mention : Very nice tushie. The man is thin and toned, not an ounce of fat, not an ounce wasted. Stunning. Simply stunning.
Every time he turned or gave us a profile, I was breathless. I’ve been up close to see him before, but, this “presentation” of the man, in this setting, with these musicians, this lighting, this music, the combination is out of this world. Magnificent is the only word I can think of anymore. Magnificent.
I must also comment about his fluidity when he walks. We’ve seen him strut. This a a saunter a stroll a grace to his walk that exudes confidence and sexuality like he’s a tiger or a lion hunting his game. It’s a control. So sexy I can’t even talk about it on a blog. Oozing sex from every pore of his being.
Another costume change.
The RED shirt. I’m ded. Weak in the knees. rs and I are groaning. Groaning I tell you. That shirt is unreal. Best thing he’s ever worn. The fit, the fabric, the tailoring, the large crystals on it, so beautiful, but so masculine at the same time, OMG. The red shirt. (( looks at heaven )) Thank you.
Looking at the production of BoRhap: Watching Adam’s poses, postures, his performance is so much more than vocal here, it’s acting and grand and huge. Those arms and that neck, he becomes longer and taller and stretches himself in the “presence” of Freddie.
The finale: That suit up close is majestic. The fabric, cut, and crystals again make it unique. The chest. OMG. Sweaty freckled and gingery, delicious. Simply delicious.
Glitter shower, it’s in my hair, stuck to my skin, loving it all.
Many bows, extended hugging, Roger appears ferklempt, Adam leading them in theatrical bowing, Brian smiling. That man is smiling so much these days. Done.
I know there’s more. But, honestly, this was one of the best nights of my life .
Love, love, love the recaps Mils
http://wiltonsaid.com/blog/blog/queen-adam-lambert
Here’s some more random thingzes:
We were told that we were on the big screen when Brian used his guitar cam!! Coolz!
After landing in Toronto and starting through customs, one of the first people I saw, not Glamberts, people I saw was our very own Glamberthaf, we had met before at a couple of shows, she was with a couple of girlfriends, and we Berted a bit and shared a ride to our hotels. That was quite nice. I gifted them some jewelry. That’s how she knew about our dinner, and she ended up joining us for a pop in visit.
So many times of just talking to people in the hotel, on the street, around town, about the show, before and after. Mainly Queen fans of many ages, often an Adam fan, not a single one who wasn’t in awe of Adam.
I asked one guy on Monday morning in the lobby of the hotel what he thought of Adam’s couch and camp, he loved it, said it was spot on perfect for Queen. I asked him if he would ever see just Adam singing his won music, he said he would buy Adam’s music for sure.
The hawkers outside the venue: Man, this would be sooo illegal in my city/state. They were selling cheap knock-off t-shirts and art. To be honest, the art was pretty good. If I had a place to hang it without the sneering of my family, I would have bought some. They had a few things of Adam that were nicely done. There were also scalpers there with tickets. They arrest scalpers outside venues here.
Thank you so much to the hosts of the pre-show and after-show get together. The food, drink and company were top notch. Thanks to angelowal for the licorice allsorts, she had no idea how much I love black licorice, allsorts especially, and being British, she had the real ones. Yummmy.
It was so wonderful to connect with those of you I hadn’t met before, and to see those of you again. It’s so wonderful to be naughty, free, open, and able to just speak our minds about music, celebrities, even politics and not feel the repercussions we often feel with friends and family. This is such an open-minded and accepting group of people, it truly is a joy. We had some great laughs, some eyebrow raising moments, and some great music. And our boy, delivered. Brought it. Right in front of our eyes.

Now, THAT’s a recap, mils – had me hangin’ on every word – the descriptions! – just monumental. A zillion thanks.
LOL, you could tell who the Adam fans were, after the show scooping up the gold confetti!! Queen die hards don’t give a shit about glitter. LOLOL
Forgot to add, the burly security guard gave me his set list. Don’t Stop Me Now wasn’t even there as an option. Too bad, I really like that song.
And, I don’t recall if they thanked Chicago. I’m gonna go look and report back.
ETA: Nope. He didn’t thank Chicago. He tweeted costume info. Now I don’t feel bad about not thanking Toronto.
Oh. Now he just thanked Montreal a minute ago. Hmmmm…

Thanks mils My experience in San Jose was starting to fad and you brought it back for me. I was standing pretty much in the same area row 6 seat 1
Glad you found the “no tweet” after chicago. That’s what I thought. I think it’s just a hit or miss. I don’t take it personally. The crowd last night just had more boisterous people. I thought Toronto was a huge success. And I think they did too.
Diana Eliza Mitchel @DianaEMitchel
@adamlambert At the Air Canada Center I got told I was way to loud during the concert. Did the person expect me to whisper during the music?
Oh geez ulti, that could have been me!! I got my way to the barrier, and a while later a young gal, about 25, was SCREAMING in a shrill sound, right in my ear while Adam was singing. I asked her to please not scream, her response was ” I guess you should have worn earplugs.” I found that so selfish, so insulting, so of her generation, that I was dumbfounded.
To me, when someone asks you nicely, you should self-assess, and stop your behavior, or tone it down. So, while Brian was playing his solo, I switched places with her, allowing her to be more on the neck of the thrust, and I moved back to rs in the circle of the thrust, telling her, “I’m being nice to you, you can move over here.” She just stared at me.
What really gets me also, is that she was recording, and screaming into her own recording. So I guess all she wanted was video, because her audio is a shrill scream, not Adam.
What a complete bitch. So, she is complaining to Adam?? Immature bitch.
That’s a stinkeroo, mils – if she’s a fan of Adam, she certainly hasn’t read his tweets – or what he’s all about. Dope.
Mils, y’all,
the screamer in Mils ear wasn’t @dianaemitchel. Diana was
in section 104. Row 16. Seat 5. Just looked at her twitter
account. Or Diana is lying.
hahaha – that’s so great, jlurksacto – Sherlock on the job!
Thanks jlurks, so whatever her name was, she has some serious growing up to do. I didn’t talk about it in Toronto, needed to just get past it. Her scream was actually hurting my ear. It was sooo shrill.

I’m not surprised mils. Saddened, but not surprised at all.
I can’t tell you how many times, because it’s too many times, where this is the situation:
I open a door to continue walking, through a mall or open a door to enter a store, but I see someone approaching. I don’t give this a second thought – I hold the door open for the person, stand there, and wait for the person to pass through. This is a common, or should be, a common courtesy.
Do you know how many people trouble themselves to say “thank you” or bother to respond with a simple nod and a smile.
Ron, we could talk about those kind of situations all day.
In a concert setting, people feel entitled because THEY bought a ticket , to do whatever they feel like doing. What they don’t realize is that I bought a ticket too. I would also like to enjoy the show. So, I thought that if I put some distance between myself and her it would just be better, and I took the high road. I did not want to start sparring with this selfish twit. So I offered her my spot, and moved back to rs and the others. Somehow I had worked my way up the neck of the catwalk, not on purpose, it was just moving and shifting people. I was right next to the guy in the bright yellow shirt you can see on videos. He was a massive Queen die hard, and was about 40 or so. Knew every word to Now I’m Here, Stone Cold Crazy and In the Lap of the Gods.
Anyway, it was much better back next to our rs. We could hug and sway together. Which was eons better than having a shrill screamer 6 inches from my ear.

A failed attempt obviously because … you’re still here.
Here we go again. I know, I know. I get this all the time.
Charles Laughton, right?
Everyone says the same thing.
Dear mils, thank you for your overly generous, so very thoughtful and kind words in your Toronto recap!
You’re a treasure my hello gorgeous girl.
Just FYI, Brian DID thank Chicago:
https://twitter.com/drbrianmay/status/479901339443421184
Seems sometimes they both do, or just one does, but found nothing from either for Toronto. Don’t think it’s due to anything in particular though. Audience was responsive and participating, I thought.
Love your recap, mils!
No. They expected you to shut the f**ck up and let them hear the show.
There. I said it.
Ron and risky
And here’s Adam’s thanks to Chicago:
