After a collective sigh of relief that the show did go on in Milan, Queen and Adam head to Stuttgart for their last show in Germany. Stuttgart is known as the ‘cradle of the automobile’ and is set among hills, valleys and parks which also makes it a great destination for tourists.
Show time at the Schleyerhalle is approximately 8:00 PM CET.

    No worries, Axxxel. At this point, it has become more of a joke But it’s my home town (very close by at least), so I do feel just a bit of longing because I can’t be there. But: I’m okay, I’m alright, ain’t gonna face no defeat. Big Smile (Like all of you I am a bit brainwashed from listening to these songs way too often…)

    Well, Adam really came back swinging after his disease. (I’m so glad!). I can relate to the post-disease euphoria: you are just so happy to feel better that you are extra-exuberant. Just wait til cher is back on her feet, she will be an unstoppable dynamo. Jump Dance Jump

    stuttgarter zeitung is the main local newspaper. They did a mini review, and will have a longer review tomorrow. The mimi review talks about an impressive and bombastic show, Adam better than Rogers, but “of course” can’t touch Freddy Mercury.

    I am getting sick of the Freddie comparisons too. He cant be compared to Freddie, Adam does his own thing, has his own style. He doesnt try to be Freddie so how can you even try to compare Adam to him?

    Dont understand it, really. I always tell my friends that Freddie was Freddie and Adam is Adam. Nothing to compare. Adam does one amazing, beautiful job singing the songs Freddie helped to create. But there is no need to compare one to the other.

    It unfair on both Freddie and Adam

    So true Cait. I wish that all Queen fans thought like you. I think that most, probably 99.9% of the people who go to the concerts, feel that way. It is just the ignorant or vocal few that are annoying. Or those who don’t even want to give Adam a try. When I was in New York I had dinner with a cousin a few days before the concert and he is an old time Queen fan. I told him that he should go to the concert. His answer: No….I think I will stick with Freddie. And another cousin in Toronto also didn’t go to the second concert after I raved about the first one. Just not really interested without Freddie it seems. Their loss. Now I really have to get started packing!

    Watched a few of the videos uptop and have some observations

    Killer Queen: He opens his legs at about 2:29 with this goofy look on his face. Looks like Brian sits on his fan 3:22. Love when Brian sits on the couch

    Lap of the Gods: At the beginning when he’s walking on from side at :20 he does a bend backward diva type pose. Love it.

    He really studies youtubes and thinks of ways to make them more creative.IMO

    About the “thread”. The picture says “doesn’t exist” but I noticed this before. Can’t remember where. The tat (and I think it IS one) sticks out of the vest…back shoulder area.

    I think it is just lazy journalism and a safe, non-committal thing to say for those who are unwilling or unable to review the actual performance. Observing and forming an opinion is kind of the reviewers’ job, but instead they revert to the set list and what is on wikipedia. Really not worth anybody’s time reading these types of reviews.

    I absolutely love that long video skaschep posted. It’s a keeper. Save me and WWTLF were incredible. Everyone around was silent for Save Me… great! The lighting in WWTLF is amazing from a distance.

    That Stuttgart review reminds me of a lot of the N. American reviews – all about “it’s not Freddie” and very little about the actual show, music or singer. Really not a good review at all.

    I didn’t like that article either. From what I could understand from the convoluted translation that I read, no matter how good Adam is, by definition, the show will be lacking because Freddie isn’t there.

    Will say: Even with an ever so good replacement Freddie Mercury Queen can only sound like their own cover band.

    And then wondering if Adam will remain faithful to the band, since previous front men didn’t Confused Huh? Maybe it was the translation, German is such a complex language, automatic translation has to be almost impossible, but I really have no idea what the reviewer thought of Adam and the concert. Oh wait! He wrote this before the concert! So did he go, and did he write something after the concert?

    It isnt even worth reading that Stuttgart review. OMFG they cant even write FreddIE correct. Ugh I cant believe the reporters really. It makes me so so mad reading something like that. Who the fuck got send to the concert and do a review? To me this person hasnt any clue whatsoever.

    This review is total bullshit, alone the writing is awful. I cant belive something like that is going to be placed in a big newspaper. I am so mad about that

    rs the translation was ok. It was definitely the reporter. In German this article sounds even more horrible. Confusing even, you dont understand what he wants to say. Just talking about what Adam said he is trying to do or not to do – imitating Freddie, then plastering the iHeartRadio-concert into the article, talking about the firsts performances with Queen. WTF really…he hasnt even seen the concert and is already talking about Queen being a coverband.

    Found another smaller article written directly after the concert. Its just a short review with a promise of more in the Saturday Print Newspaper. Posting just a short quote…dont even want to read the whole article after that one…

    He’s doing better than Rodgers – but of course he also does not come close to Mercury. How difficult this is going to make the evening? More on this on Saturday stuttgarter-zeitung.de.

    Cait, I think you and I are equally dismayed about these reviews from our native Germany. Just let it go. These reviews really mean nothing. The reviewer is just uninformed, too dense to get over his preconceived notions, and too chicken to take a real stance. So he writes what he thinks he should be writing.
