Queen and Adam Lambert end a spectacular 2014 by performing at the Central Hall Westminster as they “Rock Big Ben Live” on the BBC One’s New Years Eve special. The show starts at 11:15 PM and features a 40-minute set before 2015 and the fireworks begin. They are back at 10 minutes after the hour for a short 20-minute set. The show will be viewed by over 14 million on BBC One and streamed live around the world.

Ok, just got a chance to watch the whole concert. All I can say is WOW!! THAT WAS FANTASTIC!! Everything about it was wonderful and it came off flawlessly. Wow, what pros they are. Unbelievable.
And in other news, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!! I hope you ALL have a fabulous 2015!
Hi cwm! I just finished rewatching the first part and came here to see if you had checked in. Wasn’t it amazing?! And so many fantastic positive glowing tweets. I haven’t seen any official reviews yet, but I can’t imagine that they will be anything other than glowing, either.
I was thinking about the haters before I went to sleep last night. I really can’t understand them. With all the crap that passes for music these days, they should be happy that someone with a real voice is carrying their beloved Freddie’s tradition.
OK, back to finish part 2 of the concert with the last of my breakfast coffee.
Just watched again and the end was so sweet. Brian wanted to say something to the crowd. He was visibly moved, and he kept looking for a mike, but gave up when he couldn’t fight the noise from the crowd. And then Roger coming out with that hat, looking so much like Santa. He is the quiet one, but you know that he has a devilish sense of humor. And then when they were taking their bows, the boys trying to step back and give Adam center stage while at the same time he was stepping aside, pointing to Roger and Brian so that they would get the spotlight. I know that we have said it so many times before, but I just love the love and mutual admiration the three have for each other. And any true Queen fan, even if he hates Adam’s voice (if that is even possible) should appreciate what he has done for Brian and Roger.
Now to try to make an CD of the concert for my car. Wish me luck.

Axxxel , you couldn’t see the concert live? What happened? There are good downloads and I have been rewatching all morning, but the YouTube of the whole concert goes silent on part of BoRap, so I wouldn’t download that one.
I just keep rewatching vids and reading all the praise in twitter. It’s so numerous that I don’t know how and where to collect it all. So happy for Adam! Most of the praise I have read is from men. So many straight men give their appreciation, also about his looks
So many say screw the disbelievers, that was fabulous. I agree with you rs about the haters – if someone doesn’t want to watch/listen Queen songs with anyone but Freddie, it’s ok, but they could shut their mouths, watch old things and let Brian, Roger and rest of the world enjoy this great music live with the great new front man.
I’ve seen some tweets about peeps buying Adam’s CDs and loving them too…

TLKC, if you are here, I just went to the Queen Official site and liked at the comments for last night’s concert. There were only a few and they were all great except for one (maybe I was in the wrong place
) and that person (Meh) asked where the real Rock songs, like TYMD were, and suggested that the concert was geared to Adam’s voice. Someone should tell him that the concert was geared to a wide BBC audience and if he wants to see Adam rock out on those songs he should go to one of the full concerts. He won’t be disappointed. I know that you post on that site, so maybe you could enlighten him/her. Thanks

I absolutely LOVED the way he looked. The scruff is hot stuff. He was hotter than a pistol last night.
He glowed through the whole concert. I wasn’t prepared for how gorgeous he would look in professional HD video. And was he charming? OMG!!!!! He was making love to the entire audience – live and through the camera.
We were clapping our hands through Radio Gaga and cheering after every song. What a great way to open the New Year!
BTW, London really knows how to rock in the New Year. Those fireworks were something else. The NYC celebrations were anti-climactic, though nice.
The fan reaction is wonderful. Let’s see if someone with clout and connections on this side of the pond catches the show and decides that QAL are Super Bowl material. I know it’s a year away but…

Thanks to Brian, Roger and Adam for ending this awesome year with the unbeatable high that is this concert. WOW!
We were thinking about you, mils. I kept thinking that Adam’s sauciness last night was probably giving you and asif massive tingles and Ron wondered how ALL-ers were liking the scruff.
It would have been so nice to have you and tout le gang here. P took a lot of photos of us watching the concert and some arty, side-angle pics of Adam on the TV. We are reviewing a few to see if they are strategically “dark” enough to post on the blog without compromising anyone’s anonymity, lol!
Everyone arrived at abut 5pm. We stuffed ourselves with many, many hors d’oeuvres and lots of wine throughout the concert and sat down for dinner at 8pm. We rounded things out with a champagne toast and a New Year’s cake, brought by M and P. (P photo’d that as well.)
We had a bit of trouble connecting at 6:15 and missed DSMN and STL but, once we got it, the stream was solid and perfect. Half of us stood for the whole thing. Everyone was clapping to Radio Gaga and WWRY and every song ended in cheers – just as if we were there. (And, unlike the venue, we didn’t have a two-drink limit
).
We should have posted on ALL but my computer was being used for the stream and we settled for massive tweeting and re-tweeting in support of the huge moment that it was for Adam and Queen.
If the boy doesn’t get noticed now it won’t be for lack of trying on our part!
I think this one is “safe”.
