What is it about this song that makes me so inexplicably happy? I just love it. And check out the crowd!
And Under Pressure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kJxm6wBJBM
This song always makes me really happy too.
And Stone Cold Crazy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiXfgNE_pwM
I have really enjoyed cwm‘s vids, thank you so much! I love the close ones, but have really missed the ones with “my concert view”, including whole stage, light show and audience view. Wanna have both! I tried to do the same in Prague but didn’t succeed with sound…
Wow I think that those are one of the most beautiful pics I have ever seen of him. And not because of his unbottoned style lol
He is so intense in those. Beautiful!

Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone! Really glad you are enjoying the vids! It makes me very happy to be able to share back this time, given all of the joy and benefit I have gotten from other videographers.
Welp, I gotta go catch a plane now to Amsterdam for a work conference, and thus need to transition from a raving fangirl back into a respectable professional. Sigh. Wish I could fangirl a little longer!
I have a few more bits and pieces of video that I’ll upload tonight. Hopefully I’ll be able to put a recap together before long, too!
mmm222 and adamized left fairly early this morning for their long flight back home. Hopefully you’ll hear from them too when they come up for air.
Suffice it to say that we can’t believe that we all made it to Krakow for a QAL show together and are pinching ourselves at our good fortune! It was a blast!
Goodness, go out hiking for the day and come back to 2 pages of comments to catch up on!!!
Think I might have to catch up on your videos tomorrow cwm, but I’m glad you had such a great time.
Great review

ETA: Writer is a Queen fan and creates a huge admiration towards Adam during the concert
So glad cwm that you all had a blast! Waiting for your recap when you have time to jump back to fan girl mode, but you have already given so much with vids and little reports, that take your time !
Adamized and I are in the Frankfurt airport with a 4+ hour layover. We didn’t get much sleep last night, but are still high from the concert. Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes. That concert was the best birthday present ever! We loved Krakow too. It’s a beautiful city with lots of interesting historical sites and without the crowds we saw in Prague. We spent yesterday visiting cathedrals and touring the Wawel Castle, a huge medieval castle only two blocks from our hotel. We also managed to eat every Polish speciality we could get our hands on. Polish food is so tasty in marked contrast to the Czech food.
So while AL and Ron were stalking us on google street view, adamized and I were sticking to cwm like glue. She’s the Adam magnet. We figured that if we let her out of our sight for two minutes, she’d run into Adam without us. Of course, she was probably trying to ditch us thinking that we were Adam repellants. We eventually did see Adam…..on the stage at the Krakow Arena! I’ll be back in a few minutes with my concert recap.
Happy Birthday mmm222! So happy to get these little bulletins from Krakow and looking forward to your recap. You picked your cities well for this tour. Too bad about not seeing Adam; particularly sad about rs’s near miss in Prague. So near and yet so far. BUT you are getting to see Adam do what he does best.
Safe travels.
Ha ha! “It’s such a Brit lip, a barely split lip”.
Bri has a long way to go to match Adam in the tongue department. (He does have a heart of gold though.)
The Krakow concert was a real adventure from the time we left our hotel. We took took a very crowded tram to the venue and got off at the pink flying saucer, er, the Krakow Arena. And we were afraid we might miss the stop. The venue was absolutely packed, just like the Prague show. Packed like sardines on the floor, and every seat filled to the top of the arena. Our seats were to the left of the stage, slightly further from the stage than in Prague, but still very good. We were in the fifth row off the floor, but there was no row 1-4. Adam even turned around at one point during UP and blessed us with a view of his posterior in the gold pants again. This crowd was so enthusiastic, except of course, for the very understated cwm in concert mode. (Hahaha!!!). Everyone in the arena did a Mexican wave multiple times before the concert started. People were just going crazy, clapping, dancing, even feet stomping before the encore. The three of us were grinning the whole time. We must have been surrounded by Queen fans who were obviously loving the show, but were probably mystified by our cracking up and squealing at Adam’s classic antics and the very exciting addition of DA and TSMGO. Adam’s vocals were outstanding, just like they were in Prague. It was a fantastic concert made even more special by the fact we were sharing it in Krakow, of all places. The three of us thought we were crazy last summer when we drove four hours up and back to north Jersey in one day to see our 4th QAL concert in 8 days. Little did we know that Krakow was next!
Thank you for your recap mmm222 I guess we don’t need a magnifying glass to notice it was enthusiastic crowd I saw a Polish glambert tweeting that she was so pleased and relieved that they loved him – Polish can be a very nasty crowd too she wrote.
Safe travels home over the Atlantic!

Hi,
cmw, adamized and mmm222 I am so happy for your polish experience! and the recap and videos from one of the best QAL concert ever in KRAKÓW.
My theory why they played Dragon Attack:
There is a old legend about the Wawel dragon (the plush green toy they got after WATC)
https://twitter.com/AdamLambertGifs/status/569555370164789249/photo/1
Someone shared with them, i think
Wawel castle, Krakow, Poland
In Poland, a long time ago, in a den at the foot of Wawel Hill, there lived a terrible dragon. None of the inhabitants of the city Krakow from the poorest beggar to His majesty King Krak didn’t know where it had come from and how it got there.
Everyone always trembled with fear. Always having the scary thought that the knigths guarding the dragon made their hair stand on end when they heard the monster roar. People said there was no weapon and no way that they were going to defeat the dragon.
As the days past the dragon made himself feel more at home living there which scared the villains even more.
One day King Krak told a poem to the people of Krakow:
He who once and for all puts this dragon
Shall recieve my sceptre and my royal crown,
So come and defeat this most horrid beast
And win my daughters hand and a wedding feats.
After that many brave and valient knights made their way from different countries to reach Poland to defeat the dragon.
Swords and arrows shattered on its scaly body as if on a shield. But nobody was able to kill this dragon or even drive it away. Time passed, the dragon laid waste to the grounds of Krakow. Fewer knights came every day. More people cam to desert the town, until one day a young man, a shoemaker known to know one, knocked on the gates of the town. He bore no arms and wore no amour. Some twine, a needle, and sharp mind were his only weapons. The guards wouldn’t let him in unless he immediately went to see the king.
King Krak had heard what the boy was saying and decided to put some trust in him so he could have a go. The boy said that he would need: lambskin, some sulphur and mustard seed. The king nodded his acceptance to him.
All night long the shoemaker spent hard working on his plan. Local residents would peer through the window staring at his work. He took the lambskin, filled it with sulpher, pitch and mustard seed, and skillfully sewed up the hole of the lambs belly.
Everyone was now wondering what the morning would bring.
At sunrise the shoemaker set off to see the dragon with his bag of his ideal plan. There he laid his bait and quickly hid in the nearby bushes waiting to see what was going to happen.
The dragon awoke. The dragon knew he was hungary so he walked a bit for food. Suddenly the dragon saw a dead lamb(as it looked to him), looked at it and greedily jumped down to eat it and swallowed it whole with his jaws.
The dragon suddenly went “BANG!” and exploded. Exactly what the shoemaker had planned.
The villagers went silent. Then the sudden cheer began. All the knights ran to the bottom of the hill. The dragon was dead. But one thing was not. The river Wistula had been gulped up.

Happy Birthday, dear mmm222. Thanks for the review. I’m glad you got a great concert for a present! I hope our paths will cross again at a future concert.
Just had an awakening of sorts. Finally figured out something.
Brian riffing the first few chords of WLL.
And the vocal back and forth now before IWIA.
Sounds a lot, and I mean a lot, like a portion of that Fantasy Springs WLL. Down to the echo effects, guitar effects, and vocal riffing from way back then.
Methinks the boys were listening to it.

I have a few more random comments about the Prague and Krakow now that I’m home and am posting from a desk top computer rather than a 7 inch tablet.
First of all, I’d like to thank mlg for her gorgeous poster for the Krakow show. I think that this is my favorite poster yet. Also, mlg, thanks for explaining the legend of the Krakow dragon. I’m sure you’re right about that being the reason for the sudden reappearance of Dragon Attack. It was the first time I’ve seen it live and it was such an unexpected treat. The Wawel Castle is really magnificent. It is enormous and has a spectacular view of the city. The rooms are beautifully restored and full of art, tapestries, and furniture from the 16th and 17th centuries. We also toured the castle cathedral and saw the outstanding arms collection from the 16th-18th centuries.
As for the concerts…the best word to describe Adam that kept popping into my head during the Prague concert was “exuberant”. His demeanor in Krakow was more along the lines of “joyous”. Both were equally wonderful. We were so happy be treated to both DA and TSMGO in Krakow. Adam’s vocal performance and showmanship both nights was just outstanding. TSMGO was so dramatic and one of the best ever. Roger and Brian were also at their best. I was particularly impressed with Roger’s voice both nights. He sounded great! My only (very silly) disappointment was that Adam didn’t wear the plaid pants at the Krakow show. I had the camera with me that night and wanted a plaid pants photo. Oh well! On the other hand, he looked mighty fine in the tight black pants he was wearing instead.
Adamized and I sat behind members of the “Czech-Slovak Adam Lambert Fan Club” at the Prague concert. We saw their banner and started talking to them. They were very friendly, in their 20’s and major Adam fans. They gave us the website for their fan club, although I suspect that their postings are primarily in the Czech language. I spotted them again sitting close to us in Krakow. After the Krakow concert, while waiting for the tram, adamized, cwm, and I had a very interesting conversation with a Polish Queen fan from Warsaw. She was a college professor probably in her late 40’s. She loved the show but had mixed feelings about Adam’s interpretation of the songs vs. Freddie’s. But the bottom line was that she was very grateful to Adam for performing with Queen and thus allowing them to perform live again. We never told her that we were Adam fans which I think allowed her to be more frank with us. Then the tram came and total chaos. I managed to squish myself into the car, but cwm and adamized did not, so I then had to somehow force myself off the tram. We then gave up and decided to take a taxi back to the historic district. What an adventure!
OMG, the audio from cwm‘s videos is fantastic! And to think that she got that from a cell phone! I love the video too, because that really was my concert view.
mlg, what a wonderful legend. TY for sharing. I won’t provide a detailed recap since my ever so capable partner in crime mmm222 did such a wonderful job but I thought I would share a few details you all might enjoy.
When the dragon was thrown up on stage Adam picked it up and kissed it. It then looked like he was discussing with the fellows as to if he should throw it back into the audience. My guess is that he didn’t want to offend anyone. Instead he threw it gently behind him on the stage. Not sure if it got carried off or not.
I absolutely loved the energy in the Krakow audience. Prague was more reserved though respectful to our boy. I did feel as though Adam was working especially hard to grab the Prague audience. In Krakow, it seemed like they got the positive energy from the audience immediately and we were rewarded with a fun and loose show. When they did DA and SMGO the three of us were hooping and hollering. I don’t think the audience knew DA but went with the flow. SMGO was probably the best I’ve heard. I too think Roger’s voice was stronger than I’ve experienced previously. The audience loved it all but was especially loud for Brian and Roger. Brian always lets the audience know in every location that they are special to him in some way. I am continually enchanted by him.
The last three shows (of this tour) are going to be something out of this world.
Risky Lady,
Glad you are feeling better for Wembley. I have some type of post travel grunge and am happy to be home.

Cross-posting my message from the February chat thread, since the concert chats tend to be more active during busy tour periods:
Hello everyone. I’m happy to see that y’all have been enjoying part two of the Q+AL tour, and of course we are all looking forward to Adam’s new album.
In preparation for the album, I went ahead and added an “Original High Era” category to the navigation menu up top. I’m sure we will have content to put in that menu soon!
The site will reach the 4 year mark in May, and I feel that it’s again time for me to ask for donations to cover site expenses. Many of you may remember that I initially asked for donations back in spring 2012. The response was amazing, such that the monthly expenses for the site have been covered from that round of donations ever since. Now that it’s been almost 3 years since then, the remaining balance from those donations is beginning to run low. At current average monthly spending levels, the remaining donation balance would run out in August. I hope to keep this site going for years to come, so any donations would be greatly appreciated.
I’d like to once again thank AL for his amazing contributions to this site. He has created almost all of the site content for the past several months, during a very busy period spanning both Q+AL tours. Thank you so much!
There is a page with a financial summary, detailed listing of site expenses, and a “Donate” button allowing folks to make a secure donation to the site via Paypal here:

Hope it is not a repeat:

even though without the Freddie, the legendary frontman of Queen, the atmosphere in the audience was very hot even before the concert started
Queen and Adam Lambert opened on time, they started with „One Vision”, and the new, 30-year old frontman did quite a good job
and even though the winner of the American Idol cannot match Freddie’s genius, he is his worthy successor, according to even most fervent fans
the guy: Adam Lambert and Queen combination is a very good one – he is as extravagant as Freddie and a good vocalist
13 thousand crowd cheered phenomenal Brian May and 66 year old Roger Taylor who shined in the „It’s the kind of magic”
musical reporter: Roger Taylor was excellent, and I just thought it would be a good idea, if he became the lead vocalist and his son took over the drums”
the details of Queen’s arrival remained unknown to the very end – it’s a tradition that the band keeps its secrets
the girl: the only thing we knew beforehand, is that they needed a masseur, a dedicated massage room and special furniture
the band still remains attractive to the younger audience, who have never heard or seen the band in the original composition
the young girl: Queen will always be great entertainment, even more so, when combined with Adam Lambert
during the 3-hour show there were quite a few eye tearing moments, for example when Mr. Freddie appeared not only in spirit
this was their second concert in Poland, again perfectly played and very well received by the Polish audience
The only weird thing is the suggestion that Roger become lead vocalist (instead of Adam????) while Rufus takes over on drums. WTF?
And I wish they would get their facts straight. Roger is 65, not 66, and for the last time…..Adam didn’t win American Idol!!!!!!
This album has some beautiful pro photos from the show – just popped up on twitter:
