Last night, Patricia Nicholson Cook and I went to see Queen w/Adam Lambert! Truly a memorable show! While the great Freddie Mercury is irreplaceable, Adam Lambert did an amazing job! In addition, Tricia and I got “upgraded” to seats on the lower level, right by the side of the stage! So, I’ve added more photos than usual!

CONCERT REVIEW: Queen + Adam Lambert a royal tribute to Freddie
My recaps … Warning: They might be all over the places. Some may not be incoherent.
I’m not the same now. Adam blew up my mind and what’s not … AGAIN!!!
On the concert day 6 of us .. DH, DD, DIL, 2 good friends who went to Thailand with us, and I walked into the bar … Oh! No! that was later …
… we checked in to our hotel rooms.
… We got the corner rooms with good views. I can see Sprint Center from my 9th floor.
DD did a good job!
DH, DD and I had been to QAL in 2014 before the rest 3 were QAL virgins + the 5 tickets I gave away to the virgins. 2 tickets were not used because they couldn’t make it.
It’s a shame to waste them.
We did some sight seeing around there. Saw many Queen fans and Adam’s fans at the hotel and around the arena. Judged from their t-shirts and the way they dressed.
At 6 pm our friends had to go pick up their son whose friend couldn’t make it. So DD, DIL and I (the three young chics) went to have a beer at Gordon Biersch and to do people watch at their patio. The place was packed. A lot of out of town people.
Every time the fans with Queen, Adam, QAL and glitter shirts walking by we smiled and thumbed up to them and they thumbed up to us.
Heh! all three of us were wearing QAL t-shirts.
Later … got a call from DH and friends that they were back and ready to rumble.
They met us at Gordon Biersch and went to the arena from there which was a minute away. We didn’t see the WBR protest or hear anything about them until the next day from the blogs. They were not even in the news.
I was so excited … and happy
that I had my elastic waist pants on .. not jeans with buttons. 
But no Depend though!!!
The lines to get into the arena were long but they moved very quickly. There were merchandise stands everywhere but long lines so I’ll wait during Brian Guitar Solo to get something.
From the reviewers they said the size of the crowd was 13,000 people. But I think it was more … later on the venue was about 90% filled. You can see from some of the videos there.
Kansas City is a good venue for fans from states around here and from the South. I met a few fans from other states and a few from Arkansas and Tennessee who we flailed together.
It was so funny the guy from Tennessee who stayed at the same hotel with us couldn’t stop talking about Adam.
He was a hard core Queen fan and had doubt about Adam but in the end he was a fan and respected Adam tremendously.
Another one bites the dust!!!
WE ARE IN (and 2 are OUT, DD & DIL)
Our seats are at the 100’s level, not on the floorbut one level up .. directly at the eye level of the tip of the trust on Adam’s right hand side. Great seats among fans. During the show most of them stood up. DD, DIL and I stood up the entire time.
Later heard of peeps got upgraded to the front row in front of the trust on floor level at the same price we paid. Oh well! We didn’t want to take chance … right?
Again … I never get to be close to Adam.
It’s all good for his safety sake!
I love QAL 2014 but let me tell you ….
This time QAL 2017 is bigger, better, and TIGHTER!
The production, the setting, the lighting, and the set list are so superb. You all will love it.
Our friends couldn’t stop talking about it.
Everything is all first class and EPIC!
When I watched bits and pieces of the 1st show in Phoenix I was disappointed and didn’t like the new show that much. But show after show later the band and Adam got better and better each show. We know that!
And to be at the LIVE show myself … nothing can capture that LIVE experience.
Adam’s clothes got better and tighter … more rocker now than Liza’s show. (Some haters said that Liza’s show.)
OOOOH … and those tight, tight, tight leather pants … and the zipper pants.
Mils …. Yes, they were tight but I was far away from the stage. So I missed all the goodies.
So you guys … beware … I guess most of you will be in front of Adam and the trust.
My friend later mentioned about those tight tight leather pants … red, black, glittery ones …
She said they looked like they were painted on.
How did Adam get them on?
I had to bite my tongue before saying something that we would have said here to her. I’m known for my reserve and propper. …. NOT …. here.
I just casually said that … “I would love to be his assistant in costume changing.”
Hope I won’t take away somebody’s job here at ALL.
Now I’m getting to some of my disappointment.

My disappointment doesn’t do anything with the show. It’s just personally.
The set list … They cut 2 of my favorite songs … IT’S LATE and SPREAD YOUR WINGS.
Of course … my group wouldn’t know about them. I was the only one who watched and knew about the set list from other shows. I told them that the show would be close to 2 1/2 hrs. So it was only about 2 hrs. They were 40 min late and the DANG curfew.
I got I WANT TO BREAK FREE which I like and I understand ….
Since the tight setlist and Adam’s tight leather pants are
so tight, tight, tight SOMETHING HAS TO BREAK FREE!!!
Alrighty … ngl … I’m pulling a mils here.

Another disappointment …
After the show our friends had to take their son home and then come back to the hotel.
Only 4 of us, DH, DD, DIL and I went out for dinner and drinks.
I casually mentioned that … I bet tonight Adam was going to hit a gay bar in town because he had 3 days break.
We looked for a place to go and settled at the Dubliner Pub.
There were quite a few concert goers there showing and comparing their t-shirts from the merch they purchased.
I got a few myself.
We had a few beer and closed the bar … haha … We were the last group to leave that place.
I asked the waitress if she knew some gay bars around there. She knew only one … Missie B’s.
We know that place and we had been there.
Well…Well…Well … It’s a deep subject! …
the next day I saw some igs posted that Adam was at MISSIE B’S.
Dang!!! We could have been there.
OH!!! Why? Why? Why?
I just want to kick myself!
Ah – that last miss must’ve really hurt, asif – something similar happened to me and still have regrets –
I know … ulti!
Regret! I never meet Adam or in anywhere close to him. Only in distance from concert seats.
