I’ve been enjoying your posts the last few days. Seems like you fit right in!

Curious if anyone has seen a review from Michael Slezak? He was supposedly at this show, and I’d love to know what he thought. I looked back in thread but didn’t see a post for it; maybe it’s not out yet, or maybe he didn’t do a review.

There was some talk, Reese, that Slezak said he was going there for “pleasure.” So maybe no review.

What happened at the beginning of AOBTD..it wasn’t Adams voice.

  14. adamized says:

Morning all. Last night at the IZOD was the last show for me, cwm, and mmm. It was bittersweet standing there seeing Adam’s lovely face and knowing it will be months before I get to see/hear him live again. It is taking lots of will power not to grab a seat to AC and make a third trip up north in a matter of a week. I have to keep telling myself that no matter how many times I see this show it will not be enough and that one more show won’t change that. Addictions are never satisfied.

Each show I had the honor of attending was very different due to the venue, where I was (mentally and physically) and the level of excitement of the crowd and performers. Merriweather was hot and crazy and more of a happening than a concert due to being in the “pit”.

At Izod mmm222 and I had seats along the thrust 5 rows back from the stage. It was a great location to see all the interactions and facial expressions. Adam and Brian have so much fun together and are constantly connecting. It is a joy to watch. We were standing exactly in the spot where Adam gets on his bike and rides. Not bad!!!

For the first time out of the five shows I attended I “got” Brian’s guitar solo. Not sure why this time was different but I happily wallowed in the brilliance of the performance instead of just waiting for it to end. Maybe I knew that this was my last chance and was able to relax and give into it.

One really weird and irritating thing that happened during the show was that the security guards sat a large group of folks during Love Kills and WWTLF. Unfortunately the group sat immediately behind us and in our row. Talk about crappy timing. Why the heck couldn’t they wait until there was a pause between songs? It took away from the two most beautiful ballads of the evening. Shaking my fist even as I speak.

This has been an incredible time for me. I am so grateful that I have been able to share this experience with so many of my ALL friends.

Going through a bit of withdrawal now that I am back to an empty house and work tomorrow. After weeks and weeks of looking forward to this it is now behind me.

Back to saving money for the next go round and enjoying the vids.

    Welcome assmallworld.

Peeps going to the last few concerts. Enjoy!

  15. turquoisewaters says:

adamized: thanks for the recap. I think you are not alone in your post-concert(s) depression. I certainly feel it. Luckily we have a little support group here. Heart I am sure there will be new projects coming along soon that will capture our attention.

  16. riskylady says:

Thanks adamized, lovely recap. I know, withdrawal is looming ahead after Toronto. We will have to be strong for each other.
At least, there will be vids from the remaining shows, and then perhaps announcements for Europe? South America? Or, new Adam music in between?
Notes from this show: That Kat Simon vid of LOTG (and Killer Queen) just amazing. Brian’s changed up intro to LOTG just stunningly beautiful and Adam’s voice in both songs so gorgeous.
Held that note for 17 seconds in STL!! And what a performance!!
His heartfelt speech after KQ, “suspending disbelief” just so sweet. I think having a lot of his Broadway friends and Nile there inspired him even more than usual if that’s possible. Plus, he got his birthday album with all of our messages!
    What a great show!

Hello everyone.. A couple of thoughts about IZOD.

Should I say the best concert for me so far? Each and everyone is the best. I was seated just up a bit on the side so had a great view of everything. I was in the “no standing” zone. LOL. No standing except me! HaHa. Well there were some scattered peeps and then bunches of peeps standing but I don’t care. It’s a rock concert, not a symphony.

Acupuncture? Oh yes, that photo of him and the acupuncturist says it all. His dreamy eyes…like after a massage…you feel out of this world and relaxed. Probably gets it for an all over “tune-up”. Chiropractic is similar.

Did anyone see the end of WWTLF where Adam again puts his hand around Brian (or on his shoulder)?
There must have been a dozen beach balls at one point. I think just twice they were kicked off by Adam & Brian I think. I thought they were a bit distracting.

Next to me were a mother and daughter…very nice. Daughter looked 20 something. She’s a fencer & both a huge Queen fans from way back. Have traveled all over the world for this fencing thing and have seen many concerts. They had absolutely no idea what was coming after the curtain went up. It’s so amazing to see their faces & joy throughout the show. Speaking about the curtain, it didn’t go up or down. It got stuck or something so the crew dragged it down and off the stage.

While waiting at the car for the girls (mmm222, adamized and cwm I noticed a middle aged couple in the car next to me so as I usually do I struck up a conversation starting with “did you enjoy the show?”. The woman screamed OMG! Her husband (a long time Queen fan) casually asked her if she wanted to see this show. They lived close by. She had NEVER HEARD OF ADAM LAMBERT! I believe her. She is now officially an Adam fan. She was gushing on and on about how she couldn’t take her eyes off of him, HIS VOICE!!!! She didn’t care at all about Brian & the band. She sulked when Adam left the stage. It was all really funny.

She said she mentioned to her students that she was coming to this show & they told her about groups of people who follow him all over the world and she didn’t believe it. And now she met on…ME! LOL!! Said she couldn’t wait to get back and tell them all about it.

Anyway, short trip but totally worth it. Had a great Italian dinner before the show at a bistro recommended by someone at the Hilton. Wish we had more time to enjoy it but had to get going. Love spending the time with everyone. I have one more show…Toronto and I can’t wait but feel sad that it’s over for North America. But never say never. I ran into someone in the hotel lobby who claims that there are more shows to come and we’re not talking about Europe.

  19. Reese says:

After watching all of the videos for Jersey, I have to say (IMHO of course), that was the best one so far. Obviously they’ve all been good, and each has it’s highlights, but this one was different to me. HE was different; he was ON like Donkey Kong (as that saying goes). Have tried to pinpoint why, and words to describe why, but have failed miserably. Maybe I’m just in a different head-space or something, but I would pay premium cash for a DVD of that show, and I’d likely watch it until the DVD wore out (therefore I’d have to buy multiple copies). Call me crazy.
Congrats to those here who got to witness that amazing spectacle live….you lucky folks.

    Why would he need acupuncture???

In general, acupuncture speeds up the circulation processes all over the body. Healing to the muscles (such as micro-tears/soreness from overuse) is expedited, the nerve centers are released (blockage from lactic acid build up and strain/spasms/tension) so as to relieve pain, the “happy” neurotransmitter dopamine is released; giving the recipient a sense of enhanced well being & energy, and, it speeds up the body’s expelling of excess fluid/water retention; thereby, “de-puffing” (as Adam likes to call it). Adam shared in a recent interview that he works out on show days, so imo, he is working his muscles intensely on a regular basis during this tour.

Some acupuncture enthusiasts who take a more spiritual approach believe that the acupuncture releases energy in the ‘chakras’ of the body (energy centers) helping someone stay in life balance and “flow”…

Just my two cents and thoughts, HK. (prob. way more than wanted to know. lol).

Based upon what acupuncture does, he may just be wanting an intense dose of refreshment & rejuvenation. It’s been a long tour so far, and not a lot of relative break time. Of course, we know Adam has his own reasons, so, it’s just speculation. But then, sometimes… when one is grappling with a delightful subject such as Mr. Lambert… it’s just plain fun to speculate. Wink

Hello, nkd ! And, thank you for your welcome Rose .

I’m happy to be here. Smile I’m enjoying everyone’s posts, and I am eagerly looking forward to attending a future concert. That bucket (from my list) is in serious need of filling!

  35. asmallworld says:

Greetings, adamized! Thank you, and a pleasure to “meet” you. Rose

Thoroughly enjoyed your recap. It’s fantastic. I took in all the details and liked how you offered your take on the variable differences in the concerts you, cwm, mmm222 and luval experienced. I’ll have to live these amazing concerts vicariously (with your all’s help) for the time being. That after-concert withdrawal… I can only imagine what a bummer that is.

If, perhaps, QAL adds anymore North American dates to this tour (there is rumor), perhaps you can go again, along with all the other fine folks on this site who’d be able to attend – me included this time Big Smile! Maybe (if it happens) your “after glow” will carry you through till ‘then. ;D
    Feed the addiction…. Grin

Thank you turquoisewaters and riskylady for the comforting words. Ron, I wish I was going to see you in a few days! I wanted to let you know that RS showed me some pics from the Toronto pre-party and you looked fantastic!

I think I missed something re Adam and acupuncture. Is there a picture or a tweet?

I loved luval’s story because it demonstrates that whatever magic Adam has over women of a certain age is as strong as ever. Funny how everyone else around Adam seems to disappear.

  41. mmm222 says:

Last night was the 4th and, sadly, the last concert of the eight day marathon for adamized, cwm and me. We drove up to north Jersey from Baltimore in the afternoon and listened to cwm’s very impressive CD’s from Carnegie Hall and her church choir on the way. We saved the Queenbert Kiev and iHeart CD’s for the trip home when we needed lots of stimulation to keep us awake. We met up with luval at her hotel, had a delicious dinner in a very authentic north Jersey Italian restaurant and then headed to the venue.

Adamized and I had fabulous 5th row seats on the end of the row next to the catwalk. We were sitting among some serious Queen fans including a young woman with a tastefully done tattoo of the Queen insignia across her back. Unfortunately, she had a ugly tattoo of Freddie’s face on her upper arm and shoulder which ruined the effect. The guy sitting behind us was a little unsure about how Adam would come across, but by the second song was going totally nuts, or as cwm would say, “losing his shit” with happiness. We were positioned right in front of the thrust for 2 of our concerts. It was great to be on the catwalk this time for a change of perspective. I even got some Adam eyebeams at one point as he was singing on his way down the catwalk. I got some nice photos on the catwalk and main stage which I’ll share later.

What I noticed right away last night was Adam’s exuberance and utter joy at being on stage. He was just bursting with happiness and it really showed in his performance. He kept breaking into these crazy little dances even when the spotlight wasn’t on him. His vocals were wonderful. He took us all to church with STL and “All your love” was the best ever. I think the whole band was really at the top of their game last night.

We didn’t get back to Baltimore until 3:30 AM, but it was so worth it. Cwm had to catch a 6 AM flight home and I had to go to work in the morning. I’m leaving for California for several days tomorrow morning to see friends, and still need to pack. Yikes! I guess I’ll just have to catch up on my sleep on the plane. (Have any of us gotten much sleep in the past 5 years?!?)

  42. adamized says:

Thank you asmallworld. I know in my heart of hearts that there will be lots more good times ahead. Just a bit down in the dumps but I think a good night’s sleep and some vicarious fun for the AC and Toronto shows will be a big help.

Thanks AL. Wow, Adam looks like the acupuncture took him over the hill and back.

Heading off to bed now. Sweet Adam dreams everyone.

  43. madnessinmotion says:

Add me to the post-concert depression crowd. When I got back from Las Vegas I was so blue and just generally feeling blah. The thing I had been looking forward to for months was not only even more fun than I had hoped for it was now in the past and I knew Adam was still out there doing his thing while I was sitting at home. Soooo….I saw that great seats were still available in AC so I put my fingers to work and booked another show and I’ve been excited again ever since. Smile This trip won’t be as much fun as the earlier ones because I won’t be meeting up with any Glamberts (other than the random, anonymous ones at the show, ha). But the good news is that I’ll be center stage 5 rows back from the trust and will get to see KQ up close and personal (but out of splash range unfortunately). Smile I’m not interested in flying overseas so I think the blues won’t come back after this show since he’ll be out of my range. That remains to be seen though since detoxing from an addiction can be unpredictable. At least I won’t have to go cold turkey since there will be vids. Smile
