A different show – vestless – but don’t mind looking at it again –

    Oooooh…Glisten-y Razz

THIS^^^^ is why he needs to lose the vest. Take it off and keep it off. Sigh.

  7. mmm222 says:

mils– Why Adam didn’t take the vest off when he removed the fringes is beyond me. That tank top is sooo sexy by itself and it was so damn hot on Sunday at the MPP. I almost expected him to do the show in the spikey shorts that he debuted in DC 2 years ago on an even hotter day. On the other hand, I didn’t want to miss out on the leather pants at close range when I was in the pit.

asmallworld– I’m enjoying your posts. There’s always room for another lively voice on this blog. Also, in answer to your earlier theoretical question, Adam knows exactly what he is doing with all his movements. If you watch, sometimes he’ll do something particularly sexy or outrageous and then get a little knowing grin on his face.

  8. AL says:

Added some TALCvids above and updated others. Off to Boston now…

  10. cwm says:

Ok, here’s my recap, as promised…

Yesterday adamized and I said goodbye to rs and nkd and sent them on their way home, and now adamized, mmm222, and I are resting and regathering strength for our final show tomorrow night at the IZOD Center in NJ. OMG what an adventure this has been so far!

I never did properly recap the MSG show, but suffice it to say that it was a thrill to see the show in that storied venue in New York City, and be a part of history for both Adam and Bri/Roger. Adam and the entire band really brought their A game to that show and it was amazing. And there were so many ALLers there that we really had a wonderful time together both pre-show at the diner, then post-show at a pizza joint with fantastic New York pizza, and then the next day doing New Yorky things.

Then on to Maryland we journeyed. adamized and mmm222 have been the hostesses with the mostesses hosting nkd, rs, kradamour, and me for dinners and sleepovers here in the Baltimore area. They also organized a lovely lunch in Annapolis for nkd, rs, Kradamour, glambotgram, froggie, and me (we’re sorry you couldn’t join us, ulti!). The spit-spewing practice in mmm222‘s backyard was a riot, and we learned something about what it takes to project a controlled stream of a large amount of water from your mouth over long distances. I guess I was deemed the winner, mostly I think because I have a big mouth and know how to spout off. LOL!

The show at Merriweather was fantastic. All of the shows have been fantastic of course. Experiencing the show in different venues from different vantage points has been such a treat. Merriweather was certainly a unique venue for this tour, and experiencing the show from the “pit” was intense and fun and extremely… errr… stimulating, shall we say. Seeing Adam perform so up-close is absolutely mesmerizing and feels like such privilege. To be able to see every detail, every facial expression, every body movement up close, to hear his actual voice coming out of his actual mouth and not just through the speakers – ahhhh. I just couldn’t take my eyes and ears off of him.

  11. cwm says:

    A few tidbits…

We were let into the venue at 6:30, so we took our places at the thrust and then waited for an hour and 45 minutes for the show to start. We were crowded in there so tight and it was so hot and steamy that night, that we were all hot and sweaty and barely able to breathe by the time the show even started. LOL

In addition to mmm222, rs, and M, I was surrounded by a fun bunch of Queen and Adam fans. The Queen fans were a couple of guys in their 30’s who were over-the-moon excited for this show. Their two wives/girlfriends were less excited about the show and more excited about getting drunk and high, and were getting increasingly glassy-eyed and unable to stand up on their own as we waited. To everyone’s relief, they were gone to a less-crowded area before the show even started.

Then we got down to the business at hand. The pit was a blast for experiencing the show up close and personal because it was so intense and the crowd was sooooo into it. Adam, Brian, Roger, and the band could clearly feel the intense energy coming from the crowd, and reflected it right back in a beautiful infinity loop, which only built in intensity over the course of the show. Loud singing, synchronized handclaps, dancing, thunderous applause, all of it. The love for Adam was through the roof. It was incredible! In response to Bri’s “how do you like the new guy?” the ovation was looooong and thunderous, so long and loud that both Bri and Adam were taken aback and Bri had fun with the audience prompting them for more.

My new Queen fan friend standing right next to me was totally losing his shit as soon as the show started, and after Stone Cold Crazy, he turns to me and his friend and they both shout at the top of their lungs, “OMG HE’S AMAZING! AMAZING! OMG! WOW! WOW! HE’S FUCKING INCREDIBLE!” etc. etc. and that continued nonstop through the next few songs. So we were all thoroughly bonded in our little section and spent the rest of the show singing along at the top of our lungs, swaying together, and yelling at each other in amazement about how awesome it all was. LOVED. IT. After WWTLF, which was glorious, my new Queen bestie turned to me and shouted, “”Awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome INCREDIBLE!” And then at the end of the show, he gave me a huge hug and shouted “IT’S FREAKIN RELIGION!!” He was rapturous. Another one bites the dust indeed.

  12. cwm says:

It was great to be in the Spray Zone again because it’s such a fantastic vantage point for what happens on the thrust, but alas we weren’t the recipients of the spray that night. Adam only spit out one mouthful of water – he actually chugged a bunch of the water down instead of spitting it out. It was hot and he was sweaty and thirsty and I didn’t blame him! The stream he did spit went straight ahead into the first row of the seated section, and then he felt bad that he had nailed a young woman in a cast. LOL

By now you all know that the “All your love tonight” call-and-response riffing devolved into “Jimmy crack corn and I don’t care.” That happened right in front of us and he was looking right at us when he gave that call. We of course just laughed and went with it, and it was hilarious how he cracked himself up about it when we got back on the main stage with Brian. LOL where did that come from? It was obviously just a random line that popped into his head and the rhythm was right so he went with it. Love his spontaneity.

What else to report? Oh, on the way out, rs and I paused to talk with some folks we had chatted with in line before the show. They were Queen fans, but primarily rock n roll fans in general and dedicated concert-goers. They had seen all the big acts (Hagar, Motley Crue, KISS, etc.) in concert and said that this was definitely the best show they had ever seen. And they loved Adam. Yes!

Oh and I got to see and wave to asif at the show! She couldn’t come into the pit and we couldn’t leave the pit to give hugs and chat, but we got to wave and blow kisses, so that was a treat. And thank you so much asif for the lovely gifts! We loved them! You are such a sweetheart!

Phew – so much to say! But I think that’s all I’ve got. Thanks for hanging in there with me and reading to the end. I’m such a happy fan right now. One more show to go! Smile Heart

  13. asmallworld says:

Hi mmm222! Thank you, I’m really enjoy your posts as well!

And, in reference to your reply….MmmHmm, I suspected as such. Wink

    Those little subtleties…… Mercy.

  14. ultimathule says:

Everything you said, cwm – most especially the applause for Adam – even I was surprised at the intensity of it – and mighty pleased as well.

  15. asmallworld says:

    To be transparent…
I haven’t “gushed” or considered myself a fan (since my early teen years; even then it wasn’t as ingratiating), to any celebrities, really. Spending time paying attention to celebrities wasn’t something I intentionally avoided per se… doing that just wasn’t something that generally came to my mind in my busy everyday world. No public figure (outside of say, politics – for an entirely different reason) truly captivated my attention.

    That is…Until more recently.
In the last two, three years or so.
So, yeah… At times, I’ve felt kind of like I was “perving” a bit (lol) and gushing, like a silly school girl, on Mr. Adam Lambert – Who, imo, has taken the music world to task. They HAVE to do SOMETHING with this guy.
Love him or hate him – he simply can’t be ignored.
Like many, my admiration has been enhanced due to the fact that he is an extraordinarily brilliant singer (I am a singer)…
Yet, I’ve still been left wondering: is there something wrong with me?! I don’t typically objectify men….
(So, Okay… To borrow a line from the “New Guy”, I won’t continue to go and on, getting all “Oprah” here on you ALL. Wink)

So… In stead of resisting, I’m all in.
I admit it. I’ve come out.
…Out of the Adam Lambert admirer’s closet. Laugh
(self imposed, as my fellow Lambert admirers have been rather open about it for years. I’m just catching up!)

To me… there’s just something about this man.

And, apparently, I’m not alone. Yes

Ahh…the wading pool feels nice and cool in this summer heat, I’m going for a dip! Grin

  16. ultimathule says:

Luvya, asmallworld – kindred spirits here, for sure!

  17. turquoisewaters says:

I totally agree on “ditch the vest”. Disrupts the lines. San Jose was glorious in its absence of vest and instances of slipping fringes. Plus he stayed in the dragon attack pants until STL. Much better look if you ask me. Grin

  18. asmallworld says:

    Hello, cwm! Smile

That re-cap was awesome!! Funny, entertaining & relateable.
Wish I’d been there! How wonderful for you Smile.
There’s nothing quite like the open-air live experience with such a compelling entertainer. (I’m recalling my experience, back in the day, when I saw U2 live. Even still, even without being there I already KNOW seeing Adam and Queen is even more exciting.)

Thank you for all the details. I enjoyed reading your account!

    Lol, turquoisewaters….
I suppose there hasn’t been much consideration given in the QAL camp to the fact that throngs of on-lookers actually WANT this wardrobe malfunction. *sigh*
…A slippage of the fringe thingies Grin

I am back in a very different real life situation to the fabulous vacation I just left, and I can’t think of doing an in depth recap right now. cwm , mmm222 and the others at my Toronto and MSG shows have already given the details but I wanted to add that according to adamized, kradamour did attend the show and enjoyed it very much.

Will download my photos starting tomorrow and figure out how to got them to you ALL. I got some pretty good ones Wink Now to bed. I came home with a terrible cold.

Some photos from rs to whet your whistle with a note from her:

So I have been diligently going through my photos in order, starting with the Toronto ones, taken with my old point and shoot, which I have since replaced. Some of the pics are good, but nowhere as sharp or clear when you get close up, as some that have been posted. And there was a tall woman between me and the stage who stood and didn’t budge the whole concert. My MSG pics are nice considering that they were taken from waaaay down the arena side. Tonight I decided to peek ahead and see what I could do with the photos from the pit in Merryweather where I used my new camera with a great zoom. I almost fell on the floor. Here are a few examples.

    Hi ALL –

I have finally finished uploading my videos from Merriweather. I was in the pit, RIGHT NEXT TO the B-stage, with rs, mmm222, and M. These are my vids of when Adam was on the B-stage.

These videos aren’t the greatest quality because my camara is crap and I’m not much of a videographer, so I apologize in advance for shakiness and blurriness. But they definitely capture our great close-up view of Adam, and, at times, the intensity of the pit. Watching these puts me right back there at the show! Occasionally you can see the back of rs’ or M’s head or arms, since they were right there with me. Smile
