The Queen + Adam Lambert tour kicks off Thursday night in the “Windy City” of Chicago with many ALLers taking in the opening concert. The atmosphere will be electric as we wait to see what Q+AL have planned to entertain us. If the iHeartRadio appetizer is an indication of what is to come, we are in for a moveable musical feast!

So. Show Day arrives. LOLOL. Adamaddict 100, Jojosie and her wonderful daughter ( who is a Glambert but doesn’t know it yet ) and I all wake up at the crack of nearly 10 AM.
Nice suite.
Yawn. Stretch. Yawn. Stretch.
It’s a sunny and warm day in Chicago.
We missed a group breakfast at a great place across from the hotel, went just the four of us, and had a very nice ( read: huge Midwestern brunch ) meal. Went to a store next door, where I had a juice made like the kind I make at home with lots of ginger. Spicy and yummy.
We all decide to take it easy in the afternoon, Adamaddict is from Chicago, I have been there a gazillion times, don’t need to run around and see sights, am sooo glad we took it easy, saving energy for later. Many friends wandered into our suite later in the afternoon, and had some nice visits. TLKC, you are so funny, you have such positive energy, and I look forward to seeing you in Toronto.
Kick everyone out, and it’s time to prep and glam for the show!!!
After a light dinner, it’s time to catch the shuttle for the United Center!! ( heart is starting to beat faster about now ). Saw some major Glamberts at dinner, maybe from another site, maybe even the TALC ladies… hint hint….mlg was meeting with them too…
So. We all get in the shuttle limo, and I’m seated next to the cutest young mom and her 12 year old daughter, who are just GLAMMED up for the show. We of course start talking…she’s a lte bloomer Glambert, discovered him after some TV appearance, not Idol, had never seen Idol, and is addicted big time…has never seen him live…her daughter had on a sweet outfit, and black fingerless gloves…all of a sudden Jojosie calls out to me from the back row..MILS! Meet glambotgram!!
So funny! She had literally climbed in the shuttle over me, and lo and behold it’s my corner partner!!
The driver lets us off a block away, and we have to get in line around the block from the door. So we have time to shmooze with other people…there was a dad a little younger than me with his daughter behind us. She was 16 or 17 and a huge Queen fan and a huge Adam fan. Great taste in music. They are from St Louis. Dad is a classic rock and roll guy, handsome and tight black t-shirt, scruff, ( I digress, ahem, I am a married woman ), anywhoo, we get to chatting, and have a great time as the line moves closer to the door.
Has anyone mentioned the huge electronic signs with pictures of Adam and Queen? HUGE. On the street corner and on the building. Someone from Chicago says they have never seen such big and beautiful signage at the United Center, these are special just for this show. Needless to say, they left us gasping with anticipation.
We are now in. OMG. Before security can scan us, I turn around and spontaneously give the girl from St Louis my charm bracelet. She goes a little cray. Love it. She cannot believe the charms, and knows the meaning of every single one. So sweet. Her dad –almost–hugged me. Nice people. Bumped into them after the show, LOL nearly 23,000 people, and we saw each other again!

Oh, what the heck, I’m on a roll..
So. We’re in. I see Glamberts EVERYWHERE. I mean everywhere. Yes, there are rock fans. Yes, there are a lot of guys. More guys than we’re used to seeing at GN or Adam shows. BUT. There are tons of Adam fans, you can just tell. And this is an arena show. Gah. Dy-ing.
So. Jo’s daughter and I look for a loo. Glamberts in line. Meeting posters from other sites. And some lurkers from here too. They know me!! they know Jo!! So funny!! And in comes mlg–yay!! She’s wearing a red feather boa. Love it Love her!
We get to our seats, and Glambot is literally in front of me, row one and we are row two, just off the floor, even with the camera and some tech stuff. Just a bit from the end of the “thrust.”
Also, right in front of us is a multi-generational group of ladies who are huge Queen fans from way back and huge Glamberts as well. They were the ones who met Adam and Brian in the afternoon and tweeted out their pictures. They were so happy and funny.
Right behind us was a couple of couples who looked like hard core rock fans, turned out to be musicians who play in a Chicago-land band and it turns out may be well-known. I didn’t know this at the time, but we were chatting it up pretty good before the show. The one guy in particular, was all in black and had a rough but cute quality about him, kinda NY. Anywho, we had a lot of fun. They were hard core Queen fans and had never heard Adam sing, but were very open-minded.
Have I mentioned the tour book?
I purchased one just as we got in the doors, and boy, am I glad I did. It is slick and glossy, and has great pics. Many we have seen from prior Q+A shows, and I wonder if back when Shoshana was asking for pics, if it was for this. Many of our faves are in there. Elmo. Full page. NICE.
Before the show, one of our ladies was walking with a sign to promote the Adam love. She was quite successful. So funny. Such energy in there. It really is hard to describe the degree of energy in the arena. It was absolutely vibrating with positive energy. I have never felt anything like this at any arena event. not for sports, not for a concert. It was electric.

The absolute best concert I have ever experienced!
Lights,lasers, sparkle and camp, rockin’ music and glorious vocals. My eyes teared many times during the two hours, sometimes over the silliest things, like Adam walking out with his studded fringed sleeves. This was Adam with QUEEN in a packed arena of screaming fans in a nothing spared production, (only lacking the audience shuttle into space
Just loving these recaps – seeing the boy in all his glory with this production and one of the finest “backup” bands in the world – just so immensely satisfying and thrilling at the same time.
Leave it to you Mils, to find the family jewels!!! You’re so naughty, in the best way!

asif is adorable and so funny! I am so happy to finally meet you and that you got to meet so many from ALL.
It so happened that at one point during the squee party that asif, glambotgram, mils and myself ended up in the bedroom of mils suite, just in time for the picture of Adam draping over the chaise to surface. It was a true meeting of the permanent residences of the corner! OMG, mils was brought to her knees! Such fun memories!

I had so many thoughts I wanted to post after the concert that have now become jumbled. I was a bit derailed by the controversy with the crown.
I loved it and happen to think of it is an homage to Freddie. Adam would NEVER do anything purposely to disrespect Freddie or his memory. There was obvious approval by Brian. IMO, if Brian and Roger don’t have a problem with it, others shouldn’t either. Of course, everyone has a right to their own opinions and emotions.
Sorry to hash on that issue again.

And I did notice the white gloves during the concert. Gosh he looked so good in every costume change, which I counted at 5, or 6 if you count the removal of the fringe as one, but not 8 as one article stated.
I loved Brian’s gold shirt with those sleeves blowing in the wind. It was stunning! Brian blew me away. I’ve always loved his playing, but in person, it’s just incredible!

The question nkd and I were discussing after the show was whether there was a wardrobe malfunction or if Adam took off the fringes on purpose. I’m going with they were slipping off, and he elegantly maneuvered them off those glorious shoulders allowing us to see his arms and tats and how toned and muscular he has become. Thank you Pilates. Thank you so very much.
Boy has had practice with wardrobe malfunctions and taking off jackets on stage. Practice makes perfect. Ahem.
I also want to add to my post above that I am so very grateful to Dr. Bri and Roger for loving Adam so much and giving him the freedom and encouragement to be his wonderful, charming, gorgeous, sexy, fierce, crazy-ass self onstage. It is a glorious thing to behold.

I want to add that I LOVE my bracelet from mils! I, of course being a klutz, managed to break it early the next day. I crawled around the sidewalks of Chicago finding every charm. It will be put back together! LOVE it!

Has anyone done anything else today? I don’t seem to be able to leave here..one thing or another keeps me…another picture, another video, a replay of one seen/listened to 10 times already, mils’recapS…whatever. The duke is here with me and we don’t seem to be able to stop. It was everything that everyone said…the BEST SHOW I”VE EVER SEEN…with the BEST GROUP OF people I know!
We have to go out to buy a new phone because the Duke lost his (older type phone)at the concert site!
I have been saying for 3 years we have to get a SMARTPHONE (but never do because I have no time for the “learning curve” to use it for anything other than a phone call), BUT now we have to! Adam’s made me.
It’s going to be an unproductive summer…getting nothing in RL done. I’m out of here until tonight.
The Chicago concert is burned into my soul but we’re loving the recaps from others, the phenomenal pics, videos of those who are so talented;we’re reveling in the great press we’re reading. I do know, too, it wouldn’t be the same without all of you at ALL. It was so much fun at our gatherings in Chicago and I can’t wait to meet up with others both new and old at other venues.
