The Queen + Adam Lambert tour kicks off Thursday night in the “Windy City” of Chicago with many ALLers taking in the opening concert. The atmosphere will be electric as we wait to see what Q+AL have planned to entertain us. If the iHeartRadio appetizer is an indication of what is to come, we are in for a moveable musical feast!

And a special thank you to mlg for again providing such beautiful posters for each concert thread!

Enjoy the concert and the chat!

Wow, just spent a good part of the night going through these 11 pages, capturing all the links of photos, videos I want to grab things from. The sheer amount of material out there is so overwhelming.

Now I don’t have the energy to recap LOL. Just want to say what a wonderful trip to Chicago that was, meeting up with many of you here, and seeing this absolutely fantastic concert. The stage, the staging, Adam in all his glory, backed by the best back-up band ever! LOL. It will be a hard act to follow for Adam. I’ve been thinking about that, but for now I’m enjoying the glorious moment.

Can’t wait to see some of you again soon.

I know this posting is a bit late but RL has sucked a good deal of my precious Adam-centric focus away since coming back from Chicago.

It is hard to believe that only six days ago we witnessed the beginning of a truly epic tour. Watching the first show knowing that it was going to morph and gel into something that even more spectacular was half the fun. Seeing Roger re-crown Adam was a particularly poignant moment for me. The love and respect on the stage is palpable. I am so grateful that Roger and Brian found Adam and had the energy left to take on the tour. They are all doing it exactly right. No half measures for Queen!!!

I loved sharing this time with our extended ALL family and reconnecting with friends. Meeting mils and asif after reading their posts for all these years was really special. A special thank you to mils for hosting the hospitality suite with healthy snacks.

I can’t wait until our NE concerts in mid-July but we will have lots of media to keep us busy until then.

  24. TLKC says:

Thanks to P for the Chicago concert videos. I had no idea that he and M were sitting so close. Amazing quality and a very steady hand. Just wanted to add that.

  25. TLKC says:

Love the soprano scream a the 17-18:00 minutes mark of P’s video part one, when Adam says “all the fat-assed bitches out there!” The bra is an expression of that as well: it is a Glambert moment. We are his fat-bottomed girls. Laugh

I’m also too late to post anything new here. People move on to new and exciting concerts in other venues.

I haven’t gone through this thread yet. Last night I just got caught up with the show in Edmonton … watching my very first stream. I missed out the previous 2 concerts.

    No recaps from me.
But … I can’t leave out my feeling and gratitude to the people here. So … here it goes …

    Heart

From the bottom of my heart … Thank you very much … to all of the lovely people I’ve met in Chicago. YOU ALL’S are very kind and thoughtful. You gave me the warmest welcome and very encouraging. I’m afraid to write all the names .. that I’ll miss someone. So I’ll call YOU ALL’S.

I had the best time of my life.

Thank YOU ALL’S for the kind words you gave me and my family.

The gorgeous M told me she expected to see a big chubby asif. And TLKC thought that I was joking about my weight.

I have lost 25 lbs. in 2 1/2 months started from April 1. I took nutrition and MOVE classes. … Eat right in good proportions … Hop on my treadmill 5-6 days a week … listen to all Queen music that I can get a hold of on my treadmill.

I feel good or better now, but seem to lose my sense of humour.
Because I’m soooo dang hungry and tired all the time. Hahaha … Grin

I did all of this for YOU ALL’S. (Heh… Actually for me to impress you)

No need for me to write my recaps now. You all write them well and in details and eloquently.
I enjoy reading all of them and relive the epic experience I’ve had.
Thank you for all the recaps and journals. Rose

But later .. I’ll write about the experiences of pimping Q+AL while I was in line, at the merch and at the concert surround by non Adam’s fans.

The 10 bracelets I ordered from angelowal came handy to hand out. Grin

No Regrets When the concert list came out I picked the four that were in driving distance and set out to get tickets. That accomplished and soon it was time for the first concert – Chicago. It would be a bit of a wait until it was time for California/Las Vegas concerts. Maybe I should have tried to go to Chicago. See the first show with no videos to spoil the surprise. I knew I would not be able to NOT watch the videos. Also, so many ALLer were going to be there and it would be so much fun to get together with them. BUT – when the videos started appearing I knew that the wait was going to be worth it and we were so lucky to have tickets for four shows. And, wow, are all those videos fabulous! And looking back at the first poster! Also fabulous! Have fun looking at the videos again from Concert number one!

  39. luval says:

Ah….Chicago. First show. I remember just arriving to the airport before the storms began (others were delayed hours) waiting to meet up with nkd. While in an airport restaurant I left my carry-on bag at the eating counter! Thank God I had my name & cell phone number on the tag. This lovely couple called me and I ran back to pick it up.

Always remember our cab ride to the hotel in the pouring rain. We had a driver who was showing us pictures of all the famous people he had driven in his cab. All while he was weaving in & out of traffic in torrential rain. Horrors! Anyway the most famous he showed us was Regis Philbin! We oohed and aahed to make him feel better. I really thought it would be someone like Brad Pitt!

It’s almost a blur…we met others from here..had a great dinner at a fine Greek restaurant.

The show: No one knew how it would start, no one knew what songs would be sung, no one knew what his wardrobe changes would be (the leopard suit made it out on twitter a few days before but how it would be used in the show if at all was a mystery).

then that curtain goes up. SCREAMS!!!!!!! Now I’m Here gave me chills. I hadn’t heard him sing live since IHeart. The lights, productions…unfuckingbelievable!!!! Just now I timed the mike being out. About 38 seconds!. That is a loooonng time! My heart was racing!!! Turned out ok though didn’t it!

Fun to see his progression from the first show to the last show. Honestly it was just as good the first time as the last time. Obviously things changed a bit. I really think it stayed somewhat family friendly throughout the whole tour. He swears, hardly a crotch grab, nuts near the end. lol!

All in all the first show is something I will never ever forget. Miss everything about it and of course meeting up with our All gang and meeting new ones!

If I could turn back time……..

  40. ultimathule says:

That 38 seconds, luval – has it been determined what actually happened? (Know glitches happen first time out – but that was a doozy – thank heavens for Adam’s professionalism.)

  41. glambotgram says:

Wow I just started with all the NIH videos, Got chills just like I did in Chicago remembering the anticipation of that concert.

I remember freaking out when his mic didn’t work but I never realized it was so long and didn’t see all the fiddling he did to try and fix it. I just remember him tossing it to the techs.

Holy Cow Chicago has a lot of videos

  42. retjenny says:

On which song did the mic go out?

  43. ultimathule says:
  44. retjenny says:

    Thanks ulti

  45. ultimathule says:

Yes – he makes the “up” sign with finger at about 2:44 and then mic goes dead. At about 3:40 throws mic to tech and about 4:15 tech rushes out with mic. WILD!

Wonder what techs did wrong – misread his signal or what?

  46. asifclueless says:

That tech guy later on was assigned to clean the confetti! Razz

  47. ultimathule says:

All the guys were nervous except Adam – lol

  48. luval says:

So way more than 38 seconds! Almost 90 seconds?

  49. milwlovesadam says:

Having so much fun re-reading this thread!! Chicago is so filled with special memories, what a wonderful time we all had.

This was the first show, nobody knew what to expect. It did not disappoint, in any way.

From the posters, to that special chaise lounge pic, to meeting so many of you, just a glorious time.

  50. ultimathule says:

First time watching “thefilmqueen” videos – they’re pretty great – awash in music here –

Just realized this is where the big Q failed and we got that garbled video screen – whatta shame – particularly during STL –
