Tonight Queen + Adam wrap up the North American leg of the Rhapsody Tour in Charlotte, NC at the Spectrum Center. Sigh! But it will only be a month or so before we hear/see them again as they perform at the Global Citizen Festival in New York.

    Re that revue, I never saw Queen with Freddie except on MTV or YouTube, but don’t miss him at all. I much prefer Adam’s voice. For others who’ve only seen them live with Adam, some may feel the same….who knows.

    Hi @theodenjanes Queen and Adam Lambert is a gift to fans old and new who love the music and want to see it performed live by the remaining members of Queen and their amazing new front man-Lambert. It’s a shame Freddie didn’t get all the adulation due him—when he was alive.

    I thought that review stunk. Another one who “should have gone out and bought a ticket to see Queen with Freddie and report back”. ???

    And I don’t remember hearing Adam singing We Are the Champions on American Idol like the writer said. Maybe I’m wrong?

    It was better than I expected. I assumed Adam Lambert would just be a bad Freddie imitator but he actually is talented. I’m glad I went.

    Regarding the Queen Rhapsody Concert, I absolutely love Brian and Roger of Queen and Adam Lambert earned my admiration, he fits right in. He was humble and you could tell how much he admires Queen. He hit those high notes and never off key. He sounded fabulous!

    If I lump all 4 concerts that I saw from 1978-1982 with Freddie & Queen as one concert, It would undoubtedly be #1 on my list of all-time best concerts. Queen + Adam Lambert, after seeing The Rhapsody tour in Tampa a few days before Charlotte wrapped up the tour, I honestly say without a doubt that this show is #2 on my best concerts ever list. (Beating out other great shows I’ve seen such as Fleetwood Mac 2016 when Christine McVie returned after 17 years, Pink’s Beautiful Trauma, Cher’s 1st Farewell and current Here We Go Again, Madonna’s, Elton’s, Prince’s, Michael Jackson’s). It’s due to the music itself, the celebration of Freddie, the musicianship and personalities of Roger Taylor and Brian May (any die-hard Queen fan loved all the band members), and the vocal talent and persona of Adam Lambert. All of that plus the spectacle that technology now allows a show to use to accent the songs and bring back our hero, Freddie, in video form alongside his bandmates. No less important is the audience carrying on the comaraderie with the band members just as they would if Freddie was the one still encouraging them to participate. There’s no need to make any negative comment. There just wasn’t a single valid negative thing to say about this show.
