Thanks for all the goodies here Aely, those pics you posted were wonderful!
Sorry to hear it was only 4 songs, but based on distorted sound vids I watched in the morning, what he did he did great I especially loved Pop that lock, it was so energetic! And it’s the singing that matters, I think outfit was ok to that steamy warm night, it was dark anyway. No screens, so I think only the people in the front saw the details. I like the idea that Adam was himself enjoying the Pride as a “member” too, was part of everything. I hope he had great time there.

Personally, I like the way Adam’s leopard print shirt and black vest totally go with the two colors in his hair. I think that’s why he wore them together! Check it out:

Ron, got back really late with riskylady, margie32127 and floridagirl. Am exhausted. I think margie was correct that it was about 8,000 for Adam similar to St Agathe until an official estimate is released. Small stage, crowded, lots of pushing and there was less space than St Agathe, so was pretty uncomfortable anyway. There was really no more space for anyone except much further away. There were lots of people on the sides, at the back and anywhere near the stage. My toes are still hurting from the numerous amount of times they got stepped on. Will post more later today. Night/morning. It was a crazy day for sure.
I especially love these pics from the set that aely posted:

Hey welcome back cher! Good to see you all survived and made it home! I saw a tweet from margie that the parking lot attendants lost your car key, so I was a little worried for you all!
Thanks for your report about the crowd, cher. That’s my impression from seeing the video of the crowd – looks like it filled the space available and that there wasn’t space for a bigger crowd anyway. 8000 is a good-sized crowd!
This video shows good crowd shots a few times:

Post ho out! G’nite.
Nipple tweak guy reminded me of Drake.
I thought tweak was a little…not sure what word to use…uncomfortable to me? To someone you don’t know. Unless he had a nipple ring there. I’ll get over it.
WOW! Love all the pics, especially the bubble-shots. Thanks to everyone who pulled this thread together, starting with mlg for the beautiful poster and Al for his stewardship.
Glad I missed the angst about the sound and all the waiting. So sad for those who were there but as a person who happily went to the Cyindi Lauper event with luval to see only two songs – hey, whatever the man gives us.
I think the nipple tweak was cute – and that guy is probably walking on air today. He does look a bit like Drake.
Loved the outfit. The all-in-one print does have a Magnum PI retro feel for those of us who are – ahem – 29 but, once you get over that, it’s quite a cool look. Adam is ahead of the fashion curve on a lot of things so get ready for it. Come to think of it, Ron has been acclimatizing our eyes to this look for a while. Maybe Adam does read this blog.
I think this whole weekend has been a win win for Adam…From his looks, the socializing and his performance..
He was looking healthy, happy and gorgeous all weekend.
Well, re-looking at Naked Love and the nipple tweak it doesn’t bother me anymore. Very cute. But look at Johnny kissing the same guy up and down his body just before the tweak! Guy didn’t look too happy. Now that was uncomfortable to me!
This is a much better sound quality of Trespassing, also has naked love which is not quite as good.

I love the pics of Adam in his tank top, “trademark” spiked shorts and cool sandals!
Thanks for the pics and videos. It was disappointing that the live streams didn’t work, but it’s great to have the pics and videos!

This one’s a hot number. Check out his expression!

I like this one too: http://adam-pictures.com/displayimage.php?pid=29894&fullsize=1
A chestbert trio from earlier in the day: http://twitpic.com/cjl3bp
Concerned about that mole on his right forearm. With his skin, he should stay out of the sun.
I see it ultimathule. I hope that he gets his skin checked on a regular basis. I don’t like it either.
Are you guys talking about the mole on that blown up picture where he’s holding his crotch? I don’t see a problem with it. I have my skin checked once a year and those type are nothing. I have a few like that on my freckled arms. But yes, he should be checked out anyway. And not go out in that extreme Florida sun without sun block. His skin is so fair.
Nothing gets past us.
Nothing.
Don’t worry, that mole is not of concern. I have tons of moles like that myself and I get checked regularly by a dermatologist. Adam’s mole is relatively small (smaller than a pencil eraser), has even borders, and a normal and even color. Just a normal healthy mole! He just doesn’t have that many so it stands out among his freckles.
But I do agree with the rest of you that with skin like his, he should be careful in the sun. Fortunately (for his skin but also to our ~frustration), he’s prone to covering up and generally pursues indoor pursuits.
Someone made a cartoon of the bubble pics. This is so good – his expressions

And still this one so funny!

He looked very handsome in that chest photo trio cwm posted. I actually like that shirt, but would combine it with one color pants!
The nipple scene put me in mind of this portrait at the Louvre:

A bizarre and thought-provoking portrait; I’ve loved it for years.

Ummm. It’s called “titty twisting.”
Just FYI to y’all. It’s an immature prank, often done in middle and high school hallways between classes. Sometimes it’s a “twist and run.”
Playful, but, it can be very painful!!
LOL, though, the guy on stage prolly felt no pain at all. Nope. No pain.
We called it a “purple nurple” back in my youth.
http://socialitelife.com/adam-lambert-kills-it-at-5th-annual-miami-beach-gay-pride-photos-04-2013
WTF?
I’m pretty savvy – spend a lot of time in high school hallways – and I have NEVER heard of this. Maybe it’s regional.
But it would explain the portrait…she had a lot of reason to twist her sister’s nipple. I guess. Wonder if kids today are just imitating this chick from the 16th century.
CWM still don’t have my car. They lost my keys and my hubby had to come out there at 130am in the morning for us. Unfortunately the spare key didn’t work either. Since I never used it apparently it deprogrammed itself. It’s a smart key and not easy to replace. Actually the car has to get to the dealer so the parking place probably has to tow it there and then the key has to be replaced. Not cheaply either. Oh well. It’s not life or death and we had a great time so no worries. I can get lifts to work.
My goodness cher! Such a story! And I’m glad you had a great time in spite of the car key snafu!
So when are we gonna get recaps from all you ALLers who were there??

I’ll write something in the morning, promise. Just got hit by combination jetlag/Pridelag – got home at 4:20 a.m. from cher‘s house, and even though I slept late, didn’t catch up.

riskylady, myself, glamberthaf28, margie32127, floridagirl, littledutchess, the duke and 2 of my friends are all in here.
OK, a promise is a promise, so here goes……
I had to be at cher‘s at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Woke up in a panic at 7:24 a.m., grabbed a juice for the road, gifts for cher from NorthernLady and agathe.hb and myself from Finland, extra shirt and shoes and jumped in the car for the 40-mile drive. Left home at 8:01 and arrived (floridagirl is witness) at exactly 8:31 thanks to no
copstraffic! We (cher, me, floridagirl, Margie32127, cher‘s two friends and nephew) got on the road and arrived at South Beach about 9:10 a.m. Still pretty empty, but the city garage we wanted to park in was already full, so we chose the ill-fated lot, all day and night for $40. (Later we met folks paying $50 for 4 hours somewhere.)
It was a beautiful, sunny morning, promising to be a gorgeous breezy day. Left the car parked in front of the booth, key in ignition, cher took the ticket and we walked to Ocean Drive, the parade route, and where all the hotels face Lummus Park and the beach. Found a $4.99 breakfast special at the Carlyle and settled in. By the time Little Dutchess and the Duke joined us and we all finished it was 11:15, so went back to their hotel and dropped stuff off, had pit stops, and went back to stake our positions for the parade at noon.
By now, crowds were thickening considerably. ALL kinds of people, all ages, all genders, all ethnicities, most dressed in some kind of rainbow gear and ALL seemed very happy and mellow. Btw, about 60% were just wearing bathing suits, bikinis and maybe some rainbow accessory. The beach is just 75 feet away, on the other side of the park, as sandy stretch with a seawall and some vendor tents and a low dune.
The parade was both entertaining and enlightening. LOTS and LOTS of gay or gay-friendly organizations, businesses, a couple of churches, cher‘s and my alma mater Florida Int’l. University (an OFFICIAL float YAY!), banks, Macy’s, a fraternity from U of Miami, PFLAG, gay couples who have been together many years, some banks, bands, very beautiful costumes, drag queens with 6″ platforms on, rollerbladers, sexy firefighters, sexy dancers, on and on…
This really was an all-encompassing parade and crowd, with tons of gays, gay couples both men and women, but also lots of supporters and straight couples. I didn’t see anything inappropriate for a beach party-type atmosphere, or shocking.
All this time, a DJ was playing from 12 noon non-stop on the stage where the Key ceremony would take place, and the concert at 8 p.m. A small crowd was dancing there all day, in front of the stage on the sand (stage faces the beach and dune, not the grassy park).
At 1:30 we went over to the stage to be there for the Key ceremony. Feet were killing me so I sat on the seawall next to the gate into the stage area, and the Duke and Little Dutchess stood in the shade of a palm tree about 10 feet in front of me. Suddenly, I saw Johnnie, Terrance and Adam’s gray-haired manager guy by the fence gate. I yelled at Little Dutchess, but just then a golf cart skidded up, stopped right in front of me, and I immediately recognized the very tall, VERY slender figure in the passenger seat. ADAM!!!! 8 FEET AWAY!!! He quickly stepped out, looked around, waved Hi to us, and strode over to the gate and went in.-
PEOPLE!! THIS MAN IS ETHEREALLY BEAUTIFUL. SOOOOO SLENDER, AND THE BEAUTIFUL PALE BLUE-GRAY FULL BODY OUTFIT MADE HIM LOOK SOOOOO TALL AND COOL (BOTH TEMPERATURE-WISE AND HIPNESS
FACTOR). Duke was at the ready, and got some really gorgeous pics of this and the ceremony.
Btw, note: People on South Beach do not dress like people in say, downtown Miami. On weekends especially, you see a lot of cruise-ship type outfits, for a tropical cruise. This is a tropical place, moreso than Cali, for example, maybe because of the heat and humidity. I thought Adam’s outfits were PERFECT, and to judge by most tweets and articles, so did most others.
To be continued……have to go to eye appointment.
Thanks riskylady I love all the details Keep them coming! I knew that that scissor print outfit was perfect! I loved it!
Can’t wait for the next installment.
(Hope your eyes are fine.)
Great recap so far, riskylady! Thank you!
I too loved the scissor print suit – the whole thing – and thought it perfect for the occasion.
Thanks, riskylady for part one of recap! You were so close to him…lucky lady! I thought that outfit had a bluish look to it. Loved it! Can’t wait until the next chapter.
Love it riskylady, anxiously waiting for next part/s!
Part 2.
I think maybe Adam was wearing all one color (black the day before) to accentuate his height, which it did.
Anyway, we went around to the front of the stage, got behind the SPG’s taking up the first couple of rows, even with a folding chair, and enjoyed the Key ceremony while Terrance and Johnnie danced to the DJ music to one side of the stage. Adam looked so adorable and stunning, his whole demeanor and behavior was just perfect. He got a good laugh when the Mayor joked about what the Key opened, and also made the crowd laugh when he said he was “openly happy.” I think he was quite touched at receiving this honor from Miami Beach, maybe a little astonished that they would bestow it upon him.
Our wonderful congresswoman Debbie Wasserman made a short but powerful speech about the equal rights that must be obtained for LGBTQ citizens, but while she wasn’t speaking she ogled Adam (who wouldn’t?)
As they walked off stage he came face to face with Terrance and Johnnie and did a little gyrating dance which pleased the crowd! He then left in his golf cart, surrounded by a small crowd that had gathered there, waving to everyone.
By now, it was 2:30, so we went back to the hotel and I checked in to the room I had reserved so we could cool off, store stuff, etc. Everyone freshened up, Duke and Little Dutchess too, and we all went to lunch at a restaurant in the next block. After a long and leisurely lunch, back to rooms.
Immediately, cher, her nephew, Margie32127, cher‘s friend and I were snoozing. Floridagirl was banished to the hall and then the stairwell while talking with libralady who couldn’t make it, but wanted all the scoop.
At 7, we returned to stake our places in front of the stage. Crowd had mushroomed, DJ still playing, but we began to make our way in. Right away in a blink, nephew, floridagirl and Margie vanished into the interior. Cher and I and Duke and Little Dutchess stuck together but gradually slithered in closer and closer. Crowd was growing continually and getting more packed and solid by the minute as we got closer to 8 p.m.
Have to say, most were in bathing suits, it was hot and humid, many had been drinking and were still (and a few, “smoking”) but it was a very happy, dancey, mellow crowd. Tons of couples both gay and straight, mostly 18 to 30ish but there were all ages, colors, sizes mixed in. Many were really nice to me, making space in front of them, so we gradually moved closer to the stage and a little to the right side.
Crystal Waters came out and sang a few songs with two dancers in suits and ties, which they shed very quickly. She was good, but her music was almost indistinguishable from the same thump-thump-thump dance music we had been hearing. Crowd was appreciative though, and sang along to most of her set.
I could see the DJ’s keyboard person, who was soon joined by two more. As we got close to 8, another one came, and much discussion and cellphone texting ensued. My intuition said: sound track issues. Microphone was removed from center stage. More keyboard people came.
Finally, around 8:40, they announced Adam and played the remix of NCOE. Then Adam came out with a hand mike and dancers and launched into Trespassing. He sounded GREAT, even with the DJ’s bass speakers still going full blast.
He looked gorgeous too, very young and hip. (I have seen that tank top before, I believe on him out and about in LA at some time.) NOTE: I DO NOT think he wanted to appear sexual to this crowd during the performance, hence the young and hip but not sexy outfit. I think he wanted the music to be the point, letting the dancers take care of sexy, gay. And his short little speech was to the point, emotional and very well received. TONS of adorable boys in that crowd, I quite enjoyed seeing the enthusiasm and I bet Adam did even more.
Crowd sang along to Trespassing, didn’t so much to Naked Love, and sang some to Pop That Lock, loving the choreo and dancing continuously, and all sang to WWFM. They gave him lots of love, fist pumping, arm waving during Naked Love, and his voice sounded soooo good with some great glory notes (also loved by the crowd)unlike Crystal Waters, who was pretty much drowned out by her backing tracks.
After looking at some videos and crowd pics, I would say maybe 9,000 or so. Crowd stretched much wider than the stage area and was very solidly packed, unlike Ste. Agathe which was pretty sparse around the side and back edges (I know, I went back to sit on the bleachers just before the rain started).
Adam almost had to scream the last few words of WWFM over the bass which had been turned back on, and the fireworks started right then, drawing the crowd’s attention. I didn’t notice ANY disappointment – his set wasn’t that much shorter than Waters, and the fireworks display took over. DJ announced that the DJ and block party would continue on 12th Street right away, so people just started drifting that way.
NOW, for the Rant section of my recap:
Yes, we were disappointed at only 4 songs, because unlike 99% of the attendees FOR WHOM THIS EVENT WAS ORGANIZED, we knew there were supposed to be 6. I really wished he had done Shady, the perfect song for a gay crowd, and maybe it was a planned encore. But (and I have traveled to a few concerts) I think we have to remember that the concerts are for the local audience. Those of us who take the risk and travel don’t “deserve” any special treatment or concessions. I believe Adam has expressed both surprise and concern at people traveling and even those waiting long hours for concerts, but he doesn’t plan them for the travelers. I wish San Francisco had been longer, but it was 30 minutes of perfection, and One Republic was quite good.
Also, performances flow so quickly you just don’t analyze every nuance, movement, etc. You just get a general impression of the overall experience, and later can remember or reflect on certain aspects. Being able to watch the YouTube is quite different. I saw one girl on Twitter complain that they shouldn’t keep the water bottles and Adam’s tea on the stairs, that it looked trashy (about the Finland concert). HUH????? No one in that audience was close enough for them to stand out to the naked eye, and even with binoculars, one was looking at Adam or the performers, not the freaking water bottles (which Adam drinks very frequently, so where else would they be?)
The mostly gay audience seemed to really enjoy the antics with the two guys and the dancers, and Adam’s nipple tweak. Not being gay myself, I just thought it was funny but not offensive. The guy seemed quite OK with it.
OK, end of Rant section.
After the performance, we went back to the Carlyle for drinks and more food. About midnight, went back to claim the car. Or so we optimistically thought.
Valet had lost the key. Also, realized that the stub which should have been attached to the key was instead still attached to cher‘s ticket.
A 40-minute discussion took place during which they tried to say we had mistakenly taken the key with us. How could we, we said, when we left the car in front of the booth and it was now parked near the end of the row. Finally, cher had to call and wake hubby, who came in his van with the spare key. Which did not work, even with a new battery.
This group is car-challenged.
At this point I believe car is still at valet and will have to be put on a flatbed truck to be taken to dealer so they can create a new key. Cher will have to let us know what is going on.
Forgot to mention, SPG’s remained glued to the stage all afternoon and through the performance. No shame.
All in all, I am very happy to have gone to this event, which I normally would not have attended. It was eye-opening and heartwarming to see how mainstream the event has become, compared to reporting about the first few years, and to see the size and diversity of the crowd. Btw, the 80,000 number was for overall attendance of the week-long event, which started on Monday, not an estimate for the Sunday performance or attendance. Last year’s attendance was around 60,000, which they expected to surpass this time – and also by making it more of a friends and family event, not for gays only.
And, Little Dutchess deserves an award for soldiering through the packed crowd very very well.
EPILOGUE: Once we returned to cher‘s, we were treated to coffee, tea, and a wonderful Jamaican fruitbread called “bun” with slices of – yes – Jamaican cheddar cheese. Soooo buttery and delicious. And nephew had videoed the performance and gave us DVD’s of it. Turned out very good, great sound. Then we chatted until 3:45 and I left for home, arriving at 4:20 thanks to no
copstraffic again. THE END.riskylady– Thank you for the wonderful, detailed recap. It was the next best thing to being there. I’m glad the day went so well, with the exception of the lost car key. I’m looking forward to meeting you in San Diego.
Thanks riskylady both for your recap and for your rant. Loved it all. Glad you had such a good day and got so close to Adam.
Thank you again riskylady! I am pretty sure now I will be going to Pittsburgh. They say 90 minute show with singers & dancers but who can be sure? It’s in my neck of the woods so why not.
I think at this point any chance you get to see Adam..GO! Whether it’s for 2 songs or 4 songs or whatever. Who knows when the next time will be. Life is short. Anything can happen anytime (Boston marathon), so as Nike says “JUST DO IT”!! (and this means non-Adam things too).
posted on wrong thread:
Riskylady, I was thinking about this before the show and I was glad to hear you say it “I DO NOT think he wanted to appear sexual to this crowd during the performance, hence the young and hip but not sexy outfit. I think he wanted the music to be the point, letting the dancers take care of sexy, gay.”
While we were watching the livestream (awful), and just before his little speech, you could hear a female voice shouting “KEEP PLAYING”. She obviously was not liking him talking. Rude.
Great recap-riskylady Feels as if I was there myself!! My spot in the park (which kept changing as people left and others came and as cher pushed me forward to get a bit closer was not quite as good as riskylady’s , although she is shorter than I; so, much of my recollection of the performance has less detail. I could barely see the dancers and saw Adam really only from the chest up. But what I saw was wonderful as was the voice!
Not 60,000 on the beach/park but surely 8000 and you could not spread out anywhere as much as in Ste. Agathe. But I survived…with a little help from my friends!!! It would all have been easier if the show had started on time and the wait would have been for only half the time.
riskylady, what a wonderful recap! I just loved the details and the rant – so glad I met you in Ste Agathe so that I can picture you talking and experiencing the event.
Sounds totally worth doing, so glad you had the opportunity to go!
I like the scissors outfit too. The princepuja necklace looked great with it. Understated and classy.

Excuse to put this up again!
Thank you riskylady for your wonderful recap.
I hope to hear more from you little dutchess!
