Let the party begin! Adam and guests including Barbara Eden (I Dream of Jeannie), Fergie, Kelly Osbourne, Bill Clinton, Carmen Electra and Elton John are set to participate in the 21st Life Ball “Fighting Aids and Celebrating Life” at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria. It is said to be the biggest Aids charity event in Europe. This year’s theme is 1001 Nights and Adam is to be “Ali Baba” and sing the theme song “Love Wins Over Glamour” to open the show. Enjoy the extravaganza that seems especially suited to “love to dress up” Adam. Look for the single to be available on iTunes as in previous years.

    I did watch the speeches riskylady but it was sooooooo hard to hear what they were saying with the simultaneous German translation so much louder than the original. It just really annoyed me. Those two announcers had no respect….especially for Adam while he was singing. Frown

    It really does look like the Sleepwalker coat, the cut, shape, style etc….but that coat was actually pretty sheer, can’t see how it would take the weight of the bling…

    won’t be able to spend quite as much time with you guys over the next couple of weeks….have 6 visitors over from the UK, 2 for 1 week, and 4 for 2 weeks…gonna be mighty crowded in my little houseSmile

    Love reading teh debate at some sites about the “popness” or “radio-play-ness” or Europop” “dance club” sound to teh song.

    DUH.

    It is a Europop song. It is a dance club thumper. It is a song sung by a gay man for an AIDS fundraiser cause.

    Duh. Duh. And more Duh. ( Smacks head in frustration ).

    The lyrics are not the point. Adam was asked to sing a song that was already written. He probably added a few words or lyrics during production to suit his style more. And got a co-write in the process.

    LOL. He probably added the F–Bomb. It’s pretty American!

    This article makes it sound like Adam dresses this way everyday.

    Yes, I do believe that whoever designed the Sleepwalker coat may have had a hand in the design of this coat for Adam. It has all the same elements of “line.” Even the little fabric toggle belt that holds it together in front.

    I do wonder what it weighed. That thing is loaded with crystals and appliques.

    On a similar note, I watched on HBO a behind the scenes of the Liberace movie that debuts tonight. They were showing some of his original costumes, one which weighed 65 pounds and was similar in the amount of crystals to what Adam was wearing, and it weighed 65 pounds. When you add in the turban, I don’t know how Adam could stand up straight.

    FWIW, the Liberace show looks amazing. I have a feeling that both Michael Douglas and Matt Damon are going to win awards for it. Some are saying that Michael Douglas gives the performance of his career.

    Liberace is from my city. He is an icon’s icon. His museum in Vegas closed last year from lack of business. Too bad. After this movie, it could have likely generated some revenue.

    Anyway, it’s on tonight on HBO.

    Yes, he was on Rockstar. But, before that, he was in the Zodiac Show with a certain somebody, and was at Upright Cabaret too.

    He is absolutely incredibly talented, and given that Vintage Trouble is a fairly new group, they have gone far and fast.

    LOL. Their fans are called the Troublemakers.

    Didn’t we have a poster here who saw them and sat behind Adam and Sauli? Was that that night when somebody claimed that Adam dissed her for an interview and Glamberts ate her alive? HA! Don’t mess with our own personal sunshine!

    Yes, I found Vintage Trouble through Adam, but, I now am a fan of theirs for their own merit. They are sooooo good!!

    Wow…that video from Cariinaa2012 is amazing. HD perfect!
    IMO I think it’s the Sleepwalker coat too. It looks like quite a bit of peacock colored paint with Swarovski jewels glued on. As far as the weight, I think Adam could handle it. He’s a big guy. I’ve worked with those crystals and they are not all that weighty.

    I think of it as wearing a full length sequined outfit. Ron’s done it and it’s on the red carpets all the time. It’s doable.
    Maybe one of the coats wasn’t as worn or maybe they had another spare. If he ever has a twitter party again someone could ask him.

    eta: can’t wait for Liberace tonight. Might have to dvr it as I’m working very early tomorrow.

    Mils, I too was chuckling over the self-important twits “analyzing” the “Billboard-worthiness” of what was clearly described as the Official Song of LifeBall 2013, the lyrics of which convey the message of love and sharing over selfish wealth, and end with Open Sesame to continue the 1,001 Nights show. The lyrics were criticized (yes, even up against current pop lyrics which are mindlessly banal and meaningless and stupid). As if it was going on his album, oh, I just can’t……
    L.O.L.
    Even some sites like SocialiteLife call it “Adam’s new song” and the outfit Adam’s “new look.”
    Geez, if he ever appears in a stage show in the US, they will think he’s debuting new music and his costume (green skin, even) will be his “new look.”

    just read on 24/7 from someone saying that the costume is Adams, that it came out of his closet, and he had someone in LA decorate it…so chances are it is the sleepwalker coat. And the boots are his and spraypainted and stuff.
