    Thanks glambot.

  4. milwlovesadam says:

May I please also say that Dr. Brain May could be a poster child for knee replacement surgery. Did ya’all see him squatting and strumming? He has rebounded quite well.

  5. glambotgram says:

mils Brian said he walked his daughter does the aisle without a cane, 3 weeks post surgery. Incredible

  6. rs says:

Don’t think it was knee “replacement” surgery, but surgery to fix a problem in the knee. Still amazingly fast recovery. I tweeted him that I hoped his knee doesn’t hurt after the concert

Must go to sleep, been up since before 7:00am.

ETA. I stand corrected. As usual, risky lady is the knowledgable expert on all things Queen and Brian may. I knew that the latest surgery was to “fix” something. So it was from an early replacement surgery.

  7. TLKC says:

Whatever kind of surgery it was, knees are tricky things. I was heartened to see Brian strumming away on a bar stool at one point during last night’s concert. It means that he is taking no chances, which is a good thing.

Men are terrible when it comes to this kind of surgery. They are eternally optimistic and frequently imagine that early improvements mean they are permanently fixed. They break the rules and shake off the little pains, never thinking about the long term consequences.

I want him to have 20 years plus of excellent mobility on that knee. Plenty of time to perform and chase around after any grandchildren his newly-married daughter may have.

  8. TLKC says:

Thanks for all the posts and re-posts of that jump photo. Philippe Halsmann would be proud.

  9. JOJOSIE says:

Thanks Little Dutchess and asif, I really enjoyed that U-Tube of his performance. Good HD and sound. It seemed only on the last song did it miss some. Didn’t stay up last night but was fun reading all the night owls posts this morning. Really would have liked being there but this blog and the videos made it fun and made my heart beat a little faster with excitement. Next best thing to being there. Hope we all meet at the next Queen with Adam Lambert concert. There has to be one. Yes

Has this been posted? From RS…

It’s 2 am but I can’t stop berting, the day was so busy I had no time after the morning. I have listened/watched their show so many times. Incredible. Adam looks great and confident. Can’t wait to hear more news how this was received in US, maybe even larger response after it comes from tv?

  11. milwlovesadam says:

Can anybody open his numerous Instagrams? I can’t. No Cry

  12. glambotgram says:

I opened them all Mils. Pics from last night with Adam’s hash tags.

  13. luval says:

Just got home. Haven’t had time to read back all the comments but will do that tonight. Not even unpacked but I had to watch all the vids.

Will try to make this brief. Friday morning met up with mmm222 at the airport and we made our way to the hotel. Gorgeous hotel! We were starving so we went to the buffet where we had the delicious bread pudding. Still dreaming about it! Then made our way to MGM grand where we met up with aely and Texaswannaholdem at about 5:30pm. Enjoyable conversation! They are both so much fun. Time to make our way to the arena along with thousands of other people. Tons of glam and glitter. I believe it was for Adam but of course this is Vegas!
Show started right on time. mmm222 and my seats were way to the side of the stage but we were relatively close. We could see all the goings on back stage (it was a revolving stage so it went smooth to change equipment) and caught a glimpse of Brian’s big head of hair. WOW. Then Adam popped in the area and both of them are standing there. We couldn’t stop fan-girling! And of course there was Rob, Adam’s right hand man always at his side. Funny, but I feel Adam is safe with him there. Love to see them together.

Show starts (I guess there were other acts before them, lol) and Adam saunters on stage. He was soooo tall and thin I said to mmm222 “Is that him”. I almost couldn’t recognize him. A dream boat. But the shoes!!!!!!!!!! OMG. Have you ever walked into a Swarovski crystal store at the Mall and everything is glittering? It was just like that. You couldn’t your eyes off that amazing spectacle from head to toe. My favorite boots/shoes yet!!

So the show …as I said…Who Wants to Live Forever” was the most spectacular version I have ever heard! Oh, by the way, we were able to move down slowly row by row so we were relatively close. A guy came by yelling that he had 2 floor tickets very near the stage for 50 bucks. This drunk couple took the offer pretty quickly.

One thing, in our original seats there was 4 or 5 (and the number was growing) people in front of us just standing up talking…not watching any of the show. People around us were pissed off too. I finally took it upon myself to say “excuse me but there are many people here who cannot see the show. One of the girls said “do you want us to sit down”? I said no, but either watch the show or take yourselves somewhere else to party together”. She was very nice, actually and said, “I am so sorry, you are right, we are just gathering here not paying attention to the show.” She pointed to this girl in her group and said she was Katy Perry’s best friend and they were only here for her. They would leave right after she left. And they did. They had no interest in any other act. They were from LA and were only there to support her. She said she knew they were annoying but would be leaving. So it worked out. But we moved down anyway. I think as someone pointed out, these types of shows are not fully seated throughout the show. People will see the act they like and leave. I never even noticed empty seats. Seemed packed to me until the end.

I’ll end this for now. Can’t remember which song but did you notice when Brian played out on that ramp he almost tripped Adam and Adam had to skip and jump over the guitar wire? It was funny.

This was one of the best shows I have ever seen. For only 35 minutes I was breathless. Am still on such a high and don’t want it to end. Adam and Queen are the be all to end all. Am so glad I got to see them. Trip was totally worth every red cent. My BBF stubhub came through again. And thank you mmm222 for convincing me to go.

The other acts…especially Elton John and Muse, Katy Perry too were entertaining.

  14. Ron says:

The last time I posted something like this, it had an unexpected and very happy outcome.

I really – I mean really – like the necklace that Adam wore yesterday. Wink

Maybe lightning will strike twice. Grin

Srsly, is there a name for that particular style of necklace?

The closest I can come to it is by calling it a “lariat” but I’m not sure if that’s correct.

The only mens lariat necklaces on eBay are those cowboy style things or are made of leather.

So maybe it’s not a lariat. Does anyone know if there’s a name for that kind of necklace?

  15. milwlovesadam says:

Oooh luval, so glad to see your recap!! You must be on an absolute high!!

‘Night folks! I’m off to be a TroubleMaker!! Show is sold out, just called the casino.

  16. Ron says:

    Ahh, luval!!! You’re home!

SO happy you had such a great time!!

You inspired me to make bread pudding. I never had bread pudding, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of bread pudding so I’ve certainly never made it before. But I did today and it was delicious!

I had it with ice cream and I think I gained 5 lbs. but thank you anyway! Wink

We’ll talk tomorrow. Can’t wait to hear all the details!

  17. glambotgram says:

luval So happy for you, great recap. We have to all get to one of these. Hopefully a true Queen/Adam concert.

  18. riskylady says:

Brian May had knee replacement surgery on August 6th.

@DrBrianMay: I’m THROUGH !!! With a shiny new knee. This no walk in the park (!) but for 1st time in months I feel optimistic and free of that OLD pain.

He had surgery about 6 months before that but it didn’t help, so he had to replace. Just 3 weeks later he walked his daughter down the isle.

  19. luval says:

For peeps who can’t open instagrams here are Adam’s hash tags

    Love his hash tags.

  20. TLKC says:

Love the Recap Part One luval. Glad you finally got to see Queenbert in person. It’s addictive don’t you think? Leaves you wanting much, much MORE. Still hoping for at least a few full sets somewhere down the road.

Nice to know that Katy’s posse, entourage has some polite people in it. Love what she said about Adam in her video package.

  21. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Thanks to the fabulous cher, aely and I are going to the Avicii show tonight as VIP’s! Thanks so much, cher – we’ll be on alert for an Adam sighting. Grin

  22. riskylady says:

luval, great recap! It is so addictive, the Adam/Queen show! I was lucky to see all 3 in London, yet I rewatch them plus Kiev plus the others so many times. Match made in heaven! Love this quote from the RS interview with Brian and Roger:

Following Perry came the most anticipated act of the night: Queen with Lambert. Before their set, Queen’s Taylor and Brian May spoke to Rolling Stone about why Lambert is such a great fit for their music.

“He does bring his own approach and he has this amazing range, a gymnastic, beautiful tone and he really fits our material so well,” Taylor said of Lambert. “He has all the elements – he has the passion, he has the humor, a little bit of camp. And when the shots are down, he has the power. It’s incredible,” May added.

Lambert astounded the audience on songs like “We Will Rock You” and the closing “We Are The Champions” and “A Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” He frequently worked in unison with May, the two sharing the front of the stage as the guitarist reminded everyone of his considerable prowess by bringing his parts in “Bohemian Rhapsody” to life.

  24. GreenHippo says:

so is anyone watching the second night tonight? I know no Adam Cry , but still Sir Paul,30 seconds to Mars and Maroon 5 and JT… could be quite cool.

  25. angelowal says:

Ron I think lariat is the correct term for Adam’s necklace. The country one is a ‘bolo tie’ and I have several Shame as a result of working at that country radio station some years ago……..never worn them since, whew!
    http://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/158106219/sterling-silver-infinity-and-cross?ref=br_feed_5&br_feed_tlp=jewelry Isn’t this one interesting?

  26. angelowal says:

luval Thanks for the recap and so glad that you had such a good experience, but what else could you have when you see Queen + Adam!!! I agree that those boots are fab and they’re my favourite too – they’re so ‘him’. I’d love to tour Adam’s shoe closet sometime; he and I share the same shoe fetish. I think one can NEVER have too many shoes In Love

I had saved the video of the almost trippy Adam (over Brian’s cord) but the user has removed it from youtube Frown he was so graceful and cute as he hopped over it smilingly. He’s so marvellously comfortable on a stage and I hope that when he’s on Glee that that ease comes across on camera too.

I’m listening/watching for now, but will probably not make it long since it’s getting late for me here on the east coast. I love Paul, but that audience doesn’t look like it’s responding much to him.

  28. GreenHippo says:

Ellessay yeah he is from another generation and even I who grew up with the Beatles have a hard time getting into his music. Let’s face he’s neither Adam nor Queen… Struggle

  29. Ellessay says:

Ellessay yeah he is from another generation and even I who grew up with the Beatles have a hard time getting into his music. Let’s face he’s neither Adam nor Queen…

That’s what I thought–they didn’t know his songs. Plus he sang some new ones I didn’t recognize. I really enjoyed the concert I saw, but he played a lot of the old stuff that I knew, and the crowd had come to see HIM so he had plenty of energy to feed on. By the end of the concert he looked years younger.

Not so good tonight. Looked good, but I don’t think he connected. Not like Elton or Queen. Sad, really. He is such an icon.

  30. angelowal says:
  31. Ron says:

Thank you for answering my question, angelowal Kiss

Again, I thought it was a lariat but I wasn’t sure.

The link you provided shows an interesting and attractive necklace but definitely designed for a female. I’m seeing some on eBay that I would call “unisex” but they’re a bit “busy”. I liked the simplicity of the one that Adam wore last night.

So, the search continues. Half of the fun is finding just the right one and when you see it, you’ll know it, and say, “That’s it”.

Looking forward to seeing you next month!

    Heart

  32. HK fan says:

aww, wonder why it didn’t really work out with this guy?

    FABO ‏@FabEgger 15m
heared @adamlambert owned the night yesterday at iheart radio fest singing with Queen. Honored to have worked with this incredible artist.

Greenhippo…couldn’t get any livestream yesterday, so won’t even bother trying today. Never really been a fan of Paul Mccartney, some of his old music was OK though, don’t know JT, first time I saw him really was the VMA’s, wasn’t that impressed, like Maroon 5’s music, don’t like Adam Levine so it puts me off watching him, don’t know 30 secs to mars…..who else is on?

Gosh makes it sound as if I don’t like anyone…..

  33. HK fan says:
  34. Ellessay says:

So is Miley Cyrus’s outfit tonigh a cross between Lady Gaga and Adam? She’s got the fuzzy arms like Elmo and interesting boots. The rest is Gaga inspired, IMO. I know nothing of Hannah Montana, but I think I’ve made up my mind about Miley.

  35. Reese says:

Green Hippo first: I remember you!
As for tonight…Loving Bruno Mars (on right now as it type), but I’m a teeny bit partial–he’s a Hawaii boy. Think he is a good performer. Maroon 5…hmmm: did Adam Levine have voice issues, or was it just me? He sounded winded or unable to hit the notes he usually does. I think a couple songs were lowered a key. Anyway, they’re usually good. I liked Miley’s performance. She has a good voice and it sounded on point tonight. She sounds at least as good as Katy Perry. Anyway, these are just my opinions.

  36. cher says:

well I had to make sure for myself that they were
Louboutins and they sure are! Adam fricking rocked them!!

@Luval… thank you for your recap !! wow,you are so lucky to have such an unforgettable experience… I remember that amateur video in which Adam almost tripped over the cables.. Maybe it was during WWRY… but I may be wrong…

  38. rs says:

Thanks for the Yahoo article angelowal

    http://music.yahoo.com/news/queen-hooked-fun-iheartradio-192002065-rolling-stone.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

It is so important for two reasons. First of all, how terrible would it have been if Queen would have performed at the Grammys with Fun, but without Adam! Unless a condition of their performing would have been to include him in the package. So either a great boost for him to perform on that stage or a disaster to have Brian and Roger perform in the States for the first time in years as Queen, but without Adam!

The other bit that I love is how, In addition to all the praise for Adam’s voice that Brian and Roger heap on Adam, they realize how important he is for Queen

For Queen, the fact that bands like fun. continue to cite them as an influence is a tremendous source of pride, and they credit Adam Lambert for his role in bringing them into an event dominated by current radio acts.

“It’s just good to be here, it’s good to be a part of what’s happening and this is definitely what’s happening. It’s nice for us to be alive still and still able to do our thing,” May told Rolling Stone. “Adam Lambert is a great channel for us. It’s great that we have Adam, because he’s a bridge almost to the new generation and a wonderful performer. It’s fantastic working with him.”

  39. Axxxel says:

shortened interview of Roger Taylor and Bian May… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcNCfpM7KNc

  40. Axxxel says:

@rs… wow, so much praise from Queen for Adam…. Imagine if Adam did not sing “Bohemian Rhapsody” at his audition for American Idol.

  41. cher says:
  42. rs says:

Axxxel, yeah, and that was the second song he sang at the audition after Simon wasn’t convinced. The first one was a Michael Jackson song, Rock With You. They have just edited the film to make it seem like BoRap was the first and only audition song.

  43. cher says:

angelowal I flove that necklace! I just ordered one thank you. Floats my boat perfectly!
luval So happy you saw the epic awesomeness of Queenbert! Wasn’t that feeling just the most spine tingling gooseybumpy thing? I still remember feeling electricity in London. My heart was pounding so hard and it was doing it again last night when they were about to come on! Amazing chemistry. Even on the livestream his voice was filling the rafters of that venue!
texas you and Aely enjoy yourselves! You are VIPs to us always! We want pictures and recaps! Blow kisses to Avicii for us and of course at Adam if he shows up!

  44. rs says:

I have been looking at the photos from the show and I noticed that the whole band is wearing the same clothes, black shirts and pants. That isn’t usual anymore, and it makes them look so cohesive, and Adam is such an integral part of them. The “guest” is Nate. It is almost making a subliminal statement. Of course, when you look a bit closer, Adam is rocking those fab boots and that black on black print silk shirt is luscious. And, of course that chain that ron and the rest of us love. He is both one with the band and standing out with his gorgeousness and style, as he can’t help but do.

ETA. Rereading my post, I take it back, you don’t have to look closer to notice the boots, lol. They scream fabulousness Big Smile

  45. cher says:

I have been watching iheart all night. I only really enjoyed Tim McGraw and Bruno Mars. Miguel isn’t bad. He actually sings pretty well. Miley was pretty good voicewise too. Sir Paul and Adam Levine were a bit pitchy . So much swearing tonight in the songs, esp Kesha and Drake. What has music come to?
Watching Justin Timberlake now. Almost seems like he’s lipsynching. He’s entertaining but I’m not a fan of his. Adam is watching Justin. Pretty sure he’s going to tweet something super nice as usual. Then I think he’s going to take himself over to XS to check out Avicii. Think he’s DeeJaying at 2am PST.

  46. rs says:

Shirley Halperin’s review. Great, as usual, only she said that Nate sang three songs with Queen, I only heard two, or am I wrong Question
