A Queen fan may not enjoy Adam’s STL because Freddie’s version is burned on his brain

The big difference is Freddie is not available to sing it, and for some Queen fans to say no one should sing these songs is ridiculous. Sorry I still see it as apples and oranges. #agreetodisagree

turquoisewaters, fiercealien’s videos are always great. I think she is the gal from Toronto who first filmed in Ste. Agathe. Ron and the Toronto glamberts know her, I believe. Am I right TLKC and Ron?

oh, I see asif posted the 2 parts. lol, turquoise beat ya on the previous page!

  7. angelowal says:

Oh dabnabbit, asif I’m supposed to be making Sunday dinner right now, not watching those irresistible videos that you just posted Hypnotized !

  8. luval says:

Texaswannholdem, loved that the kids in the room next to yours sang along to Wake Me Up. It is really such a sing-a-long song and the lyric is great! Very hard to get EDM to number one or even top ten, though. Good luck to Lay Me Down.

Got my True cd yesterday in the mail from Amazon. The liner notes with the songs, writers, producers, etc are the tiniest I have ever seen in any CD!

  9. riskylady says:

For those wanting a great view of Adam gracefully leapfrogging over Brian’s cable, check Riddle‘s video of FBG, at about 3:20. Actually, that pic of Adam clasping Bri’s hand is seen closely in his vid of DA/BoRap etc. At the end of WATC it happens, Bri hugs Adam then runs over to the mike to say his name. Riddle was close to one side of the stage, got great sound and interesting close views of the action.

Now going to watch fiercealien’s vids, cause I might miss one nanosecond of AFL, and we can’t have that, can we?

I agree Nate really doesn’t have the voice Or style Adam has, but he seems charming and sort of entertaining jumping around the stage. Don’t you think Bri and Roger for sure realize he could never carry off many of the songs, much less a 2 hour concert? But Adam is a sweet and generous soul, so I’m betting he didn’t mind; I’m gonna try to follow his example. He seemed very happy, “instagramming his face off” with show pics.

  10. riskylady says:

Lol luval, I had to use a stack of magnifying glasses to copy the liner notes for LMD for TLKC to help her out of her funk thinking Adam got no vocal credit.
Love your patience with your chatty seat mate. Cool Yes

  11. TLKC says:

Thanks for that BTW risky lady. I was chomping at the bit for a while. I want Adam to get proper credit for LMD. Certainly, Avicii has been quite vocal in his appreciation of Adam and his voice the last little while. I am very curious about those 9 songs Avicii says he has done with Nile. We know Adam has recorded at least 4 of them. Hoping he will be featured in at least a couple more. Greedy Laugh

Guess we will have to agree to disagree, glambotgram. I don’t agree with Queen fans so I am not going to emulate them.

  12. angelowal says:

This is the closest I can find when I searched for those fantastic boots that Adam wore on Friday night.
    http://www.hisstylediary.com/2012/12/28/christian-louboutin-spring-summer-2013-mens-shoes/

Not quite the same, though – aren’t his glittery with rhinestones, not spikes? It’s hard to tell for sure with the way the lighting plays off those little beauties……..maybe he had them customized…….

FUN was totally “pinch me” – the way Adam was last year – so excited and thrilled to be there. Their Grammy invitation was a love letter to Queen. This weekend Roger and Brian wrote back.

IMHO, Adam totally honours the spirit of that. Now if only some of the artists Adam has “written” (tweeted) love letters to would be a generous as Queen. David Bowie are you listening?

  16. asifclueless says:

OOOOps … Sorry … turquoisewaters … about Fiercealien videos.

    Thanks … luval.

I have Fiercealien’s “A Loaded Smile” video from RR, Canada, too. She is really good.

Whoa the Laboutins. The slip-ons look really dangerous. Wonder how much they cost. If they have them for women, they just might notice a surge is sales.

luval and aely were so funny. They reported from the vanue but their posts seemed like there were in different concerts. LOL
adamized, rs, nkd, Miss Chaos, and a few more were funny as well. LOL The ways they were panic about the streams .. froze , lost it, the bears …etc … Funny!

  23. rs says:

Just watched fiercealien’s vids. The sound was great and there were some good close-ups, but it tended to be jumpy. Who could blame her? How anyone could stand still while Adam is singing I have no idea. I was in awe of Suz when I watched her video the London show. I have guests tomorrow, so I won’t get to watch riddle’s vids again until Tuesday. A few more thoughts though: while there is, of course, no comparison between the voices, I can’t fault Queen and Adam’s generosity in having them as their guest singers. It was a kid’s dream come true, and besides, Fat Bottom Girls was so much fun, they were all having a blast up there. Adam’s greater confidence was clear and he seemed to take a more “commanding” role, if that is the word. In FBG, he raised his hand when everybody had to start singing, etc., as if he was the conductor for that number, and when it was over, Nate hugged him and left without saying anything to Brian or Roger. He was obviously Adam’s guest, too

And he is such a professional, it is incredible, on the last notes of WATC when the mic went out, he didn’t even get flustered, he just kept singing that phrase over and over, louder and louder until the mic came on again and he could finish the song the way it deserved to be finished.

Oh, and I adore the pics of Adam and Brian leaning into each other. Such a show of mutual love and appreciation.

  24. TLKC says:

Holy F*ck! Just watched Part 1 of Fiercealien’s video! OMG – going back for Part Two. WOWEE.

As of now, I am naming Adam’s shirt in this photo.
    “The Jockey Shirt.”
Most appropriate, considering he rode this concert to the finish line, with a winning performance.

The trophy is that he past all the other performers, along with Elton John, to a photo finish.

This concert & exposure is crucial, and ranks way up there for star-power. On US soil, and amongst his peers in the industry.
He just glows, in all the photo’s after the concert. In Love Heart

This sets him up for Glee, especially now that this concert is being televised. The whole world will see 35 minutes, of brilliant real live singing, with no lip syncing.

This is a real possibility, because how many of Queen’s songs are heard during sporting events?

    WATC
    Another One bites The Dust

They aren’t getting any younger, and they just aced this concert.

I arrived home from Las Vegas at 2:30 this morning and am finally awake enough to do justice to my recap. I’m still using a “dumb phone” and had to rely on luval to give a running commentary at the show. And of course she does it so well. I was only in Las Vegas for one night, but got there early on Friday and left late on Saturday. We packed so much activity into the visit that it seemed like a much longer trip. Sleep was not a priority, needless to say.

Luval and I had a room on the 25th floor of the pyramid section of the Luxor. We had a great view looking north at the casinos on the strip and west to the mountains. I suggested the Luxor buffet because we didn’t know when we’d get a chance to eat again. We had such a good time stuffing ourselves with bread pudding among other things that we really didn’t need to eat again until the next day. After the buffet, we walked around to some of the nearby casinos to take in all the extravagant OTT decor. By then it was time to get ready and meet up with aely and Texas at Zuri’s bar at the MGM. It was great to see aely again and to finally meet Texas.

The MGM Grande arena has 16,800 seats and was almost completely full. The crowd was mixed, but most people were in their 20’s or older. After much deliberation, luval and I bought seats in the upper section to the left of the stage. We were fairly close to the stage and initially across from the front edge of the stage. After the concert started, we moved three times to available seats to our right and in lower rows. By the time Adam and Queen came on, we were in the front row of the upper section and across from the middle of the catwalk. I had my high quality Zeiss binoculars that I use for wildlife viewing for an even closer view.

I deliberately avoided all posts on ALL regarding the set list for Queen and the rumors about Fun before the concert. I wanted to be surprised. Fun was one of the first acts. Both aely and luval were right. Sometimes Nate sounded good and other times he hit some bad notes and sounded like a bleating goat. I also noticed that he had this performance style like Beiber and some of the other young guys where he moved around the stage with his knees bent doing these little bouncy jumps. Not too cool, IMO. I was happy that Nate was only on stage for 2 songs with Queen. His STL was just okay with a few bad notes thrown in. It was supposed to be a sing along with the audience, which didn’t seem too successful with this mixed crowd. I was greatly relieved when Adam came back on stage for the next song. Adam, Nate, and Brian did a great job harmonizing on FBG. I really liked it. I’ll get back to Adam and Queen later.

The concert was for the most part really enjoyable. We got to see many big name performers who we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Some of the music was not to my taste, but I could still appreciate the performances. Keith Urban had an engaging stage presence. The ladies at the end of the cat walk went crazy over him. Muse was wonderful, although the sound was a little off at times. I was hoping that there wouldn’t be any sound issues for Adam. (There weren’t.) J. Cole was just bleh (rap). I abhor Chris Brown and have no interest in his music, but have to admit, reluctantly, that he’s a great dancer and puts on a very good show. That said, I took a bathroom break part way through his set. Elton John was absolutely wonderful. Beautiful voice, terrific piano player and great songs. He was wearing a long coat with red glitter on the back and red glittery shoes while playing a red piano. He was so personable and was just adorable. I’d go to one of his concerts in an instant. Katy Perry also put on a great show. She was so cute and energetic, and her voice was better than we expected. Luval and I really enjoyed her set. Then we repositioned ourselves to get the best view of the most incredible performance of the night.

The lights dimmed and this tall, slender man in black walked to the end of the catwalk. Luval asked if it was Adam. I looked through my binoculars and saw the those magnificent sparkly shoes. No further evidence was needed. It was indeed Adam. Then the spotlight came on and we were gasping. He hadn’t even uttered a note yet. He looked spectacular! How does he do it? He just gets better and better. Then he started to sing and we were gone. Adam was born to sing Queen songs. And to hear him sing live with Brian, Roger and the rest of the group just defies description. WWTLF was unbelievable! I was standing there with my jaw dropped, mentally gasping, almost crying. It was that overwhelming. It was the best live vocal performance I’ve ever heard. The rest of the set was wonderful too…the vocals, the choice of songs, and the love between Adam and Brian. I was also struck by how confident and comfortable Adam seemed on stage with Queen at this point. I left the show completely awed and satisfied. But I’m still praying to the universe for more Adam and Queen. More full concerts, please!

So later that morning after luval had left, I had a latte and a fruit tart for breakfast, and then spent hours walking up and down the strip visiting shops and casinos, not spending a thing. Then it was back to the Luxor buffet to load up on more bread pudding before my evening flight home. I had very little sleep, but who needs sleep when they’re high on seeing Adam? It was worth every minute of travel time and every penny I spent to have this experience. I’m so happy that after weeks of indecision, luval and I finally decided to just go for it. She’s a wonderful travel companion and we had a great time.

Hello. Sorry don’t get a chance to post, but do try to pop over and read whats happening, when I get a chance. Just a lot going on and so that is why I have not been able to see any of the trespassing shows. I did however get the opportunity to go see the iHeartradio show with Queen since I missed seeing them perform in London. I took vids of the performance, but its hard to keep the camera still with no support and the constant movement and lighting changes. At one point I was getting a bit of a cramp trying to stay still. Had issues trying to upload at the hotel, and I just got back this morning and so uploaded what I had. I wanted to share them with you here because you were so kind/appreciative of my vids at Ste Agathe. I think I have figured out how to upload the full video without interruption, so if it works I will upload to my youtube account which you know as “fiercealien” (since it rep Adam when I was first enlightened by his amazing vocal/performance abilities). He just keeps getting better and I didn’t think that was possible!
Anyway, hope you enjoy what I got. Hope Ron and the other ladies I met in TO and at Ste. Agathe are doing well. My trip was very last minute, I only finalized plans to go in the 2-3 days before the show. I am also going to post WWTLF on its own as it was just amazing!
Thanks again, and sorry that I don’t post more often. Its wonderful that this site is maintained for everyone’s benefit. It takes alot of work, and is appreciated.

    Great recap, mmm222!

And for peeps interested I believe this is the Luxor Hotel bread pudding recipe. It uses croissants! No wonder it was so decadent! At the bottom is the “story” of the recipe.

    Death By Bread Custard Pudding
This is certainly one of the most decadently delicious desserts I’ve ever eaten. Croissants are by themselves a great addition to any meal, but layered in a rich egg custard type pudding is way over the top and very close to “Gilding the Lily”.

Give very small servings because Death by Bread Custard-Pudding is about as rich as it gets. It is also one of the easiest desserts you’ll ever find.
    Ingredients:

    6 large croissants
    5 egg yolks
    3 whole eggs
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    5 cups heavy cream
    1 cup raisins
    1 1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Meringue is also optional. See at end of Directions.
    Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Tear or cut croissants into 1 inch cubes and place in a buttered casserole dish or pan (which has a good lid).

Beat eggs and egg yolks with sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add heavy cream, while beating. Add vanilla and stir in raisins.

Pour over croissant cubes and allow to sit until all cubes are soaked. Cover pan or dish and place in pan of hot water. Carefully place in preheated oven and bake covered for 45 minutes.

Uncover and continue baking for another 45 minutes. (Unless you plan to add meringue to top)

If desired, a meringue can be made and added to top of hot bread custard-pudding the last 10 minutes of baking just to brown meringue slightly. Remove from hot water bath before adding meringue to make handling easier. Use the 5 egg whites and 2/3 cup sugar to make meringue and pile it on “mile-high”.

    Servings: 12
    Time: 20 Minutes Preparation Time
    1 1/2 Hours Cooking Time

Source: Our daughter brought this recipe back from Las Vegas. The employees had a big party when the Luxor Hotel and Casino was all finished and ready to open. This dessert was one served at the Grand Opening, and they “captured” one of the chefs and didn’t turn him loose until he gave them the recipe. Can you imagine eating something like this 5 times a week? I think our SIL did for about 2 weeks. Now, about once a month is enough. Smile
