This is a crazy busy weekend for me. Have to go get ready for a good friend’s wedding in a couple of minutes. She is marrying her partner of 26 years. Yeah!!! for them.
Been reading all the glowing reviews and listening as much as possible to you tubes in the small windows of time available. Adam’s register has even gotten more incredible if that’s possible. His lower register was so rich that I didn’t think it was him on Friday since my stinking live stream was going in an out (mostly out) for the first 3 songs.
Am so happy for him and hoping that Brian May is feeling that things played out well enough to start planning a WW tour or at the very least a North American tour.
Part 2(?) Had an interesting ride on the plane on the way home from LV to Charlotte, my connection. I was at the window seat. Guy on the right of me announced he hadn’t slept in 5 days, would I let him have the window so I took the middle. Guy on the left of me hadn’t slept in 3 days…was in Vegas to gamble. This plane was a mess lol as I imagine most morning flights out of Vegas are.
My left side guy wanted to talk, asked me why I was in Vegas, told him about iheart Adam & Queen. He ends up being a television addict. He knows every sitcom from Gilligan’s Island to Modern family, Watches every reality show including the Bachelor and Bachelorette.
He kept saying ” I’m a 49 year old single, straight guy but am addicted to tv”. Movies and all pop culture too. Music-wise he likes Country and is in love with Taylor Swift. He’s a “swifty” as I told him I was a Glambert.
He talked for 4 hours straight and he had a loud voice (the other guy snoring). Now about Adam. Season 8 is the only season he had to stop watching because he couldn’t stand Ring of Fire and the makeup. He hates the cross dresser on Glee too. So that lead us discussing judging people by the way they look. I think I finally convinced him by an example..”what if you were my closest best friend but one day you decided to put on a skirt and a wig. Would I hate you? NO!” It’s what’s inside that is most important. Simplistic but it was a bit hard to get too “deep” on the plane.
Anyway, he thanked me for talking to him…that most people he sits next to don’t want to. (I can see why). I had a puzzle book too and he wanted to pretend this was Jeopardy and tell me the answer in the form of a question! Yup, addicted to game shows. He knew the name of every big winner including the question they won on in Jeopardy,Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Every one!
He said he’d google Adam when he got home. I also told him he doesn’t wear makeup anymore but to remember he’s an actor and has been once since age 10. Actors wear makeup.
So Glamberts aren’t so nutty! There are other who have their own obsessions.

Love your story luval. Another example of Adam’s reaching out and moving people to such passion that they are confident to spread the word of acceptance wherever they go, even to complete strangers. This guy sounds a bit sad about his TV addiction but he has definitely kept himself distracted from the downer side of life. I hope he googles the “right” stuff.
ITA rs about the near-miss collaboration of FUN and Queen at the Grammy’s. If that had done well, FUN might have been the choice tonight – yikes. Thankfully, iHeart seems to have consolidated a general media opinion that Adam is the best fit for Queen in the absence of Freddie.
It was great that FUN had a chance to realize their dream and appear with Queen. They seem to have been a hit if you check out the audience in the videos but the contrast is all in Adam’s favour. A happy ending.

Checked out the Jared article. Kerry Kolsch is posting on almost every review that Fun shouldn’t have been on the stage with Queen. Honestly, Adam would have done a better job on STL but Queen has a right to play with whoever they want. That’s how we feel about Queen fans who say Adam shouldn’t be playing with Brian and Roger.
Negative berting doesn’t fool anyone. It just gives Glamberts a bad name.

Never noticed or heard mention of a wardrobe malfunction for Thicke. Wasn’t paying attention much. Felt bad for Keith Urban. This definitely wasn’t a country crowd. Is he really country? All I heard were electric guitars.
And I didn’t notice any hesitation or lyric mixups either.
Chris Brown was awful. Not his crowd here either. Just a smattering of people seemed to like him. I would have left if he were the last act. Like I did at the Philly jingle ball…left after Adam even though Eglasius (spelling?) was on last. Guess that’s just the thing you do in these multiple act shows. No disrespect intended. You pay your money for the act you want to see. Hopefully while you’re waiting for them to come on you might enjoy something else. People just mill about in the hallways outside of the arena area. I think the acts know this nowadays and don’t feel so bad.

luval, LOL, we are the same kind of gamblers!! I saw the show at our casino last night. Had to walk past about 10,000 machines and gamblers and tables before entering the venue.
And that’s just what we did. Walked right on by. Money spent gambling = Zilch.
By the way, snoring guy woke up and wanted to join in the Jeopardy quiz. TV addicted guy got upset when snoring guy wouldn’t answer “in the form of a question”. hahaha
I could tell people around us wanted tv addicted guy to shut up but I couldn’t say anything.
TV addicted guy had a very loud natural voice and would say “Adam Lambert” over and over again in the conversation. That made several heads turn around.
While I agree they negative comments made by Glamberts about Fun on sites does not look good, I disagree that it is the same as Queen fans saying bad things about Adam. Adam has the talent and the chops to do the job, the Fun guy was horrible and ruined the song.
Dont throw oranges or apples at me, but I never saw the FUN guy before, and alto he didnt do the songs justice, he loves Queen, and was so happy to be performing with them. He did say Adam was the best singer he knows, so good for that. And it did introduce FUN fans to Adam, so that was a win. Yes I would have preferred Adam to sing with Queen alone, but for whatever reason they asked MR FUN to sing a song with them.
My one big complaint about the whole show what it was way to SHORT! Wish they could have had a little more time for a few more songs, but they did fit everything together. I just LOVED when Adam started singing Crazy Little Thing Called Love, the lower register, he was really channeling Elvis in Elvis’s town. I got to watch some of it posted on UTube from a search on the TV. When Brian May came on and said something real loud I had the TV to high, and my husband came in and said whats the matter all the dogs are looking around. HAHA. I said do you want to watch Adam singing, no he says and goes to bed. Well he came wandering out twice to watch him sing, I just chuckled to myself, he did say see all the money you saved you can see it right here. Adam singing We are the Champions, is that the famous song, Oh yes I said, anything to let him be interested. HAHA
What a great night for Adam!!!!

I am having great time reading everybody’s recaps and adventures. Especially luval’s plane adventure. Most of the time ppl don’t wanna talk on a the plane, so this sounded totally interesting. I am a plane talker too and have run into ppl, who just want to shut me down.

In the end yesterday all I watched was Sir Paul, then I fell asleep. For my excuse I had been sick yesterday, but I would have wanted to see 30 seconds to Mars and JT, but alas… Hey that’s what YouTube is for. But first I am going to enjoy Queenbert from Friday again

Glambotgram, you’re talking to a person who gnashes their teeth every time they hear anyone other than John Lennon sing “And so this is Christmas….” Vocals are not the only thing that make a song iconic and memorable.
I didn’t enjoy Nate’s STL because Adam’s is still ringing in my ears. A Queen fan may not enjoy Adam’s STL because Freddie’s version is burned on his brain. Same thing exactly. That POV is completely separate from the quality of their individual performances.
Obviously we all think Adam is the best one for the job and a lot of casual observers (a majority, even) would agree. The critics have spoken and Adam is it.

I also am enjoying Luvals recap and everyone impressions, comments, and all the pictures, etc. I stayed up Fri. and watched the whole show. I was watching on my IPAD and IMac. The IMac feed kept breaking up, etc. but not the Ipad. ???
I was so totally blow away with how beautiful Adam looked. His outfit was so totally appropriate. He still takes my breath away, and that is before he even opens his mouth to sing.
I enjoyed some of the other acts, with the exception of C.B. That was a great time to take a bathroom break!
I admit I was very resentful when the Fun. group came on. I was prepared to think they were just awful but I kind of did like them. Reminded me of One Republic/Ryan Tedder – the way he works the stage. Then when Queen/Lambert was on I couldn’t stand it that Nate got the fun song. I was even mad at Queen for inviting him.
However, after reading everything this morning I have a different point of view. One thing that I read really got me was during their rehearsal Brian let the lead guitarist play the the famous Red Guitar. He said it was like a dream of a lifetime. So thanks everyone and especially Al for keeping this dialog going.

I used to travel a lot when worked overseas. Fortunately, our family travelled together.
Unfortunately, hubby snored very loudly and right after taking off while others were still awake.
My daughter and I sometimes just pretended we didn’t know him. Poor Dad!!

I didn’t know fun. before. I enjoyed his STL with Queen and I’m happy for him that he got to sing with his idol. I can see the joy on his face, in his eyes and his energy he projected. He was like a kid opening his X-mas gifts.
Of course Adam can sing STL better but he doesn’t own the song.
