After much anticipation, we are finally going to see (and hear) Adam back on the network where we first met him: Fox TV. He plays Elliott (Starchild) Gilbert on Glee and is to have a recurring role. That also means that after each appearance new music will be available on iTunes and Amazon! Glee airs Thursdays at 9/8c on FOX.
This thread will be the place for everything Glee starting with the first show on November 7, 2013. So please post any interviews, photos, links here and if there is anything from previous threads that you feel should be here, feel free to bring it over!

I just don’t understand how Roar has double the views. NO ONE is even talking about that song much. Strange, at least to me.

Roar probably has more views because the song is a current hit, so it would get crossover views. Maybe.
@nkd…I am surprised by Roar view too. I think it also might have something to do with the shirtless guys..Applause and Roar are the two current songs, so probably you have the Katy fans and Gaga fans competing..
Maybe Starchild is scaring some of the Gleeks.
IMO if Applause was the song for Starchild it would have evened the field. I hear it on the radio all the time. Isn’t Marry the Night from 2011? Somebody on twitter confessed they never heard the original but loved Adam’s version! I confess I only heard it once or twice. I think “Born This Way” was the real hit on that album.
But Marry the Night was made for Glee & Starchild!!! I’m gonna keep watching. We’ll catch up!

MTN is 75 on the All Genres. There have been so many new releases in the last few days, but that’s still great, plus the EP is much higher at #7 and they’re getting it too. Roar is at #117. Happy dance!

I was reading comments on Roar, and seems mostly Gleeks discussing Lima vs. NY, and Lovatics loving Demi’s one line in the song. But, MTN is the one selling and getting media/twitter buzz. Still, some commenters on Roar mention and love Adam.

There are other versions of MTN out there too…. I clicked on one a couple of days ago that had almost 60,000 views, plus the vimeo one, and others…..if you add all the numbers up its probably up with the others.

Re Kurt and Adam and chemistry…glad I wasn’t the only one with that surprising thought! But there was also chemistry with Demi. I think Adam slips into ‘turned on’ mode with performers he respects, and he made clear in the interviews/promos that he loved singing with these peeps.

Since I don’t usually follow I-tunes charts, I want to know if this is usual. I would think that just after a show is aired there would be a surge of people buying the songs and then it would taper off, but 3 days after Adam’s Glee episode his numbers are just going up and up. MTN is now 74 overall and 25 on the Pop single chart. And Trespassing is up to 87!!! Maybe people who didn’t watch the show are reading the glowing reviews and checking Adam out, which would be the best thing ever! I haven’t been following the charts to see if the other songs are holding their own or slipping but at least on the overall chart, Roar slipped a bit from what riskylady reported a few hours ago. It is now 119. (39 on the pop chart)
WOW! Got up yesterday and watched Glee on my DVR – three times in row. Once the whole show and then twice just the Adam bits. Then I went back to bed and slept. So tired but SO HAPPY at how great our BB was! Just reading Page One of this thread and loving all of you.
FLOVE that the Duke and Mr. Retjenny were triple-checking the DVR and providing countdowns by the hour.
Ha rs! You caught me. I like to do the rounds and comment on general blogs after Adam does something. Didn’t come here right away because I wanted to read all the comments before I posted and that takes time. Just finished and what a lot of fun it was!
Loved that there were at least two get-togethers: Adamized’s party and Mils & Mieps.
I saw sparks, too. Elliott obviously wants to be in the band and is charming Kurt to death. Not surprising, since Adam is playing the part, Kurt is feeling it big-time.
Honestly think that the horse is out of the barn on Elliott’s sexuality – the “Lavender Brigade” reference was pretty clear. IMHO, Santana’s comment about flirting was intended to whack the less subtle audience members over the head with it. Of course the band could be wrong about him or, as mils says, he could be bi.
The only thing I don’t want is for Adam to be a wicked or mean character. If he turns out to be the Eli that Blaine cheated with I want him to be just as freaked by the news as Kurt will be. He’s only got a few episodes this season and I want him to leave the show with a storyline that has people wanting him back.
By the way, did you notice that E!News graduated him from guest star to recurring character? You never know about next year.
MTN is an old song from an old cd. ROAR is current. No contest. Also, to put it bluntly, Glee’s fan demographics are more in line with Katy’s than Gaga’s.
I hope the steadiness of MTN’s hit and sale status lasts. Adam’s presence may not have given the show a bump but his strong social media presence for Glee this week might increase the video’s and the episode’s exposure over time. Glee would consider that at plus. Online talk encourages people who didn’t see the episode to check it out. It can give the video longer than normal “legs.”

I’m not sure there could have been a more positive response to Adam’s performance on Glee. I don’t believe I have seen anything below “glowing” from both the media and the public.
I believe we should be hearing an announcement soon re new recording contract and next album. Not sure I want him to rush since this period of guest appearances and collaborations is going so swimmingly.
Loved our little viewing party though I did feel a bit conspicuous with my non-ALL friends sitting at one end of the bar and Sparkles, mmm, and me hunched together at the other end trying not too drool or squeal too loudly.
I went out to dinner last night with two friends whom had joined us and they commented that we all looked like very proud parents watching our boy kill it. They both thought Adam was incredibly handsome sans makeup but were still put off by the theatrical Adam. I said that you either got it or you don’t. They then proceeded to ask me tons of questions about my take on his success and what he has and will be doing.
Sparkles, love your story line. Seems very plausible to me.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the story line will slowly shift focus to NYC and that by season 6 it will be mostly in NY and Adam will become part of the regular cast.

I must confess, I have watched Marry The Night on many of the reviews have been posted here. Do those views count anywhere?
I just cannot get enough of both the vocal and the visual.
There is just something in this OTT performance that brings me back to Glamnation, and even WAG last year. As much as I flove soft, ballady, and gorgeous Adam, I just lose my sh*t over OTT crazy Adam.
Guess he is both Katy and Gaga. So are most of us, maybe that’s what makes us such fans.

luval, I think views only count if you finish the video. Then you must refresh the page for it to count as another view, not just replay.
Not sure, but I would think that the views on embedded videos on sites would count toward views.

Hey ho everyone, out of lurkdom here. Wow such an awesome Glee, those performances have to elicit quite a few convertors. Thought Katy’s Roar was OK when I first heard it and never really listened to MTN but both of the Glee versions are definitely now I-pod worthy.
Did anyone else think that when Demi shouts out “I got the eye of the tiger” maybe someone else would have nailed it. She sounded a little weak IMO …

I too have never been sure about the views counting when watched on articles, as you never see the numbers. I’m assuming they do, but just to make sure I usually click on the youtube icon to make sure I watch it there and not the embedded video…..
And I always refresh the page before rewatching, it doesn’t count if you just hit replay.

Just watched that youtube of only the spoken parts…our boy’s timing is impeccable…and his entrance into the audition room? Timed to the nanosecond.
Was sorry to miss the viewing party in Maryland, but was at home all alone with my 55 inch plasma TV, so was able to squee and sigh to my heart’s content without any self-consciousness, so that was okay.
And there was ice cream.

One more thought on Adam’s first Glee episode. In a way, this whole episode seemed to be written with him in mind. General fans from his Idol days, especially after the AMA’s, thought that Adam was all Gaga – out there with the makeup, costumes, and wild stage antics. This episode showed that that was just one side of Elliot’s /Adam’s persona. Like the BTIKM video, there is a sweet “boy next-door” persona that is equally part of Adam/ Elliot and that diner scene did more to show it than 100 interviews that these fans will never search up and see. So bravo to Ryan Murphy! You’re doing it perfectly!
