After much anticipation, we are finally going to see (and hear) Adam back on the network where we first met him: Fox TV. He plays Elliott (Starchild) Gilbert on Glee and is to have a recurring role. That also means that after each appearance new music will be available on iTunes and Amazon! Glee airs Thursdays at 9/8c on FOX.

This thread will be the place for everything Glee starting with the first show on November 7, 2013. So please post any interviews, photos, links here and if there is anything from previous threads that you feel should be here, feel free to bring it over!

    Was hoping for an increase in viewer numbers (compared to a normal episode, not the Cory tribute one), but it looks like numbers have gone down again

    I’m sure we all hoped that would happen but the numbers are in:

    9 p.m. – CBS won the 9 p.m. hour overall and finished second among adults 18-49 with “The Crazy Ones” (8.07 million viewers and a 2.1 key demo) and “Two and a Half Men” (8.14 million and a 2.0 key demo). ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” was second with 8.55 million viewers and won the hour with a 2.7 key demo rating. NBC was third with sure-to-dip-slightly numbers for “Sean Saves The World” (5.58 million and a 1.7 key demo) and “The Michael J. Fox Show” (4.24 million and a 1.3 key demo). FOX’s “Glee” averaged 4 million viewers and a 1.5 key demo rating, down steeply (but not surprisingly) from the show’s Cory Monteith tribute episode, but also down a hair from the show’s last pre-“Quarterback” episode. The CW’s “Reign” averaged 1.7 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating.

    I don’t think that 4 million viewers is anything to sneeze at but let’s hope that word of mouth will push that number up in the coming weeks.

    You know those rating only down a hair from Glee last pre Quarterback episode are actually pretty good. A lot of cory fans have probably stopped watching, so in ratings it has held up well. Right.

    I didn’t get a chance to post last night, but I just wanted to say WOW! Adam was awesome!

    Of course, he completely killed Marry The Night. And I also agree with others that his acting was really good – very natural, very believeable. And holy crap, what a super likeable character Elliott is! That diner scene is almost too much to bear – with Adam/Elliott being so earnest and sweet and sminchable. AND sexy as hell without even appearing to be trying. His eyes and facial expressions are killing me in that scene!

    Too bad about the ratings not going up, but hopefully word of mouth will build viewership. Still, as Ron says, 4 million viewers is 4 million viewers. And many of the those viewers are very passionate about the show.

    We need more Glamberts on that Nielsen panel! Wink

    Glee is losing viewers because the Lima storylines at McKinley High have gotten stale and the new characters have not connected with the audience. More focus – even exclusive focus eventually – on the NYC storyline would solidify their audience I think. Obviously a lot of people are saying this and the producers seem to be considering it. If they do focus more in NYC, I’d love to see Adam/Elliott have an ongoing and substantial role.

    More important than and quite apart from the Glee ratings, though, what I see happening for Adam is a renewed interest in and respect for his talent across different segments of the industry, given all the cool things he’s been involved in lately.

    It’s also cool to see how much press there is about the episode and how super positive it is about Adam!

    The Nielsen ratings system has changed recently and twitter is a big part of it now. Even dvr use is being lumped in with ratings. Can’t remember when Nielsen twitter results will be in. I think it’s on Tuesdays.

    Yes, the rating were horrible with the anemic lead in, not helping at all but probably hurting Glee, of X Factor but even worse is that Sean Saves the World beat Glee. It could be adjusted some but it is still to bad.

    However, I don’t think it matters AT ALL for Adam. He needs exposure and recognition. People are seeing him act and hear him sing and the more experience he can get regardless of ratings can only help him. The only people that will think this is directly related to Adam are the Idol cray crays at MJs.

    All the reviews and comments on the articles are overwhelmingly positive and focused on Adam and then the writers of the reviews are like , OH YEAH, and there was this other plot that sucked going on around the awesomeness that is Adam… LOL

    Plus he gained close to 5,000 new twitter followers last night.

    I would wager it was a shock for those viewers who only knew Adam from Idol, as well as his “flamboyant” reputation, to see him sitting in that diner as a handsome every-day kind of guy.

    The juxtaposition from Starchild to Elliot in that segment is startling – must have made a lot of people go, “Whoooah.”

    As of about an hour ago, MTN was #31 on iTunes Pop and #84 overall, and Trespassing was #111 on Pop.

    ETA: Update:
    Trespassing is at 108 Pop!
    MTN Pop 31, overall 82

    The Voice right now is such a hot show. Any show following it will get pretty good ratings. The Crazy Ones 8.7 mil. seems high but it’s way down from it’s premier viewership of 15.6 million. Grey’s Anatomy…a staple on Thursday nights at 9pm. then the new NBC shows Sean Saves the World & Michael J Fox…right after the lead-in of The Voice…following it’s coattails. These are very hard stats to beat.

    I think Glee lost many of it’s followers in the last 2 years. Of course Cory M tribute show would bring back some of the original viewers but not enough to beat those other shows.

    Glee is a very different type of show. It has that “cartoony” feel to it at times in between the story lines, many of which are really great. But I totally see how it can turn off the average viewer. Nobody I work with will watch it although one of my nurse friends dvr’d it because of Adam!

    In my opinion you have to have just a little bit of theater blood in you to enjoy this show if you know what I mean. As I said…in my opinion.

    I am off to watch the show again! Such a great triumph for Adam. Stunning, amazing and more amazing! And dj Adam on Ellen Monday, right?

    Its a real shame about the numbers…but I wonder how ‘real’ they actually are anymore, with so many people watching on line, on dvr, on demand etc…….

    Love that acapella MTN, hope someone puts it on youtube….the only way so far I seem to be able to put it on my ipod.

    I cannot get enough of this.

    So, last night I sent this to one of my workberts. Today, she pulled me over and said, “OMG, that picture you sent me….I stared at it so much my husband got jealous. I need to make it my screensaver. ”

    Yup. She’s a Glambert.

    So then another co-worker came by, and asked what we were looking at. My workbert said “Adam Lambert. He’s so f*cking gorgeous, I can hardly take it.” So the other gal says, “oh yeah, show me.” So she did. Now, this other gal is young and smoking hot, she should honestly be a model. Gorgeous.

    She takes a look, and declares in a low and smoky voice, kind of groaning : ” ohhh. That’s…hhhotttt.” No way that’s him. To which, we both simultaneously said, ” oh yes, that is him.”

    It is an awesome bump but keep in mind 100 on pop iTunes is about 30-40 albums. He is moving up and that is HUGE! Who knows what could happen with someone who is really behind him. Can not wait for the next era! Love all the love he is getting!
