Adam joins Sarah Mclachlan, Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell, Roberta Flack and many others at the second annual Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home for the Holidays benefit concert. According to the concert website, this event will “help raise awareness about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth homelessness and support the True Colors Fund’s Forty to None Project”. Tonight’s show is taking place at the historic Beacon Theatre (capacity 2829) in New York City, is SOLD OUT and begins at 8 PM EST (5 PM PST, 1 AM Sunday GMT). I have not yet seen any information as to what exact time during the evening Adam will be appearing on stage.

As always we will hope for great photos and videos, looks like there will be some of the usual pic/vid folks at tonight’s show so we should get some good eye candy. Our dear friends TLKC, luval and adamized from here on ALL will also be there, hope you guys have a great time! Everyone enjoy the chat and the show!

Thanks so much for the datailed recap, luval. That is what I was waiting for.

  2. ultimathule says:

In that vid, asif – you can hear the note at about 8:45-8:46. Awful.

  3. luval says:

Whew…thanks, ultimathule! Glad you heard it. Smile I think Adam did too. I looked at Adam immediately & noticed a “look” on his face.

  4. asifclueless says:

Thank you very much luval for your recap.
It’s the first time I heard of other people and what they sang and did at the show. (Haha!!! we paid all of our attention to Cyndi and Adam.)
Also .. thanks TLKC for your earlier recap.

    Ulti ..yes, after party photo.

  5. Northern Spirit says:

    Great recap, luval.

Ron I also don’t know how Jamie does it but she’s got a knack for knowing where to be and when. Especially with Adam and Gaga. Re her appearance with Adam last may on Much Music, she’s gotten to know Jessie, one of the VJs, so she’s got an *in*, plus back in 2010, she got to show Adam one of her scrapbooks on TV, too, on Much Music, so I guess they know she’s a true fan, and fun. We’ll have to be sure to hang out where she does. Grin

Beginning to think you’re all right about Cyndi holding out her hand as a gesture of approval (yeah!). A great sight to see.

I love the little recap that goes along with this picture.

I love this as well, luval. It actually helps explain a few things to me. I am not a fan of Adam with facial hair, but the signing pics in front of the Beacon showed Adam with very light facial hair — hardly any. I thought he looked great. This gal also mentions his ‘ginger’ facial hair at this time. However, we all know that his performance facial hair was much darker. To me, this is where the disconnect comes in. Yes… Adam looks awesome and ‘natural’ with his jet black hair on top of his head, but not so much with the black facial hair. Ha, of course you all know this is just my opinion.
Please shave it all off, Adam (facial hair, that is)!!! Grin

Hi Peeps! Back from NYC and catching up on what I missed. I was very sorry to have missed seeing TLKC but at least I had a few minutes with luval after the show. Having my sister with me made this much less of an Adam-centric weekend then what I may have wanted but it was still great.

The show was much better than I had imagined. Other than a few of the performers (yes, I too could not stand the lesbian rock band) I was really impressed and would go back next year in a heart beat. The first song Sarah McGlaughlin sand was “Wish I Had a River” by Joni Mitchell. She did it beautifully but I love Joni Mitchell’s version. One of my all time favourite depressing holiday songs.

My sister and I were sitting in the very back of the orchestra and from that view you could easily see all the comings and goings of folks in the audience. The night was very casual and lots of folks got up and down during the 2 1/2 hours to get drinks, go to the bathroom, etc. At one point an unusually tall silhouette of a man with a distinctive pompadour and excellent posture exited through the far left hand exit doors. I knew I had sited Adam! It gave me such a thrill to know that he had been sitting in the audience with us mere mortals.

The duet of MW was incredible. I’m glad there has been a bit of a respite and that I could once again be moved by the haunting beauty of the song. It was perfect for this event and I think that Cindi was moved and wanted to connect with Adam. He seemed so honored and happy to be there.

Now that “scruffy” is turning into “Melvin” I vote for its removal. I’m hoping that he is clean shaven for the Diva’s show. Can’t wait to get a load of him on dcglam’s big screen tv!

    Hi Adamized!!!

You said what I thought too that “Cyndi was moved and wanted to connect with Adam”. That is the way I saw it.

After the show it was raining but TLKC & I went to the stage door anyway to check things out.I ran into the first fan I had ever met at a GN concert. In the parking lot of the Ramada Inn in Wilkes Barre Pa, the first show. Really great to see peeps that are still (and more than ever) fans of the man.

Don’t know now when the next time will be to have a road trip. Am jealous of you folks going to SF. Take it all in.

  9. riskylady says:

TLKC, luval, adamized, great recaps! Must remind myself to take it all in, you all did such a great job. I had to see London 3 times for it to really sink in. SF is only one *sob* and who knows when the next US one will be.

  10. dcglam says:

Loved all of your recaps, TLKC, luval, and adamized! Thank you for taking the time to share your special evening with the rest of us.

I’m hoping that he is clean shaven for the Diva’s show. Can’t wait to get a load of him on dcglam’s big screen tv!

Hmmm….. Only one week left to shave. I wonder if it is going to happen. Wink Thinking QuestionSuspense Fingers Crossed

Ah thanks, adamized! My TV isn’t huge, but it seems to be the biggest of the bunch. Kiss

  11. Kradamour says:

Facial hair does NOT suit divas. Just saying.
    No
The ginger isn’t actually all that objectionable, but when he puts the shoe polish on it for performance there is a definite Eddie Munster look. IMHO.
I really need to let this go. It ain’t that deep.
    Razz

Thanks to the terrific three for the recaps!
and I am so grateful to the ninjas who managed to sneak out vids in spite of TPTB’s best efforts.

Where did Jamie get that umbrella?!

  16. luval says:

Adam has always said what he does is “work”. Even the after party stuff…schmoozing, networking. Most people who have traveling jobs like that don’t drag their partners around the world. Great thoughts, Kradamour.

Eta…I noticed this just now I posted on the wrong thread. I will fix later.

  17. Northern Spirit says:

Hi luval. I asked Jamie about the umbrella. She said she had it made on a website called “artscow”. She has other Adam wear, which I guess she had made there, too.

For some reason, Twitterverse has been getting on her case about that photo, giving her a hard time. Sounds like jealousy more than anything, but it’s upset her.

  18. luval says:

Thanks, Northern Spirit. I love the umbrella. Can’t imagine why anyone would have a hissy fit about it. Bet Adam loved it too.

  19. Ceddies says:

    Bet Adam loved it too.

luval, maybe he tucked the umbrella idea away for future reference as an item that he might need to offer his fans at his shows.

  20. cwm says:

I love that photo. I think it’s adorable. Sure doesn’t look like Adam was minding at all. What is there to get on her case about?

luval, TLKC, and adamized – thanks so much for your great recaps! Love being able to hear about your experience. Sounds like it was a great show (with perhaps a couple of weak links) and that Adam was superb as always. Big Smile
