Ok, I got to Atlantic City early because I wasn’t sure of traffic, directions etc. The others mmm222, sparkle and Adamized followed a couple of hours later. We didn’t realize the hotel was on the water. Not the Atlantic but a beautiful bay, But it was so cold and windy no way could we take a walk on the beach. Maybe next time. It is winter, afterall.
AS I mentioned we had a lovely meal and then headed out to the show.
The seats were great. Small theater so it really didn’t matter where you sat. I was sitting next to one of the TALC ladies & friends. Very very nice peeps. They are not obtrusive at all when it comes to seating, filming, etc. Very low keyed.They had been to the Boston show & even they didn’t know why he dropped 6 (?) songs. The asked if I knew but of course didn’t. I saw Leah sitting a few feet away in the sound booth area and was tempted to get my nerve up to ask her but didn’t see her at the end of the show.
I had mentioned previously about how diverse the crowd was. I’d say about 75% of people were in the 60-70 year old rang. But it matched the crowd exactly at the slots. Crown was NOT sedate as someone on twitter mentioned. They were crazy loud…just having a great time. (I think drinks helped)
Adam’s “Glambert speech” as I called it was so heart felt. He obviously was aware of the ages in the crowd but emphasized ALL ARE WELCOME IN GLAMBERTDOM NO MATTER WHAT AGE.
Next to sparkle was a very elderly couple who had not seen Adam since Idol. I discreetly watched them out of the corner of my eye & they were tapping their feel, clapping, with big smiles on their faces. Just loving him!
The show: What can I say, It was amazing even without the 6 dropped songs. Besides Runnin’, CH, SW, TISI, he didn’t sing Shady or LMD. Fever was very long. Could have stuck Shady in. I wanted LMD so badly! Wanted that choreo. The crowds love it & cheer. WHY?? Let’s DAnce was awesome as well as Lucy.
Someone had mentioned the woman dancing down the aisle. The aisle was right in front of where me & sparkle were sitting. She actually stared dancing with the pre-show music well before the show started. Remember the crowds doing this at GN? It was like seeing a second show. She’d try to dance down the aisle, getting about half way and the guard would stop here. Maybe you heard on the audio that ADam saw her and said “dance with the guard”. But he wouldn’t have any of it. Saw her after the show & told her I was hoping Adam would bring her up on stage. She said all she wants in life is a big hug from Adam. Wanted to say you’ll have to pay for it. lol.
Anyway, I’m at the Sands casino now. lines are miles long at check in. Someone told me they saw me at the show last night.
eta: forgot to mention Alex Newall was fantastic!!!
Mentioned before, luval, saw a tweet that said Casinos like the concerts short so can get people back to gambling – makes the most sense to me –
Anyhow – glad Adam was in great form and that he’s selling LOTS of merch – guess the age range at the Sands will be comparable – hope it’s as lively as the one last night (like Newall’s voice, too) – you go, girl!
Great recap, luval! Sounds like a fun show regardless of being shorter. And really, money has no gender, age, sexuality, ethnicity! Why shouldn’t older fans love him, we have been supportive in every way, plus ways that younger ones aren’t always able. I love that he appeals to everyone!! What’s not to like in a great REAL singer?

Luval’s recap was great. It really captured the spirit of the evening. I’ll add my comments to hers.
The venue was great! The seats were very comfortable and it was configured in such a way that everyone had a great view of the stage. The acoustics and sound mix were perfect. Adam didn’t have to do the sound booth signal dance at this show. Adamized and I were seated a little closer and on the opposite side of the theater from luval and sparkle, so we had our own share of amusing crowd scenes. The crowd was really wild…hooting, dancing and carrying on. There were some younger folks around us, but it was mostly an older crowd with plenty of older men. Those old dudes were totally rocking out. We had a man well into his 70’s across the aisle from us who was sitting when the concert started and was dancing in the aisle like a mad man by the end of the show.
Adam was fantastic! He was so happy and full of energy. He was really enjoying the crowd. His voice was unbelievable and ran the full gamut from sultry to gorgeous riffs to full out glory notes. After Hours is not one of my favorite songs on TOH, but it sounds so sexy live. And talking about sexy, that shorts outfit really looked fine with the black knee boots and in no way detracted from his sexy dance moves in the last part of the show.
I love the staging and lighting for this show. I also have to say again how much I love this band. They are real professionals and really let Adam shine. Terrence and Holly are also perfect in their supporting roles as back up singers and dancers. And Terrence is even more buff than ever. Gasp!
And last, but not least, Alex Newell was great! I loved him on Glee and his voice is just as strong live. He’s a real sweetheart and put on a great show. He was in the lobby during the intermission and after the show posing for photos with all his fans. He was really adorable. He’s a perfect opening act for Adam.
