Adam hosts the 2012 VH1 Divas event from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. This show is a benefit event for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation. The show airs live tonight at 6 PM PST (9 PM EST) in the United States on VH1 (see world clocks below for Red Carpet and show times in your area). Adam will be performing at least a couple of songs in addition to his hosting duties, we know that one of them will be a Madonna song. Rumor has it (from interpretation of rehearsal photos) that it will be “Vogue”. A “red shoes” reference in a tweet from @Wildaboutmusic seem to suggest that Adam will also perform David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”.
Update: Adam did indeed perform “Let’s Dance” to open the show. The Madonna song turned out to be “Ray of Light”. Adam (along with Kelly Rowland and Kerri Hilson) also performed “Hot Stuff” in a tribute to Donna Summer.
According to an insider tweet (see below) “Adam will sing more than any host in VH1 Divas history”, so there may a surprise or two in store for us as well!

Morning peeps! So glad I can watch the show on-demand and not have to be nervous for any ninja rolls; costume glitches; etc.
It was so much fun to be in dcglam’s cosy house watching with other glamily members as Adam made his hosting debut. He did incredibly well in that arena and I am hopeful that this will lead to more of the same.
The reviews I’ve seen looked very positive and gave him cred for great hosting AND great singing. If people only knew how much better he moves at a live concert. Choreography is not his friend which is really surprising given his background. OTOH he probably had about zero time to rehearse any of the dance moves.
Loved his off the cuff comments and the comedy sketch at the beginning the most. Thought Miley was really really good. If you are going to go for the rock girl vibe you might as well push it to the max. Her vocals were strong and she looked amazing.

LadyNorth you can just google Firefox and download it to your computer. It is fast and easy. Then I downloaded the program ron suggested on it and I just use that browser when I want to watch blocked vids. I keep it set for the US or “all countries”. That way it doesn’t interfere with the speed of my regular browser.

jlurksacto, I always appreciate the lunches your bring and have decide that the ROL outfit has rather a Knights-of-the-Round-Table feel, when Adam wears it. A wacky but wonderful choice. It will keep people talking. Never a dull moment with our boy and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Was finally able to see a video of Let’s Dance. Loved it. Different from Glam Nation but Adam wouldn’t be Adam if he wasn’t changing things up.
Can’t wait to see the opening comedy piece. Everyone is raving about it.
Sounds as though Adam took a nice step forward in the eyes of the industry. Shoshanna is over the moon. People phoning and emailing her saying: “Who knew?”
He could host a variety show. People have got to notice this.

Off to my second sculpture class now. Instead of resting between the two classes I watched the show and read the comments.
My thoughts on VH1 Divas: Admit that I am not a normal watcher of VH1, only watch when anything Adam related is on. I thought Adam did an outstanding job as host, so beautiful and relaxed. I like Kelly Clarkson but was bored by her song. I liked Miley Cyrus’ energy and the girl can really sing. Jordin Sparks looked beautiful and sounded good. Most of the others were overwhelmed by the loudness of the band. The sound mix was awful. So much shouting. The audience seemed to be having a great time so I am guessing it sounded a lot better in person. “Ray of Light” had a weak start but strong ending. Have to admit that most of pop music is my not cuppa. Anyway, that’s my 2 cents worth.

But, I do tend to agree, alas, with Ron. We all know Adam likes to push boundaries, but, seriously, commando on a Red Carpet?
Oh, maybe, but, it is fun to speculate I guess.
Either way, he does look fabulous with all that animal stuff. Gawd, even his guages had leopard spots. And he was racking that “I’ve got a secret” smirk.
I also love that he was so openly affectionate at the after party with Sauli.
And, it was so great to see Terrance’s face on TV. And Johnny stood out because he didn’t stand out as so effeminate last night. He danced and was part of a troupe doing well. Which shows me that he is capable of stepping it up a notch and that his campiness in SA was purely for “show.” Good.
Adam is getting universally great press.

I totally agree with everybody: The sound mix was awful. Adam sounded much better in that rehearsal vid than he did live.
The singers were drowned out often.
The only “singer” that had a clear mic was Pitbull. But, he’s not a Diva, and not a singer. Can someone please tell me WHY he was on the show?
And could someone please enlighten me about what Paloma Faith is? Besides awful and weird? I saw her on TV this week ( Kelly Ripa? I can’t remember), she’s very odd. Very “artsy” I get that, but, hunh?
Has there been a translation or interpretation of the tunic?
Is it Greek? Latin? What are the symbols? From multiple languages and faiths?

Ahhh about the red carpet pics. I have to agree with turquoisewaters and rs. That definitely does look like the contours of his iphone in his pocket that we are seeing. That’s why it was apparent in different pictures, in different positions, and at different angles, Ron – because there really is something there (in his pocket!).

I’ve been hunting the whole evening vids I can see. Rs thanks, but I am too afraid to load any new programs here now because my whole computer is a mess… even this site is messed up, you all have different smilies as avis!
It was a very different thing to watch the whole show without all the commercial breaks, with good sound and picture (and not 4-5 am). I really enjoyed and felt I want to dance there too! I loved loved the first skit and Adam’s speaks, I had missed them all in the beginning (even his speak in a gray suit). Just have to say Adam was a perfect host and comedian, and what a costume changer! The “new” light color jacket was beautiful and looked great on him! I noticed many performers had leather and spikes – inspired by the host (vink)?
On a second watch it was clear that in some performances the music was too loud (or singing too quiet) and some other performers had more luck with sound things, they had better balance. There were some performances that I didn’t like, there was no fierceness at all – the same ones many of you have said. Most of the performers were new to me. Ciara’s MJ dancing was good and she had a good voice too, but her song was not my favorite.
Trying to cool down for the night (with 3,5 hours of sleep last night), maybe now it’s possible when I found and watched this show vid
I watched Adam vids also on a Chinese site, HD picture and good quality but buffering took long. I hope I manage to download some good vids! Finnish part of my twitter feed has gone nuts because of certain pics. Have to say I love to see Adam and Sauli happy and loving and those pics are so cute and adorable (big smile).

Had to watch the show from last night. So proud except literally just sat here a LAUGHED at my own lame ass on Ray Of Light. #wtfwasithinkin
Pretty much sums it up.
Think he overthought the ROL number – the aim of the concert was dance/fun – shoulda stuck with that vibe instead of getting artsy.
But it was weird enough to create a stir – no one but Lambert, etc. And, as I noted above, created some great still shots.
