Shoshanna Stone certainly was right when she said that there was “lots more to come”. Not only did Adam perform on the GLAAD media awards with Melissa Etheridge but he then did a bunch of promotion announcing “The Crown Jewels” Vegas show on TV and radio. Add some shots of Adam in the studio, the Attitude cover and article, and an Instagram chat. He then wrapped May up with another BUILD interview and a charity event for the Mosaic GLBT youth. You might just say that this was a warm up for the QAL Summer 2018 tour which kicks off in Lisbon on June 7th. Oh, and let’s do “Sunday Brunch” too!

That Guardian interview was a good one. I don’t recall him talking about the single selection process like that before. I was a bit steamed when he said he had wanted Cuckoo but the label execs wouldn’t go with it. Wow, what a difference that could have made for the success of that album. That’s the single I always thought should have been first.

I loved Shady, and Nile Rogers and Pharrel sort of riffed off it for their next singles – “up all night to get lucky”. Pharrel even said in an interview he didn’t understand why the label didn’t support Trespassing, and so did some critics.
The way Adam is opening up about FYE and Trespassing strengthens my theory about it being him who severed his Warner label relationship. That same RCA guy took over in January, and the great guys who hired Adam are gone to other jobs. I think the label wanted to mess with the way he’s been working on #4 and decide what he puts out, and he prob told them politely to f**k off. There are so many options now and he’s rich.
