After months of waiting, get ready for “The Original High” this month. We’ve been treated with 4 songs already but are anxious to hear the full album. Adam is out promoting at various radio stations, on TV and doing phone interviews. With “Ghost Town” slowly moving up the charts, it will be interesting to see if TOH becomes Adam’s second number one album. With timely appearances on TV during the week of the album release, his casual fans should be aware of the new music and help generate sales. Here’s hoping to a successful launch and that it leads to a solo tour!

    The fringes are back, & Adam is also wearing the black pouch necklace.
    Doesn’t Saulie have one of these as well?
    All I can remember is he wore it alot during the Saulie era.
    Interesting that he would wear it in Finland, but I am sure the Finns know all about the pouch necklace.

    WOW! I was just on Adam 24 7 and there was a flashing ad for Nate Ruess’s CD there as well. Probably not the best place in terms of effectiveness but, hey!

    IMHO, the facebook placement was a better marketing bet. I still think the only people to buy CD’s now are deeply committed fans – unless and until it becomes clear that a CD has a lot of catchy songs on it. At that point casual fans will complete their CD’s. Bottom line we will find out how many of FUN’s fans are devoted enough to Nate to spring for a CD they haven’t heard.

    I checked out Jason Derulo and his last 2 CD’s have clocked in first week sales of 43,000 and 44,000 units so he is a steady but not spectacular performer on the CD level.

    ETA: FUN’s 2012 CD debuted with 70,000 unit sales, slightly behind Adam’s Trespassing CD in the same year (77,800 units.) HOWEVER, it went on to sell 1.6 million units, based on the success of the single “We are Young”. That just goes to show you how much a hit single can do.

    Those numbers are pretty impressive back-up to Nate’s solo debut so we will have to see.

    OMG! My second cousin from London just followed me on twitter. I was her first tweet. I gave her my account name two years ago when I was there for QAL Hammersmith and she chooses now to get in the game. Maybe all of the hoopla about Adam in the UK made her think of me. So neat.

    Thanks for the Finnish TV interview, ulti. LOL at all the references to “homo artisti” and it was good to hear Adam talking about moving on to a point where sexuality is incidental. They mention being asked not to talk about Sauli. In view of the fact that Sauli was backstage with him, this appears to be part of keeping on the topic of the new CD.

    Thank you for have fun -wishes! Still alive here Big Smile Actually pretty damn happy. The phone was not working during whole concert, so I couldn’t tweet anything. I need to open up a bit.

    At my friend’s place, needed to “go to bed” early because I needed to see it on vid too Wink . I’ve been flailing about all the press. Over two minutes about Adam on national main news, that’s pretty good press!! Usually if some international star has a big concert here, they may mention it in news maybe show a short clip from concert. So much press coverage here, many lovely interview clips.

    But to the happening itself. I am so glad I went, besides Adam there was many very enjoyable performances. I freaking love music live in big settings! I wish it had been full of people. Not so full on the field. All the seats below roofs were full of people, I was there too. About mid way on side, but row 4. Peeps around me were mainly in their 40’s and 50’s. Also kids around 10-12. They had not sold the seats opposite the stage at all, field peeps got to sit there. I think people who usually go to field (younger peeps, super fans, rockers) were not tempted by this concert because it was 5 hours and only 1 or 2 songs by every artist.

    Music was mainly nice and enjoyable. I dont know if anyone watched, but some cover songs in English too. Beatles songs, Barcelona duet (!) and amazing Nessun dorma. But a lot of talk, interview clips and more talk in between. It was boring but maybe necessary. The whole thing was televised in meaning to raise more money for building that hospital – a lot has been collected already this was the end concert. The whole happening was organized totally by volunteers – no one was paid worker. All the mixing, camera work, performances, all for volunteer basis.

    They kept teasing about Adam few times, asked if there are fans (big screams from front row). I also sensed some excitement in some ladies around me lol. A bit before he came on it started raining. I had a roof Smile And a lot of wool layers lol. And food. 5 hours was pretty long shot but I took walks especially in the beginning when there was more talk.

    I was getting excited/slightly nervous how that all would sound. Some performers were overpowered by music (well they had symphony orchestra with them) and I felt sometimes the sound was bit muddy, even slightly distorted – I thought maybe the speakers were not big enough? Sorry, Queen’s perfection has spoiled me. But omg when Adam came on, no worries. His voice was so strong, powerful, like it is always live. No video can capture it. It cut the air like knife, crystal clear. There were two screens on sides they showed singer’s faces mainly, so I didn’t see the dance moves. So I just listened. It was incredible to hear it live. In that stadium setting. F**k that voice. In one moment a heavy bass beat hit stadium like a bomb. So cool! I want that again.

    I think people liked him Wink Especially the young ones on the field. And a lot of cheers overally. I am sure everyone, also older ones knew who he is, maybe some have even heard him sometimes on radio. But I guess peeps in seats are not the ones who have seen or heard him perform LIVE. Audience’s biggest favors of the evening were also two guys (younger and older) who have been in pictures with Adam too. They are national icons, very charming and liked. They both performed after Adam, and in the end was the theme song for project. I really enjoyed the last hour of the show.

    I had wished there was more than one song… But I’m fine like this too. This was a treat before I have opportunity to go to real solo concert. I feel privileged to be the first ALLer who heard his new music live being there in place. Because of tv they had very strict time when to end, everything was planned in advance (certain kind of program during commercial breaks on tv) and if Adam was added to performers at last minute, there was no time to do changes. Most songs were duets, kinda collabs between original artist and some other. And spread around the show, no one performed many songs in a row like Queen in Live Aid -85. The other performers have been involved one year already since the theme song was recorded and fund raising started.

    Will comment more and other things later, it’s 2.30am here. But I am still too high to get sleep. Birds are singing like nuts, I have window open… Need to see the performance couple of times again. Good night from this nightless night!

    I’m so glad you had a good time ladynorth…..I must admit when I came on here this morning and saw there was only 1 song, my first thought was of you, and I hoped you wouldn’t be too disappointed.
    He sounded and looked great….I hope a better full fan vid turns up though, there was too many long shots on the official video, couldn’t see him properly or his dance moves. I love that shoulder thing too luvalSmile

    I happen to be arriving in NY on the 16th, but we already purchased theater tickets for that evening, and I listened for the cue to call, tried the 800 number and was told that it couldn’t be reached from my area. So POO!
