After months of waiting, get ready for “The Original High” this month. We’ve been treated with 4 songs already but are anxious to hear the full album. Adam is out promoting at various radio stations, on TV and doing phone interviews. With “Ghost Town” slowly moving up the charts, it will be interesting to see if TOH becomes Adam’s second number one album. With timely appearances on TV during the week of the album release, his casual fans should be aware of the new music and help generate sales. Here’s hoping to a successful launch and that it leads to a solo tour!

    Posted radio charts but I now see luval has already done so.

    In addition to US radio gains, Adam is now 36 on Canadian Top40. We have more HAC stations that Top40 so fingers crossed that CHUM and CHFI start playing him after those wonderful interviews last week.

    LOLS on Rufus’s very blunt assessment of Kanye’s performance. Do you think he was privy to Dad’s thoughts before he posted it? That rendition of BoRhap was pretty bad and you can’t blame him if he hated it.

    RE: next single discussion – Hollywood Hamilton is the DJ who hosted the iHeart concert in NYC. In his intro he said his favourite song on the CD is EITN so he is just pushing for his own choice. Laugh The little dickens!!!!

    Whatever the next song is, radio gives a boost to singers who have recently charted well, so GT’s success contributes directly to the early charting on the next single.

    Ron, thank you for posting the latest pics. Loved seeing the necklace, your lovely face and perfect outfit. Glad that P captured the great pic of TLKC and M hugging.

    The Fault pics are lovely but I find it interesting that all these cover shoots have Adam looking so dark. It would be nice to see his smile on one of the pics. I am so greedy. We get almost bare chested Adam and I’m wanting a smile.

    ITA adamized. The OUT cover is not my favourite pic in their selection either. Perhaps it is an editorial choice to match the photography to the mood of this CD, or at least to GT. It is good to know from candid pics that Adam is as happy as ever.

    GT is on the Canadian HAC chart! It moved from 64 to 50. Not bad since the song only started up here a couple of weeks ago. Laugh

    These latest pictures are very brooding and also sexy. I think this is to set him apart from other pop artists. Who is he competing against right now? Sam Smith and ed sheerhan who are not what I consider sexy at all. Ed is cute and Sam is doughy. Neither elicits danger or a bad boy image. Maybe I’m way off, but these pictures are not only for his lady fans but for the gay community who have not always accepted him in the past. What do you all think?

    Very possibly, apal. Nick Jonas posed for some “gay-friendly” shots a while back. He got some flack because they were more risqué than this and in contradiction with his religious upbringing but they were generally welcomed by gay men and those of his female fans who had grown up with him and are now in their 20’s. This shot is much classier but in the same vein.

    Fault is so annoying with their 4 covers. Bekor did the shoot so he must know that it is sold out but they are still selling Issue 21 without advising that we might not get the cover we want.

    I got a copy in Toronto last time but Adam was on the back cover. I will settle for that but am otherwise not interested.

    There is a spot to add to your request but I am not going to rely on it. The terms and conditions drop down doesn’t work and I don’t want to buy without seeing if T&C includes accepting whatever covers they have left.

    Adam’s relaunch is looking a bit like Nick Jonas’ relaunch

    No two artists are the same. If you want to look at an artist who is similar to Adam — and few have done what he is now doing — and who start his comeback last year, look at Nick Jonas (who is only 22 years old — an easier age to do this relaunch at).

    Nick Jonas did something that few have done — moved from preteen pop to contemporary pop.

    Nick now has two monster hits on pop radio….[may Adam be so lucky!]

    #2 Jealous released September 8, 2014 radio peak January 3, 2015 [this was the second single released from the album, the first single and lead single from his album “Chains” initially was ignored by radio.

    #6 Chains released July 30, 2014 impacted mainstream radio stations on January 20, 2015 radio peak May 30, 2015

    “Ghost Town” was released on April 21, 2015. It impacted radio on April 28, 2015. It is less than 2 months old. The average hit song takes 4 to 5 months to peak on pop radio, longer on HAC and AC.

    I wrote “average hit song” because about 20,000 singles a month are promoted to rad>io. About 20 songs each month (0.1%) ever achieve significant pop radio airplay.

    > GT is actually a fast moving song — and it is still moving up.

    > GT is doing really well. To me, surprisingly well.

    > GT is just starting to get real club play! Smile

    > GT is just starting to hit familiarity numbers that are meaningful.

    About Fault pre-ordered right away after Fault twittered the link – so I will just hope that I will the Adam-cover.

    And about the pics — guys, you havent warned me about the possibility of being totally overwhelmed by his gorgeousness when I first joined. Razz

    I mean wth is he doing??? He does know killing off most of his Glamberts can have a negative effect? But maybe he isnt concerned anyway because ppl hearing his voice and laugh, seeing his performances, the pics, the glowing eyes when he talks about his passion ( aka music )…you cant help but being sucked in, captured.
    Even my boyfriend ( and he doesnt like solo-Adam Frown ) says his live-performances are so brutally amazing. He doesnt even mind anymore watching his performances with me, even if he doesnt like the songs — too much pop for him Struggle

    Gosh really promo is getting better and better and we still have about 5 months to go Grin heard he had promo lined up and planned till december. Can you imagine what that will entail? We are so going to get treated to more and more beautiful days…

    So going back to my fangirling, not that I have stopped any time today…

    Am tired of these magazines jerking us around with their covers. TV Guide did the same thing to me. I was expecting a particular cover & got something else. I was livid. Sent them a letter, called them…they sent me the one I wanted. Told them to never do that again or I would cancel immediately!

    The rest of her post (not shown) is really good, too. She says that releasing GT was a pretty gutsy move. It was designed to get people’s attention – it’s not regular radio fare. A “radio-ready” POP hit might have gone un-noticed because over 20,000 songs are offered to POP radio every month and they are all so similar. GT has gotten their attention.

    WB has really done an amazing job with Jason Derulo, also. WB knows how to play the long game. YAY!

    TLKC Thank you for linking that amazing post about radio air play and promo. I already heard many many ppl being concerned about TOH falling in the charts again – but really not so surprising. I tried again and again to explain that it will take a few months still its all in effect. Adam is happy, WB is happy, everyone is happy right now. The radios in the US are loving the song, but as it is said in the post, it takes time.

    My trainee loves Sam Smith and she told me that his first few singles took about 3 or 4 months still it got a bigger hit in Germany. So we still have time Grin And for now everything feels good, a good plan and its coming together nicely. He is everywhere without being boring, have many different promo parts going on. Thats good, really good.

    I replied to my confirmation email asking about multiple covers and that I wanted the Adam Lambert cover. I got a response saying:

    Thanks for your email.

    This issue has a reversible cover that features Adam Lambert and Nick Jonas on either side.

    One of our biggest dance festivals will be next weekend called ‘Sensation’. I wonder if something like this will be played there.

    Ghost Town also moving up in the Airplay chart here from #28 to #21. It’s now the most played song on our biggest radio station!
