Sweet Chris and Adam Reunion Dreams, ALL!!
It’s probably best that my original recap of my meeting with Adam on Tuesday didn’t go through because I think it would have been the longest post in the history of ALL!
So, in an effort to be more succinct …
I saw him, got his autograph, and that was it.
I think the moment has passed for this but anyway …
I arrived at CHUM FM at exactly 6:37am (I’m a stickler about time) in anticipation of Adam’s 7:25am radio interview. I wondered how many people were going to be there and thought realistically that my only hope was going to be a fleeting glimpse of Adam being whisked inside the building.
There was no one there! So, I stood there all alone wondering if I was at the right location.
At exactly 6:50am, (so I stood there by myself for all of 10 minutes) this black Lincoln car with very dark tinted windows pulled up in front of the building where I was standing.
The first car door that opened was the right front passenger door and, can’t be sure but maybe he was a WarnerBrothers EX?), then the driver of the car opened his door and he got out and there was only one more person that might be in that car.
Remember, I’m standing there by myself and I then see a man’s right arm covered with tattoo’s opening the right rear passenger door.
I thought maybe that’s Adam.
I approached him and said, “Adam, would it be better if I catch you later?” Those were the first words out of my mouth because I thought that he would be more available, have more time, after the radio interview.
Adam said to me, “No, it’s okay now … this is okay … do you have something ….?”

Picked up my CD from AO at the post office yesterday and I love it! With all respect to iTunes that let me download the album the day it came out (and some songs even earlier) I love having the real CD in my hands, reading the song lyrics and Adam’s thank you notes, especially to us Glamberts, and seeing that lovely photo when I took the CD out of the case.
And I got a call from the record store that TOH is there and they are saving it for me. I still don’t think that GT is on the radio here and it isn’t on the shazam hits list here. I hated seeing that huge list of countries where Adam’s songs are being played and not seeing Israel listed. I don’t understand…he is popular here, and has been on magazine covers, but mostly in teen publications.

I’m helping with our Pridefest downtown today – One thing that is very fun is a decorated boat parade down the river. Yes, real boats big and small! Visible to lots and lots of people whether or not they are at Pridefest. And who doesn’t like a boat parade? #BoatAmbassadors
Anyway, before I interrupted myself at 1:15am because my bed was beckoning … my bed must love me because it keeps beckoning to me every single night at various hours. You never know …
Our words overlapped as he continued to say “something for me to sign”/”oh, I have this poster of the two of us from three years ago at HMV”.
I’m also a stickler for words asif. I have this little tape recorder in my head.
When I handed it to Adam he asked, “Do you have a pen?” Yes, I had a Sharpie in my pocket and, when I handed it to him, I gestured towards the face of the building where he would have a solid surface to write on because we were standing at the curb of the sidewalk.
But Adam said, “No, this is fine here” (where we were standing) and I told him my name and pointed to where I’d like him to sign something. If you looked at the photo, (P took the detail of it later on) Adam wrote: “Ron I have ur back”. Clever!
We all know that Adam is a terrible speller and therefore misspelled the word “your”.
I had no idea what he wrote because I can’t see a thing without my reading glasses but I thanked him, shook his hand, turned, walked away and that was it.
But, that wasn’t it. I must have walked 25ft. away when I realized that I forgot to ask him to sign my TOH CD! Oh, no! What do I do?! I don’t want to “bother” him again. Not that he made me feel that way at all. I guess that I just put that on myself but, for a few seconds, I really didn’t know what to do.
I don’t think that my brain had anything to do with my body immediately turning around because I’m quite sure at that point that my body went into automatic pilot and just did what it had to do.
I turned around and saw Adam standing in front of the entrance with the two other guys he arrived with, with his arms folded in front of him, while the two guys were having a conversation. Adam was just standing there listening. They were locked out! You needed a security card to enter the building or have the security guard let you in. The security guard must have been doing something other than securing because he wasn’t there so the three of them stood there waiting to be let in.
I had to realize that that was the situation as I approached Adam again. Once more, our sentences overlapped as I handed him the CD and said, “Adam, I’m sorry but I forgot to ask you …”/”Hey, no problem”. THIS is the moment that I’m very grateful for because, while he was autographing the booklet, I said to him, “Adam, you’re the best. There is no other male singer today who can touch you. No one even comes close. I’ve been with you since American Idol and I’ll always be in your corner”.
With that, he did one of his now familiar, and so sweet, “AwwWWawww’s”, thanked me, I thanked him and the security guard let them into the building.
So, there was nothing else to do but go home but TLKC was going to meet me there but she hadn’t arrived. I didn’t wait long, less than 5 minutes, when I saw this tiny figure walking towards me in the distance that I recognized right away to be TLKC. As she got nearer to me, I saw that she had earbuds on and thought she was listening to music but realized when we were together that she was on the phone with M.
TLKC has posted all about M and P‘s arrival so I won’t go into that but here are some photos that P took. Understand though that P publishes his photos on Flickr and doesn’t want to show M‘s face on that site.

M and P have traveled all over the world to see Adam perform but she never had a photo of the two of them together. It was so touching to see her with Adam.
June 23, 2015 is going to be a day that I will long remember.
Ah Ron thanks for the memories, captured so beautifully by P. The best photo is the one at the end, where Adam is actually in the car. He is looking back at M and smiling because she is so sweet and poignant in her happiness that he has to get a last look at what it means to be someone’s “rock god”.

Well, Ron, thank heavens the security guard wasn’t securing – lol – love the stories of these Adam adventures – was there a frisson of excitement as the car pulled up? – there he is – whooooo – Was he as thin as he looks in the pics? It seems to me his speaking voice is lower now than years back – did it sound that way to you? Great post – any more details much appreciated!

I am so glad that you had the opportunity to express your feelings to Adam in such gentle circumstances!
These little opportunities to interact one-on-one with Adam are times that I think he also treasures. Far from feeling imposed upon, I suspect that your meeting with him was something that he reflected on later at some point – You make quite the gracious impression! And were doubtless stylishly dressed as well.
Thank you again for sharing your experience, and for representing his fans – and especially us here – so very well!

Darling ron, I know exactly where your head has been since the 23rd of June, and I am so very happy for you, as well as the other Toronto Glamberts who got to meet Adam, especially M. Both of you so deserved some one-on-one contact with Adam, and from what you wrote he was his usual gracious self. (I am waiting for a recap by M). And BTW Adam didn’t misspell “your”. He just used the phonetic twitter shorthand.
My father is home now with live-in help, so that is good.

I know. I was just being silly. I thought it was kind of funny though because he obviously wasn’t on Twitter when he signed the poster and adding a “y” and an “o” wouldn’t have taken too much effort.
I’m not complaining! I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s great! I do remember asking Adam to write “something” more than his usual signature. Again, without my glasses I can’t read anything, and when I showed it to TLKC she said, “Oh, he signed it AML”. Really?! His middle initial?! He never signs things that way. When I got home and could finally see it, what appears to maybe be an “M” is actually folds in my shirt.

Looking back ulti, I was remarkably subdued considering that this was a remarkable occasion. I’m sure that if I wasn’t by myself that it and I would have felt very differently.
Adam is much thinner than when I first met him 3 years ago. I wouldn’t use the word “skinny” or say that he was “too thin” though. What ever his current weight is, to me, it suits him perfectly. Ideal.
His speaking voice sounded the same to me as the one we’ve all come to know. No deeper. Just, the same.
Now, what DIDN’T I ask/tell him that I had every intention of saying?
I meant to ask Adam, as I handed him the poster, if he was aware of the talented “MLG” and how she made all of the posters for every GNT show and Queen + Adam Lambert. I planned to ask him but, at the time, the thought didn’t come to me.
