After months of waiting, get ready for “The Original High” this month. We’ve been treated with 4 songs already but are anxious to hear the full album. Adam is out promoting at various radio stations, on TV and doing phone interviews. With “Ghost Town” slowly moving up the charts, it will be interesting to see if TOH becomes Adam’s second number one album. With timely appearances on TV during the week of the album release, his casual fans should be aware of the new music and help generate sales. Here’s hoping to a successful launch and that it leads to a solo tour!

    Just watched iHeart.
    Loved it so much…Adam was happy, tired/loose…clearly in his element and there was a wonderful rapport with the audience. So fun to watch!
    That emcee guy was weirdly touchy/freely, though, to the point of creepy.

    I have very mixed feelings about buying TOH when there are only a few…on the one hand, a sale is a sale, and the numbers count. On the other hand, when we buy them and there are none on the shelf for someone who might be newly interested, will they bother to come back? So I feel like buying CDs is a double-edged sword unless there are beaucoup available.

    I am still waiting for my ultimate bundle. And for the Australian CD. Will probably break down and get in my car to go buy a CD in a real store but no time this week, the last week of school. Drat.

    My favorite so far after Ghost Town is Evil in the Night.

    ITA Kradamour. We should at least give newbies a chance to buy a copy on Saturday. We can pick up an extra on Sunday, if we want to add a sale to week one. (Also what if they buy Muse or Hilary instead?)

    Thank you for that other link to the AOL interview ultimathule… lovely interview, strange sandals… like his comment about coffee in a watercup… LOL… they should have given him tea instead hehe…

    Like someone said earlier… Adam really showed that he decides where the interview is going… doesn’t want to talk about Queen yet, wanted to pick the peole for the Q&A…

    He already showed command of the stage at the American Idol finale backstage after he lost… (and that is why I fell in love with Adam)… but now he shows even more command and confidence on the interview stage… Maybe that “little Queen gig” has something to do with it…

    I just read a Glambert conversation about Spotify. Apparently the numbers for Ghost Town have been pretty stagnant – at 9.095 million since Saturday. The theory is that Spotify isn’t counting the “Ghost Town only” streams.

    So, to answer luval’s question from yesterday, it is probably best to include GT in a shortened TOH playlist, perhaps enough to guarantee a play every 30 minutes.

    It figures.

    TLKC: it already was confirmed elsewhere that Spotify can’t identify looping and doesn’t bother to correct for that.

    The numbers are the same since Sunday. There hasn’t been an update since then for all of Adam’s songs and also for at least some other artists.

    The charts however are updating and GT is still going strong in the Netherlands with almost 60k streams/ day yesterday. GT however is not charted in the US yet, so I can’t confirm that figure.

    Hi skaschep. I must have missed that post on this site. luval asked about playing GT over and over again yesterday and I said I wasn’t sure because there was debate.

    I am just bringing over an update to that conversation.

    ETA: can you advise where this was verified? I would like to be sure. Currently I’m streaming the CD because GT isn’t doing much on the charts in Canada but it is starting to get attention and I want to do the most I can when it starts up.

    OK another theory about the stagnation of GT/TOH figures is that Spotify holds the reporting on the week of a CD release.

    There is still a lot of hope for TOH CD sales. Two of this month’s acts released CD’s in 2012, the same year as Trespassing. They didn’t sell as well as Adam did in their first weeks. They eventually had hit singles and their CD’s eventually went platinum:

    OF MONSTERS AND MEN BENEATH THE SKIN
    04.03.12 Week One: 55,000 Final: 1,093,000

    FUN AIM & IGNITE
    08.25.13 Week One: 74,000 Final: 1,600,000

    Singles are the key and this CD is full of potential hits.
