After months of waiting, get ready for “The Original High” this month. We’ve been treated with 4 songs already but are anxious to hear the full album. Adam is out promoting at various radio stations, on TV and doing phone interviews. With “Ghost Town” slowly moving up the charts, it will be interesting to see if TOH becomes Adam’s second number one album. With timely appearances on TV during the week of the album release, his casual fans should be aware of the new music and help generate sales. Here’s hoping to a successful launch and that it leads to a solo tour!

    Thanks for the info, ulti. I am constantly amazed by the breadth and kinds of knowledge this fandom has developed to support Adam. The determination and organization is something else. I love this week and I love all the ways the fans on different blogs and social media platforms are communicating.

    Yes, luval. Spotify and the other streaming services are the way to get GT and the CD moving up the charts this week. If we can bear to play GT over and over again we will be helping the single and the CD.

    I just turn off the sound when listening to GT on spotify.

    According to the link luval posted, the streaming helps the song as well as the CD so we are killing two birds with one stone when we stream GT on Spotify:

    The song is about to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart (on Bubbling Under chart last week), and radio looks at that chart which combines radio spins, sales and streams. Adam has said repeatedly he wants a radio hit and just last week stressed that’s his main attention right now and not album sales.

    Again, as a bonus: The “Ghost Town” streams on Spotify and on-demand services will count toward both Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart and the Hot 200 album chart.

    I don’t know what exactly where you are looking, ulti. For what it’s worth, everyone is recommending Spotify and several other streaming services.

    According to Q3, Billboard and radio do not reference YouTube because there are too many high trending idiosyncratic videos that trend for non-musical reasons. They distort the online analysis so they aren’t factored in.

    Does anyone know if spotify streaming is country specific? I mean is it only streaming in US which matters for billboard? I remember some time ago skaschep wrote a post about how major part of spotify listens came from Netherlands and Finland!

    I’ve been very busy, can’t keep up with everything. I’ve been at our country house from Wed to Sun, we had a cottage painting project there. But on Friday I drove to the city to buy physical TOH cd when it came out here Big Smile I have listened to it in car, and otherwise on spotify premium to account streams. I love it, the album is so great! Wasn’t so sure about bonus songs at first, but I really like Shame. Biggest favorites are in no particular order GT, ALN, TISI, EITN, Lucy and Light. Rumors and After hours are my least favorites.

    On Saturday while painting with a friend I was listening to the 4 hour Adam special on Finnish radio channel Voice. We listened to the same station on Sunday too, they advertised TOH album during every commercials! But I had more than enough of that station. Radio is not my thing, I return to my own playlists.

    Lottery performance was great! Cant wait to hear more songs live Smile On iHeart thing and GMA I think?

    If I hear “Ghost Town” one more time, I’ll scream. But then I’ve been saying that for the past 5 hours!

    I am still confused about where to use what stream on which day to what time? Question Drunken Razz Lol its a bit over my head.

    Ok I am using spotify now without shuffle mode streaming full album. Should I just make another shorter playlist so I can stream GhostTown more often? Should I play it all through the day and night? Should I never stop?

    That never stopping isnt so hard. Since friday using spotify at home, spotify and amazon at work, the album I got on saturday to satisfy my visual needs and still waiting for at least two more albums in the fan packages. Still think its not enough…Do you guys through this every time he released a CD? If so I may need to buy some more shelves…

    What’s with those British sites picking on lyrics? Geez, I hear so many stupid, unintelligible ones on radio it hurts my brain! I think mostly Adam’s songs are pretty cerebral, and some on TOH are downright poetic (GT for one). And TISI uses modern language, people talk like that now. It is POP after all, he references pop culture, urban dictionary, etc. Geez.
    Should just do “on the floor” or “baby baby baby” (no cliche there lol).

    GT is still my fave but I have to turn off the sound. It’s the first song out and I’ve been streaming it. So it’s played 24/7.
    My faves change … just depends.
    Right now … #1 is Lucy … run away ..ay..ay..ay!!! And Brian’s Red Special .. YAY!!!! Happy, Happy… Happy!!! Grin Grin Grin
    No skip songs on this album. All are so good.
    More faves are SHAME, TISI, TOH, ALN, RUMORS, EIN, HEAVY FIRE.

    On my way to Home Depot to buy some serious bug spray. There’s a hornets’ nest in the eaves of my house. Adam Lambert Medie aka @devenlane just posted the official YouTube videos for TOH songs for streaming purposes, so I asked her about YT not counting for BB and echoed ulti’s “confused” message. I will let you know what she says. In the meantime my desktop is streaming GT on Spotify.

    LadyNorth: Streams are country specific yes. So unless you are able to fool the system by letting them think you are in the US your streams won’t count towards Billboard. But they might count towards your own charts. Spotify (and also Deezer since last week) counts for all the single charts in the Netherlands. So I’m streaming those now 24/7. Deezer only Ghost Town and on Spotify also the album tracks, but some extra Ghost Town’s in between. I have them both muted though.

    Spotify will count all streams. Even if they are muted or looping. At least that’s the opinion on twitter.

    I’m sooo happy that Adam and Jimmy are together finally. Have wished him to be on the late night talk shows and the ultimate SNL!

    Can’t wait for the GMA, but I have to DVR it. Never get up that early … retirement time. But I hardly go to bed before midnight.
    I wonder how ulti does it. She may not need much sleep. I have to have at least 8 hr sleep.

    OK, I heard back directly from Lambert Music 411 on twitter. She says YouTube streaming DOES NOT count for the BB 200 album chart. It only counts for the BB 100 SINGLES chart.

    Spotify counts for both the BB100 singles and BB200 album chart.

    Knowing that, why anyone would stream on YouTube is beyond me.

    ETA: RADIO IS THE MOST IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW. That means BB10 – Spotify, Amazon Prime, rrdio etc.

    I only hope that Adam sits down to talk to Jimmy and doesn’t just sing like he did on Ellen. In most places lately he has either talked or sung, but not both, except for the
