After months of waiting, get ready for “The Original High” this month. We’ve been treated with 4 songs already but are anxious to hear the full album. Adam is out promoting at various radio stations, on TV and doing phone interviews. With “Ghost Town” slowly moving up the charts, it will be interesting to see if TOH becomes Adam’s second number one album. With timely appearances on TV during the week of the album release, his casual fans should be aware of the new music and help generate sales. Here’s hoping to a successful launch and that it leads to a solo tour!

    You are probably right, mils.

    I also forgot that he was conducting a TOH listening session. It is a bit stressful to present your labour-of-love to a group of strangers (even if they are adoring fans). Watching their moves and expressions keenly while they listen would make anyone pensive.

    We’re in the middle of Pride season. Are you planning to attend this year?

    I was actually bummed because I’d love to have performed at L.A. Pride, but I’ll be in London that week. Logistically, with releasing the album so many commitments came up to promote it that it didn’t work out. I think I’ll be involved with Pride up in Canada at some point and maybe New York,

    I hope he means this year. The week of June 21-28th

    Am watching GMA with Jason Derulo. They are really giving him tons of air time. Even presenting him a plaque for 1,000,000 sales for his current song. The host made a joke that his album debuted at only number 4.

    He’s in the golden club. 64,000? That what you heard GT has sold TLKC? Sheesh. Streaming it in another tab as I’m writing this. Don’t know what the answer is. It’s illegal downloading, those fan youtubes. His team hopefully has an answer.

    Will see what next week will bring.

    I should have said the platinum club!

    I hope people are coming in from other countries to see the show next Friday & that they are interviewed. It was always impressive to me to see the shocked looks on faces of the hosts that fans go so far to see a brilliant entertainer.

    Adam said Pride in Canada. It may not be Toronto. The Montreal Pride parade is on August 28th. The Vancouver Pride parade is August 2nd.

    FYI: this is a landmark year for LGBTQ rights in Canada.

    The 10th anniversary of Marriage Equality in Canada is just around the corner. Canadian Parliament put it into place for all provinces on July 20, 2005. (Our province, Ontario, has actually had marriage equality since June 2003.)

    David Furnish is the Grand Master for this year’s Toronto parade.

    Jason’s song is #1 in the UK. It will probably top the US charts this week (HAC and CHR.) The New York Times article said that he is one of the few artists to cross genres successfully.

    We have to hope that Adam’s exposure next week will give GT a good push.

    It is interesting to consider that Jason has only sold 1 million downloads. He is #1. How much are the others selling?

    I bought the Israeli magazine with Adam on the cover and just finished reading the article. It is a wonderful 3 page article and very in-depth. Says that Adam is the biggest star to come out of AI, with apologies to Kelly, lol. It goes into the label change, the new producers on TOH, what Adam has said about the new album (more personal and mature), his beard (how his physical image has changed), and Queen. The writer loves Adam, and is an old time Queen fan who saw QAL and raves about it.

    I am only sorry that this seems to be an entertainment magazine for teens. All the past articles and magazine covers that I saw here for Adam were also in publications for young people. I am, of course, glad that he has young fans, but I wish that he would get press in things that adults read, too.

    Stupid question……..What exactly should I be playing to give Adam hits? We don’t have spotify or the other streaming sites here. Should I just be repeating the official music video? Should I do it through you-tube or the one at the top of this page. Or is there an audio version of the song that I should be playing? Should I search for it on VEVO and listen there (if I can even find it here)?

    If you don’t have Spotify, rs, you can run the official GT music video at the top of this page. This is tracked and Adam/WB get paid for the plays as well.

    I am playing GT on Spotify along with a couple of songs from Avicii, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Amy Winehouse. I also threw in Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk. It’s better if you don’t play one song over and over, I hear. (I don’t know if that is true but 411 said that songs played on mixed playlists are worth more.)

    That’s all we can do but it will help a lot.

    Starting Monday, those who have Spotify can play the whole TOH CD on loop. Just be sure not to skip GT. We need to keep its’ numbers steady.

    Not a stupid question,rs. I use the YouTube up top. I don’t think it matters where. Maybe I am wrong?

    Just before I left the house was watching Kelly and Michael. They were discussing the Bowie exposition “David Bowie Is” which is in PAris right now. Guest was Melissa McCarthy. They couldn’t stop raving. I saw it in Toronto thanks to TLKC. Not sure why it didn’t come to NY. You must see if you ever get the chance.

    Hi jlurksacto (waves). I agree with you. He is the type of person who makes whoever he is talking to feel like they are the most special person in the room. He does it with thoughtful looks like the ones in the photos.

    The David Bowie exhibit has been controversial, luval. A lot of Board Members at the AGO here did not feel that Bowie merited a museum-level exploration and other museums felt the same way.

    It’s a bit of a head scratcher that the MMA in New York didn’t want it initially, since they specialize in blockbuster fashion exhibits. Their loss was Chicago’s gain.

    I think Chicago took the exhibit after they saw how successful it was here. Paris was late to the game, too.

    A docent at the AGO told me that the average time spent in the exhibit at the V&A in London was 90 minutes. In Toronto the average stay was 2-1/2 hours!!!!!

    I went back 4 times. The 3rd time I went, I bumped into my sister, who was on her second visit.

    Maybe it will come to NYC at some point.

    I just wish Adam could see it.

    Something is wrong with the youtube count. When I left the house this morning it was 4,397,196. When I got home it said 4,543,040. Now it’s back to the 4,397,196.

    It’s showing 4,409,677 right now. Someone on Atop said that they issue corrections periodically for various reasons. A big correction, though.

    YAY Calgary!!1 I had a bit of trouble with setting up a playlist but, eventually, I managed to add GT and some other songs to my “starred” list and I keep playing them on loop. GT gets a play about every 35 minutes.

    I can’t wait until next week when the world will hopefully take over.

    Does anyone have a transcript of the LA Times interview? Sadly, I have exceeded my limit of 5 articles per month and cannot view it. (LA Times must have factored into my early morning online wanderings more than I thought.)

    I just want to read the part where the journalist tells Adam he loves TOH but not QAL. I have been given to understand that Adam put the interviewer, who gave QAL a bad review, in his place.

    If this is true I want to read it. If it isn’t true, please make up something good. The main goal here is satisfaction, OK?

    To me that was the problem with the most recent Queen tour. It felt like you were fulfilling someone else’s vision.

    A:In what way was I not being me, though? Their catalog goes so many different places. One minute I’m getting to be super-campy and over the top and flamboyant and effeminate, and then the next minute I’m tough and macho. Then there’s a sensitive acoustic moment, then something huge. And I got to wear all the weird stuff I’d ever want to wear. That was all me, by the way. They let me run with that. It might be interesting for you to find out how much input I had.

    You didn’t feel as though you’d been drafted to fill a prescribed role?
    A:No. And I wasn’t directed either. It was a collaboration.

    How much room did you have to —

    A:Interpret the songs? That was tricky. But I wasn’t getting a lot of pressure from them. I wanted to make sure I had my moments of putting my own stamp on things. But straying too far from the original would feel self-indulgent and sort of sacrilegious.

    See, I don’t share that view.

    A:But you’re probably not a die-hard Queen fan. I knew that in this audience there would be a lot of people that were there because they love Queen. And winning them over in the first place, not being Freddie, was going to be hard as it was. If I went too far, it would’ve killed them.

    In terms of a creative experience, though, that restriction is kind of a bummer.

    A:I understand what you mean. But at the same time, that’s why it was successful. If I hadn’t found that balance, I don’t think it would’ve gone over the way it did with everybody. I mean, I think you’re in the minority of people who didn’t like it.

    Again Adam was asked about SS. Some fans hope their will be a collab between them in the future…

    Is it bad that I hope there wont be one? I mean SS is a nice guy, his voce isnt to catchy for me, a tad annoying sometimes. His lyrics are really good though. But what I dont get – I have heard Adam being asked about SS in so many interviews already, he always has only praises for SS. But I have never heard SS saying anything positive about Adam. Not once…Ok that sounds a bit petty on my side… hm dont know what to think about all this. Maybe after TOH will be worldwide hit we get to hear what SS has to say about Adam?

    And SS is still played on radio without break in Germany. I think there are about 4 or 5 songs that are going be played daily and on repeat and that for months now. Throw in some Ellie Goulding, Jason Derulo and Avicii and you almost have the german radio playlist XD

    Thanks luval! As disses go that is pretty good.

    IMHO, real artists thrive in restrictive circumstances. They see it as a challenge. (That’s why Jerry Seinfeld is getting dissed by so many comedians right now. He is brilliant! If he can’t find a way around PC then it’s time for him to get out.)

    Adam is the one of the very few who can meet the QAL challenge. The interviewer isn’t into Queen enough to get it.
