After months of waiting, get ready for “The Original High” this month. We’ve been treated with 4 songs already but are anxious to hear the full album. Adam is out promoting at various radio stations, on TV and doing phone interviews. With “Ghost Town” slowly moving up the charts, it will be interesting to see if TOH becomes Adam’s second number one album. With timely appearances on TV during the week of the album release, his casual fans should be aware of the new music and help generate sales. Here’s hoping to a successful launch and that it leads to a solo tour!

    First a comment, then a question:
    I listened to the Jason Derulo and for the life of me can’t understand why it is no.5. Perhaps the young aren’t interested in intelligent and nuanced music.

    Question: Despite all of you who tried to explain how songs get rated, and how to help, I was left in the starting blocks, and, living in Canada, it seemed to me that not much applied to here. BUT – should I be continually streaming GT and the other songs? Or does it just count as one because the requests are all from the same computer?

    calgary, I think you can stream GT…for example from the link above…as many times as you want. They will each count but definitely refresh before the next play.

    Hi Calgary! I feel the same way about Jason Derulo’s song and it is actually #2 on HAC. He sells singles – that’s just the way it works with his fans. They love him the way we love Adam.

    JD’s single is probably being streamed a lot by casual fans and that is why his CD got a big boost.

    Adam’s single isn’t as high but we are playing all of the tracks on his CD so that is a major plus.

    Right now we need to boost Ghost Town. On HAC, the songs below GT are trending up at a higher rate and the songs above GT aren’t slipping. (Top 40 looks a bit better.)

    If we give GT a bit more love this week, Adam will have momentum next week. With luck, the promo will draw in more fans and we can take a bit of a rest. Big Smile

    GT isn’t getting much attention from radio in Canada but we might as well go with the US program and hope that success in the US will give it a leg up here.

    LOL. That reviewer echoed what I and others have said about Nate seeming manic and vocally out of control. He used to be quite entertaining and talented. I loved him with Pink and on Fun’s big hits. But with Queen he was fracking horrible and on TV lately he’s just horrid. Methinks he has way too many “yes” men, he needs to take some time off to reboot and see his doctors and likely take his meds.

    I’m not trying to sound offensive, but, as a health care worker, sheesh , just look at his eyes. Manic/frantic and not well. And, he sounds like a pile of crap.

    I fully expecting to not like the bonus tracks – but I do like them. Can’t even decide yet in what order. Definitely also like “After Hours”, getting the sam vibe as twilightmagic.

    I have a tech question guys. I can’t stream the album on my phone or new tablet. Do I need to install some kind of app? You Tube works just fine, I have adobe flash player in both, but, streaming doesn’t work.

    And, why wouldn’t the links for the new songs work?

    glambot’s link worked great.

    Gah. Gonna need new skills to keep up in era 3.

    Since I am streaming GT in a loop pretty much all day long, and I was worried if those listens counted, I did a little research and found this from someone who says he is a Spotity sofewaRe developer in answer to a question from a concerned user. I did a little checking and he seems to work for Spotify. This answer is about a year old.

    QUESTION:
    If I play the same song over and over on Spotify, will all those plays/listens contribute to revenue for an artist or is there a maximum number of repeat plays permitted, per user, per day, that result in revenue for an artist?

    ANSWER:

    Mattias Petter Johansson, Developer @ Spotify.

    From a technical standpoint, we have no such max limit. There might be possibly be some in individual deals or some anti-spam measure to prevent intentional misuse, but I think it’s safe to say that it’s really good for an artist if you play their song on loop all day.

    mils the album stream doesn’t work on mobile devices, only on computers/laptops.

    I CANNOT get TOH the song out of my head!! I love it, but also love ALN which has been vanquished from my brain! It must be the speed factor – 150 mph got me going.
    The bonus songs are so fun – cheeky, saucy. “Effervescent” is right! I identify with After Hours – loved that late night club atmosphere, slightly dangerous, adventurous, back in the day – used to sneak out for after-hours jam sessions with musician, theatre friends. Fellow college students bored me. Devil Devil Evil Grin Evil Grin

    glambotgram– Thanks for the link to the bonus tracks. I was having trouble opening them too, but that link worked. They’re so different from the rest of the album, but I think they’ll grow on me after I hear them a few times. I streamed the album tonight and then listened to TOH and Lucy on continuous repeat for a while. I love everything about both of those songs, especially Adam’s vocal acrobatics.

    I took wicked pleasure in reading the PressPlay review of Nate’s solo album. Earlier this evening I decided to check out Nate’s solo work on YouTube to see if perhaps I was being too harsh on him. I listened to the “Nothing Without Love” video and a small portion of a live performance of it, and, believe me, my opinion did not change at all. He sounds awful, substituting shouting for anything remotely resembling a melody. It’s painful to listen to him. I totally agree with mils’ comments on him.

    I like the fact that each of the bonus tracks are unique and will appeal to different groups of listeners. Not sure which is my favorite of the three – that will require more than one listen!
