– this is his 4th CD in 5 years

ETA: his last two CD’s have sold approximately the same number in their first week: 43-44,000. His label actually converted his last CD release into an EP at the last minute. They then released it a year later with new songs added. That means the early sales were not good.

It is interesting to see a final number for Trespassing = 197,000 units. Not bad at all.

There are a couple of huge releases next week, whose sales success may bleed into the following week. Muse’s CD, in particular, may chart well for a few weeks. Their single is currently #1 on the Alternative Rock Chart and #10 on the Active Rock chart.

In some cases listening to the stream is so bad. I need to listen to one song again and again before going to another one but not possible on the stream. Am a bit nuts about new music XD
BUT I cant just not listen. I need to hear it. So controverse atm.
My impressions on the first listen:
– The Original High: Oh yes I love it. Its another earhook. Chasing and chasing. I love it. In the beginning I needed a bit to get into it but once I heard the chorus I was hooked!
– There I Said It: omg…It left me in tears. The emotions…you can feel them in the lyrics, the love, the pain, the end of it. I cant imagine how it will sound on stage, maybe an acoustic version. Its powerful, so powerful…
-Rumors: Oh baby yes pls. Its amazing. I hear alot of Tove Lo’s style in that song. I love her album “Queen of the clouds” Bought it as a birthday present for myself
Their voices really are so good together, such a great harmony.
– Lucy: I thought ALN was a more Queen track. It is but early Queen era. Lucy is so right in the late 80s/early 90s era of Queen. How can you describe that song? Amazing doesnt cut it. Fabulous, fantastic? Instantly in love with it. Brian and Adam are such a great team.
– Things I Didnt Say: Have to listen to it a bit more. The “thumping” is a bit distracting, have to get used to it. Or is it just my speakers on laptop?
– The Light: Hm really electronic, dancy kind of song. Not really my fav. Feel ported right back into a dance club in the nineties. Maybe listen to it after some drinks will get me into it
– Heavy Fire: Yep more my thing, couldnt really sit still and listen to it, right away had to some swingy dancy moves around the room. Its nice, really nice. Not so funky, a bit slower beat. Love his vocals.
The whole album is amazing – two, three songs I need to get used too – but all in all its great, wow, he matured so much. But I am glad that every now and then there is still some wailing lol
His vocals are AMAZING. Nothing else. So diverse, so contrary. The darker, heavier note is a line through all the songs, left me a bit moody but in the same time I have to listen to it again and again to help me get out of my moody space – does that even make sense?
I am blown away!

OMG just listened to There I Said It, crying my eyes out! Don’t think I have ever heard such a poignant, intimate song about the feelings when things start going wrong. My heart breaks for Adam and Sauli!
Being in a happy marriage for years, you kind of forget those wrenching emotions but this definitely takes you there.
cait, I agree what you say about not being able to listen a track again in repeat. That’s why I have listened to the whole thing 6 rounds now and desperately need the 7th… I need to get into the songs a bit more before letting out feelings. I really need to read lyrics before I can really understand what they say / might mean, it’s too difficult to hear or process while listening.
One that hit me hard iimmediately is There I said it. It’s so sad, beautiful, honest with incredibly beautiful vocals. It came to my mind that it might be written from Sauli’s perspective and someone else tweeted about the same thing. What do you think riskylady?
The album is brilliant, even though I like some vibes and beats more than the others they are all great masterpieces in their category. I love There I said it, Lucy and Heavy fire, TOH is really growing on me. Light is a great club song but for the same reason not my biggest favor. And haven’t warmed up to Rumors yet. Can’t wait to hear the bonus tracks.
