After months of waiting, get ready for “The Original High” this month. We’ve been treated with 4 songs already but are anxious to hear the full album. Adam is out promoting at various radio stations, on TV and doing phone interviews. With “Ghost Town” slowly moving up the charts, it will be interesting to see if TOH becomes Adam’s second number one album. With timely appearances on TV during the week of the album release, his casual fans should be aware of the new music and help generate sales. Here’s hoping to a successful launch and that it leads to a solo tour!

    LadyNorth Thank you for your recap. So happy you had a good time yesterday! I was watching the last half of the concert and it was amazing, really. Some performances were so beautiful, I looked up some of the singers afterwards because their music haunted me.
    I cant even imagine how Adam did sound yesterday. On stream it was amazing, so clear and powerful at the same time. That boy is a stage boy through and through. He needs to be on a stage and so glad he can finally bring out his own music again.

    What a ride the last few weeks. Still catching up lol My head is spinning – I wonder if there is more than one Adam…how does he do it and still look so gorgeous?

    5 days – I will survive these 5 days somehow till I get my hands on “The Original High”

    LadyNorth, you are a gem! I can just see you telling your friends that you are tired and need to go to bed, and then privately flailing and writing that wonderful recap for us. Thank you so much. I was worried about you when I saw the rain and just the single song from Adam, so I am glad that you enjoyed the whole show. Adam looked and sounded fantastic, so I can only imagine what it sounded like live. I think that was the best performance so far of GT. And we know that with time it will get better and betterer.

    Morning Cait IKR, Adam is at his best while on stage performing. He calls it his “Happy Place” Grin, and he certainly makes us happy watching him there.

    Is the CD coming out on the 12th in Germany? In the US they have to wait till the 16th. I guess that once it is out somewhere in the world we will all be able to hear the songs. I ordered the cd from AO as well as the iTunes one for downloading while I wait. I hope that it will be in stores here, the other ones were, but I haven’t heard GT on the radio here.

    I loved Lyndsey’s track by track guide. I was waiting for her to hear the album and comment on it. Now we just have to wait for another great Adam interview with her. It will probably have to wait until he gets back to LA from New York

    Lol rs for my tiredness. Well I had already spent Friday evening and Saturday before concert with my friend and she was tired too, so I thought I was polite enough, first chatted for an hour. My back needed seriously laying down after that 5 hours. Tablet is handy then!

    It was amazing performance. He said in some interview he was very tired, but audience energizes him. He is so confident. I can see him command Rock in Rio… Still amazed about the main news clip about him. They seldom do things like that.

    At another friend now, got to go. cait I’ll chat with you later more about the music!

    He seems so happy on stage, yes. It warms my heart and makes me all giddy. And that I have never expierenced before. I mean seeing vids of Freddie on stage comes close but Adam is a whole other things. Freddie commanded attention and was such a powerful presence on stage. You couldnt look away and I was captivated right away. Adam has this power too but he get attention through his happy natural charasmatic present on stage. Seeing him perform you cant be anything but smiley happy about it

    I will never forget the Ste Agathe concert, Adam had not performed on stage for ages, and he was openly so thrilled to be there and so obviously needed to reconnect to us…he sat on the edge of the stage and leaned out, asked us what we had been doing since the last time we were together, it was oddly intimate in that crowd of thousands. Adam seems to be genuinely curious about his fans, in a way that I don’t think other performers are. His Twitter parties ‘ask me anything!’ flow from that.
    When he is on stage, his performance is a conversation with us (and we know how Adam loves to talk!), in a way that I don’t really think is true for most other performers.

    Writing music, performing in a studio…that is monologue. Adam craves dialog, and finds it on stage.

    The comments posted to the Lyndsey Parker article are a reminder that we are still in our snow-globe bubble…the bubble has grown and is much larger than it was, but I am wishing fervently that this is the album that shatters it.

    Ghost Town advertisement on a UK breakfast show. Sir Ian McKellan on the right dancing up a storm. He is such a pop fan boy. I saw him on a Graham Norton re-run last night. He was sitting with One Direction and it was hilarious – I think he likes Harry and Harry was playing up to him. Very cute.

    I would love to see him with Adam.

    I don’t know if this means anything but, on iTunes Canada, if you view the available songs on TOH, their popularity bars are all high. If you view the available songs on Nate Ruess’s CD, only one of them has a decent popularity ranking.

    I don’t know if these bars reflect sales but am hopeful Big Smile

    Here is a list of the Top 10 CD sales in the US for June 2. It shows just how hard it is to debut at 100,000 unit sales.

    The HDD chart will start reporting last week’s sales tomorrow and the final report will be on June 9th. Adam won’t appear until June 23rd but, in the meantime, it provides some perspective on the dismal state of the music business.

    TLKC…I am the most nervous to see first week’s sales. And it’s coming up pretty quick. TOH means so much to him…the tattoo and all. Just hope people don’t illegally download the album when it streams ahead of time or even when it’s officially out. I listened to Ryan Seacrest this morning & GT was the subway fresh song of the week. Well we knew that because of the voting but will it ever get on top 40 on his show?

    Maybe things like this are just slow in this day & age. PD’s have their favorites…if I hear that Nick Jonas song Chains one more time I’m going to scream…..Lyndsey Parker is right that Underground could fit into Jonas’s album. Same vibe but Adam’s voice is so much better.

    Taylor Swift, Iggy, Niki, Derulo, Pitbull, Usher…they will all rule for some time to come. It’s hard for any artist to break into this club. There’s no solution for this no matter how good the song is. We’re in this bubble and it’s made of glass.
