Adam calendar photoshoot – Lee Cherry of Cherry Soda Studios

After what seems like an eternity after announcing the Queen + Adam Lambert tour in March, it will finally happen. Adam is in London preparing before the show kicks off in Chicago on June 19th! Plenty of ALLers will be attending the shows and as usual, we will be creating souvenir threads. Cannot wait to see the videos, photos and recaps!

Thanks for posting the ATT video. Just watched it in it’s entirety. Adam was great throughout. Very thoughtful questions. Didn’t drag for me but the telephone book wouldn’t drag for me if Adam was reading it.

I loved the Texas fan’s thoughts on how much it means to be a fan. Adam obviously takes pride and pleasure in the fact that Glamilies exist all over the world. It is so in character for him to take a moment to remind us that that kindness starts at home, in our treatment of each other.

Being a Glambert means occasionally having to say you’re sorry. IMHO, this is pretty much the only site that is true to the spirit of getting along with each other and over the bumpy moments.

You are really going out on a limb with Barcelona and Mustapha riskylady but they did say one song would be a surprising choice. There is a lot of singing-along at Queen concerts. Perhaps Adam pushed for a few deeper cuts because he wanted to sing a few of the songs alone.

I read somewhere that Queen used to perform Jailhouse Rock a lot live. If they were to perform that, it would certainly fall under the “surprising” column.

Too Much Love sung live will kill me, whoever sings it. So sad and so beautiful.

I am going to bet on White Queen. It is the kind of song that Adam would like to sing imho.

The great thing about the tour is that, after Chicago, we will have a chance to acquaint ourselves with whatever outlying songs they choose, which will make the live experience even better by the time they get to our towns.

Last night I went to see “Gentlemen Prefer Broadway”, Rufus Wainright’s revue involving Broadway love songs traditionally performed as opposite sex duets. It was doubly sweet because we just elected Canada’s first openly gay Premier on Thursday. A member of the new cabinet introduced the show and the audience, which might have been 50% LGBTQ, was thunderous in it’s applause.

Best songs:

Rufus “Washed That Man Right Out of His Hair” and sang “I hate Men” from Kiss me Kate.

David Byrne and Rufus performing “People Will Say We’re In Love” from Oklahoma and “I Must Have Done Something Good” from Sound of Music.

Boy George and Rufus singing Cole Porter’s “The Top”. (FYI, Rufus mentioned that he was very annoyed that a major star had refused to perform that particular song with him due to “connotations”.)

Rufus sang “I’ve Grown Accustomed to His Face” from My Fair Lady (sweetly acknowledging his husband twice during the evening.)

Josh Groban delivered a heartbreakingly beautiful “I Know Him So Well” from Chess.

Steven Paige from BNL joined with Rufus for “Sue Me” from Guys and Dolls

BEST NEWS: Rufus plans to take this on the road as a single night performance in many places, obviously pulling in some interesting local vocalists along the way. I can absolutely see Sting and David Bowie doing this. I would love to see Adam do the LA one. I can’t believe that he wouldn’t be front-of-mind for this. He would absolutely kill “I Know Him So Well”.

ETA: the curtain call featured “There’s a Place for Us” from West Side Story (so apt) and the entire cast leading the audience in “Summer Nights” from Grease. Rufus told us we had better not fuck up, LOL!

Oh, and they had a cake for Boy George – it was his birthday and he was appropriately chuffed.

Even Made in Heaven would be sort of shocking, because per the video I saw, Freddie wrote it and it was first on his solo album “Mr. Bad Guy.” That would surprise me, being so closely associated with Freddie. Wouldn’t it annoy some fans a lot?

Baggy pants, shmaggy pants. Boy is skinnnny. He was slim on GN, as I recall when I had my arm around his waist and was hugging ribs, he’s only slimmer and even more toned now..pilates…I’m going with he has worn those pants several times and they are simply stretched out.

Needs a laundress.

Egads, we have fallen off the wagon for our jobs lists.

It was weird though, as someone here posted a youtube link, which I watched before going out yesterday, the when I came back and caught up on the comments, there were loads of comments about only 10 mins to go etc…but it had already been posted?

Not sure if I’ve watched all the SN interview yet…but so far agree, should have been more on Adam, Roger and Brian. Roger was a real cutie when he was younger wasn’t he?
