Adam receiving the GLAAD Davidson/Valentini Award

What a very rewarding month of May we had as fans of Adam: an honor from GLAAD, a return to Idol, a broadcast of Chinese Idol and the 80’s Show in Japan, the Life Ball and finally, the Hope of LA award. June seems to be a relatively quiet month with only 2 concerts; one in Pittsburgh and one in Orlando. There were lots of great photos of Adam to choose from so I hope you enjoy the GLAAD photo chosen for the main one as well as the few that make up the mosaic above.
Enjoy the photos and the chat!

Had an Adam moment at work today. Someone asked me something about Adam and another person overheard. She said “my daughter (who is 5)says her favorite song is Whataya Want From Me”. Apparently this little girl told her teacher that and when the mom went to pick her up at school, there was the teacher with three other teachers singing WWFM to the mom! Like a mini choir!

Your dad has always been proud of you it just came in a way that was unexpected but that means even more. If you having fun singing, which wasn’t bad, made him open up then I have to believe that was his tipping point. He had to let you know. How awesome!

    Adam’s condo?

Does anyone else think this looks like Tommy Joe with a wig on?
The face is the give away. Imagine it without the wig.

  10. turquoisewaters says:

Ron: Your singing videos always make my day. I just want to give you a hug. Luval, you know how to push Ron’s buttons, although I think you crossed the line with that Justin Bieber remark. ROTFL

  11. luval says:

Damn that Ron! Can’t be honest with anyone without the whole world knowing! ROTFL ROTFL

LOl twilightmagic8. After you said that I really thought it was Tommy but then went to her site. Strange items there.

  12. AL says:

Ron, I actually liked your upbeat song choice and performance. Ms. Bassey would be proud. And it was touching to see that history making email from your dad. Most fathers are never good at showing emotion. Mine was able to do that only towards the end of his life but I always knew that he loved me. Glad that with today’s technology that you and yours were able to reach out and connect. Hug Left Hug Right

Internet was gone for a couple of days – had very bad malware – started with “ghost” voices – found excellent program that zapped it.

Today my basement flooded from storm here. Out back looks like a jungle – monsoon time or something.

Busy here with all kinds of family stuff – graduations, grad parties, recitals, picking up kids – like it.

    Looking forward to Pittsburgh.

Never heard of Ivy Levan, but she is great. Such a great fringe benefit of being an Adam fan: I discover so many intersting singers I would have never found otherwise.

  20. ultimathule says:

Great pic, luval – he looks luscious.

All visitors have now gone, will finally get a bit of time to myself…..its been a manic couple of weeks. Can’t remember the last time I watched a bit of telly!!!
Not this morning though as I have to take my daughter to her first Feis.(Irish dance competition.)

  22. ultimathule says:

Levan reminds me of La Roux (Bulletproof) and Imelda May (Mayhem). Here’s May:

Reading back – and cwm – what a wonderful experience awaits you to sing that magnificent Vivaldi 589 with a 120-member choir. This is such an extraordinarily beautiful work – you must be overjoyed to be able to participate in this event. Just wonderful.

  24. ultimathule says:

Well, Ron – listened to your performances – and my fav – by far – is History Repeating. Never liked the other two songs very much – usually too slow and sleepy for me. But the jazzier versions of EY can be really great.

  25. Kradamour says:

Adamized is here at my house – YAY – so I am just now catching up…cwm, my fatherinlaw did a gig at Carnegie Hall a few years ago and it is still a very present memory to him. If it means even a fraction as much to you, it will be beyond amazing! Woot!

Ron, such serendipity, your father’s post! <3

Ulti, thinking 'bout your flooded basement. Ugh. Big Frown

  26. ultimathule says:

Hey, Ron – up late? Just listened to your “God Bless the Child” on FB.

  27. adamized says:

Such wonderful news! You truely are a rockstar! How many people can say they played Carnegie Hall? I would love to come to NY and see the performance. Yay for you!!!
Ronso happy that your Dad was
able to share his feelings. How could he not be proud to have you as his son?!?!

  28. cwm says:

Awww thanks so much again, everyone, for your sweet and supportive posts! Love you all! Heart

Ron – I loved your father’s proud email to you! How did he know we had just been talking about that very message from him to you?

  29. cwm says:

This is wonderful and adorable. A different view of the Hope of LA awards in the City Council chambers. The best part is toward the end when we are able to see Adam’s reaction to what City Council President Wesson was saying, and their photo at the end:

Hope For The Future” goes with the video that cwm just posted above.

    Thanks!

  32. Kradamour says:

I am totally obsessed with Ivy Levan!
Love “Hot Damn” and very curious to see if it will make radio.
Doesn’t hurt that she is gorgeous in a very retro way.
There is another duet I would love to see with Adam!

On another note, I sure hope he will shave before Saturday’s concert in Pittsburgh…! Thinking

Adam posted a new vine video, These are so random lol but so cute.

I just can’t see Adam with that couch or those chairs in the picture above, unless the place came furnished. Not sure I think it is his place.

  34. luval says:

cwm, thanks for posting that LGBT video at 5:19 this morning. That different view makes all the difference! It’s a keeper.

glambotgram, agree with you about the apartment possibly not being his although I remember the few pics we got from his last condo and it does have a similar vibe with those ornate chairs. Wasn’t that “king” chair or throne where Adam & Sauli did some videos from in his last place?

Hi Kradamour. Have a feeling we’re going to get the scruff. But again, we may not be that close to see it anyway. Frown

Thank you everyone for the thoughtful and very supportive comments about my father. You’re all so very caring and I appreciate it very much!

  36. ultimathule says:

It’s funny about fathers. We expect our mothers to be supportive (almost goes with the territory – lol) – but when our fathers surprise us with a moment of love, it is almost startling – (an extra special lagniappe, one might say).

Waiting for your album, Ron – whatcha gonna call it?

  41. turquoisewaters says:

I think in order to connect with today’s youth and music connaisseurs like luval, Ron should go with something more contemporary: “Ron Sings Classic Bieber Songs”. ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL

  42. Ron says:

    Laugh ulti Laugh

Well of course I’d have to do a cover of both songs on my debut album to justify the title but, for the moment, it’s a toss up between “They’re Coming To Take Me Away” or “What Kind of Fool Am I?”

Either one would be most appropriate. Big Smile

Other nominations for this picture may be for The Freckle Honors, and the Shoulder Division.

I never really knew where the Rainbow Flag came from. This is from Adamtopia:
    The Rainbow Flag

The gay pride flag was designed by Gilbert Baker who is said to have taken his inspiration from the black civil rights and hippie movements. It was debuted in 1978 at the San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Freedom Day Parade. Its colors, always shown in the following order, symbolize:

    Pink (sexuality)
    Red (life)
    Orange (healing)
    Yellow (sunlight)
    Green (nature)
    Turquoise (magic)
    Indigo/blue (serenity)
    Violet (spirit).

Within a year, the flag had shed two of its stripes—pink and violet. According to Gilbert, they “ran out of pink dye.” The violet stripe was later taken out to create an even number of stripes on the flag. Since, many variations of the flag have been created. For instance, a black stripe is added to some symbolizing those lost to AIDS. There are also variations to represent bisexual people, bears (the LGBT slang term not the animal) and others.

It has since been used around the world as a symbol of LGBT unity in many variations, including adaptations such as bumper stickers and decals. The Rainbow Flag is recognized by the International Congress of Flag Makers,

The International Bear Brotherhood Flag was designed to represent the Brotherhood of Bears, named for the LGBT slang term bear.
