What a very rewarding month of May we had as fans of Adam: an honor from GLAAD, a return to Idol, a broadcast of Chinese Idol and the 80’s Show in Japan, the Life Ball and finally, the Hope of LA award. June seems to be a relatively quiet month with only 2 concerts; one in Pittsburgh and one in Orlando. There were lots of great photos of Adam to choose from so I hope you enjoy the GLAAD photo chosen for the main one as well as the few that make up the mosaic above.

    Multiple opinions are good. Maybe one day somebody can just ask Adam what exactly went through his head. Maybe he just always wanted to show off his salute skillz and this was the perfect chance. Laugh All that matters is that it was AWESOME.

    Since I started the convo about Adam’s “emotions” singing this song, I want to clarify my own feelings. aely in no way do I think that Adam sees himself as a “victim”, not at all! And I know that he was never in Broadway productions before Idol so I doubt if these are the same people who turned him down before…..but he has talked in the past about the frustration he felt when he wasn’t promoted from the chorus to leading roles and was kept as the dependent understudy. No matter what kind of career that Adam has now, Broadway is the top of the Musical chain and it was very important for him to impress this specific crowd. He is in no way snubbing or disrespecting them, but he is saying “look what you could have had!”

    I’ll tell you why …

    When I was a foreign student here at KU, my hubby (boyfriend then) took me to the Royals baseball game for the first time. Before the game they sang NA and I thought .. American people were very nice and considerate. Grin
    They made sure that Jose could see the game.

    Adam .. Adam … You didn’t ask … “Jose … Can you see ….?

    Well … I forgive you because your NA rendition is the best EVAH I’ve heard of.

    OKAY – Toronto International Film Festival passes went on sale to TIFF members yesterday.

    If you have a VISA card you can jump ahead of the general public and buy a Pass Pkg on July 3rd. Pass Pkgs come in multiples of ten and can be shared: 10 people can see a movie together; one person can go alone to 10 separate films.

    The festival runs from September 5-15th. The movie book book will be released on Auguust 19th (I think) and it’s a great read all on its’ own.
    Ron and I will be delighted to see anyone who is interested in coming. The David Bowie exhibit will be here as well – the only stop in North America. Here’s the link:

    Anyone considering a pass or just thinking of buying a couple of tickets on the fly on a weekend in September, let me know. I am happy to answer any questions and keep you posted on what films are coming.

    Srsly, it’s an exciting time here if you consider that all – it seems like all – of Hollywood flocks to Toronto for the film festival. Bring your autograph book. We’ll not only have an all too infrequent opportunity to gaze at each other but also be able to gaze at some your favorite actors arriving at premieres in all of their red carpet finery.

    Lurking in the background is that pesky issue of expenses, I know, but I hope those who’ve expressed an interest in attending will be able make it.

    We’d make history! Grin

    It would be the first gathering of Glamberts to a non-Adam event. But, who knows? He might be invited or want to check out a few films and do some networking and could be here too. Big Smile

    Then again, he might be busy during that time with this TV show where singers compete with one another to win some kind of a title. Wink

    OMFG! The SCOTUS ruling on DOMA is under the Equal Protection Statute. Kennedy went further than expected. YAY!

    They haven’t mentioned “state’s rights”. Not sure if this is good or bad for Prop8. They could just dismiss Prop8 on standing. Waiting…..

    If DOMA violates Equal Protection then Prop8 does, too. Hope they don’t set aside Prop8 on standing. If Kennedy uses the same rule of law for Prop8, the US could be a head of the international curve in approving SSM.

    LOL – David Boies and Ted Olsen, the Democrat and the Republican arguers for the repeal of Prop8 – there’s an awesome Bromance pic of them in front of the court today. They argued on opposite sides before SCOTUS in the Bush-Gore election recount case. They’ve been through a lot together.

    Prop8 ruling unusual. Toobin calls it puzzling – written by Roberts. Court breaks along apolitical lines. Prop8 defender had no standing.
    They punted. 9th Circuit had no standing . More California legal proceedings according to Toobin.

    Toobin: good news in that Kennedy’s DOMA ruling opens the door to any couple in any state challenging the refusal to marry them.

    YAY! Off to work.

    And I believe Prop 8 is on its way out too. I’m no lawyer but the LATimes writes

    The court’s action, while not a sweeping ruling, sends the case back to California, where state and federal judges and the state’s top officials have said same-sex marriage is a matter of equal rights.

    I can’t wait for Prop 8 to go away. It’s such a shame that it ever passed in a state like California, and it wouldn’t have without all that outside money from the Kuch brothers and select churches.

    That Bonnie McKee video is adorable and the song catchy! Now, I just want our ninjas to tell me: Is that Adam dancing in the dancing clips on the right, with black cap, white tee, black pants? He is wearing a white tee under his jacket in the other clips, but I’ve tried and tried and can’t get a clear view to see tattoos or gauges in ears, dammit!!!!
    Sure looks like him, though.

    Hi rs and turquoisewaters. Sorry I missed you this morning. What a great day. DOMA down in the morning. California Governor acting quickly on Prop8 this afternoon and Adam in a Bonnie McKee video this evening.

    INTERESTING MAKE-UP DECISION for that video – none at all. Full-on freckles and hat covering his be-yoo-tee-ful locks. Love it!

    Guess tomorrow will be Adam’s last full day in NYC – I will be sorry to see him leave. New York sure knows how to treat a guy.

    Trespassing has been getting some nice little bumps from the latest appearances. Today, it went up 54 spots on iTunes Pop, from 275 to 221. Seems to get slow but steady sales, punctuated by these bumps. The upcoming concerts should help too. The Pittsburgh one gave a nice bump too. Haven’t checked Amazon lately, but Idol affected both.
