No, not totally, HK fan, but after the first breakthrough, it gets progressively easier. Popularity breeds popularity – group dynamics, whatever.
I get the feeling already that Adam doesn’t have to prove himself any longer (and he had to prove himself way longer than he should have had to, IMHO)…peeps know that he has skilz, that he is a professional, that others like to work with him, that he is a mensch. Without the makeup he is more approachable. He looks classy and chic – just has an air of … hard to describe…being comfortable in his own skin and happy to be wherever he is. He looks like he “fits”. People are attracted to that.
Now it is still on red carpets and twitter and public places that he is mingling, but I think that we will start seeing pap pix of Adam at parties thrown by people other than his friends. And if he wants that, then I want it for him.
But what I really want for him is a shave.
Haven’t said that for a while.
Just had to get it out of my system.
Kradamour – The shave will come – all in due time. If it is getting him a bit more attention, then so be it. Maybe since he is transitioning to a no-makeup look, it’s easier for him if part of his face is covered. Meanwhile, keep looking at the picture at the top of this page. Seeing him with Brad Pitt made me think a little bit…Adam has enough money now, and perhape enough power, that he could leverage/produce a vehicle for himself. He isn’t as dependent on others to make things happen for him now. He must know that, too.

Does anyone else thing that maybe the no makeup and facial hair is because of a possible role that he is seeking or knows is coming up? Often actors try to start looking like the character in advance of the casting of the role so directors and casting agents think of them as possibilities. For example, maybe a character like Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar? Hair would have to be longer, but the facial hair might send the message and he does look a little more evil/bad boy with the facial hair. However, he will need to control the smile, because I agree, that totally erases the bad boy look and turns it into the little excited boy or kind boy look.
Another possibility is that current relationship interest prefers the no makeup and facial hair look.

I think his change has to do with Shoshanna and a couple of UK press people tweeting about changing his image and not being so complicated or something like that. I posted a couple of tweets a month or so ago about it. I thought it was interesting. I think he is more approachable, like someone here said, and the comments on how great he looks on the pictures and articles, even from non fans is a positive sign. Who knows though the glitter could be back tomorrow….I love the facial hair. I wouldn’t mind if it stayed awhile.
Another note: A couple of people I work with today saw a picture from the premiere and both were like wow, he doesn’t even look like the same guy and wow, he is so handsome. Both have his CD and like his music but don’t follow him at all.
As my daughter noted, aely, it’s a pretty startling transformation if you put a 2009/10 pic next to these 2013 ones.

Adam looks so stunning and sophisticated in those red carpet photos. I love how he can look like a bad ass rocker on stage in Pittsburgh on Saturday and then look like a rich, powerful, international A-lister on the red carpet in NYC two days later. Having his name listed right after Brad Pitt’s in the head lines is also very nice. It looks like Adam’s finally getting the recognition and credibility he deserves.
Thanks to luval for reposting the photos from the 2011 Grammys. At the time I thought Adam looked incredibly handsome and sexy, which he did, but in comparison, he is so much better looking now. He just gets better and better as he matures. The hair style and lack of make up are so much more flattering. There’s also an air of confidence that lets his sex appeal and charisma shine through.
I like facial hair on men, although my preference is a neatly trimmed full beard. Adam looks great to me with and without the facial hair. Since he needs to keep altering his appearance to keep from getting bored, I’d much rather have him experimenting with his facial hair than applying the razor randomly to the hair on his head. Think back to Glamnation krads, and remember how much worse it could be.
