Adam receiving the GLAAD Davidson/Valentini Award

What a very rewarding month of May we had as fans of Adam: an honor from GLAAD, a return to Idol, a broadcast of Chinese Idol and the 80’s Show in Japan, the Life Ball and finally, the Hope of LA award. June seems to be a relatively quiet month with only 2 concerts; one in Pittsburgh and one in Orlando. There were lots of great photos of Adam to choose from so I hope you enjoy the GLAAD photo chosen for the main one as well as the few that make up the mosaic above.

Thanks, Ron! I will ask my DH what channel NBC is on, he will know. Very glad that I will be able to see it. We have this fricking big TV and no one ever watches it, it is ridiculous. I don’t even know what numbers are what networks. Maybe I should make a little chart in the ~~hope~~ expectation that Adam will be decorating the screen more often now that he is becoming known for eye candy and good comedic timing. Damn he was great on Divas…

I must admit that the comment from Gottfried was really hitting below the belt….but I did laugh in a stunned sort of way….a bit like Adams reaction, and the audiences judging by the loud gasps you can hear. You know you shouldn’t laugh, but you do.

What has he been in, I recognise him but can’t think where or what I would have seen him in.

Gilbert Gottfried is a very well known stand up comedian. He was part of the 80’s craze of gimmick comics who all had a look or sound or something annoying. He has always been a “screamer” with that scrunched up face. He was the voice of the parrot in Disney’s Alladin cartoon. He hosts TV Roasts. He has had a gazillion comedy appearances on cable, and late night TV.

He tours a lot, and is in Vegas a lot. He is quite foul a lot. What he said on the show last night was actually tame. Believe it or not.

He got in huge trouble last year when he was the long time voice of the AFLAC duck in their ads, and he made some Ben Affleck joke, and got kicked off the commercials. I have always liked Gilbert Gottfried. Not a HUGE fan but always found him to be different from the usual crop of stand-up comics. And yes, the shouting can get annoying but I get a chuckle from him now and then.

Same here luval. I wouldn’t go out of my way to see him, but, he has made me laugh a lot over the years. He was on Carson quite a bit, and, hey, you know the old adage, if Carson liked you, you were “in.” That made a lot of comedians’ careers.

By far, his most outrageous bit was in The Aristocrats. A movie that featured loads of comics telling their version of Carson’s favorite joke. A particularly filthy joke which was never aired. But, it was the joke told off-screen at commercials, the audience could hear it, and when the show would come back from commercials, and you would see everybody cracking up and crying from laughing so hard, it was often because of this joke. So, Bob Saget decided to make a movie about it as a tribute. It’s just one comic after another telling their version of the joke. It’s so dirty, it’s so outrageous, but, you find yourself laughing so hard, you can’t believe it. Tons of people walked out of theaters at the time. Whatever. To each his own. I’ve seen most of it. Robin Williams was so funny it hurt. Gottfried’s version of the joke was, umm, over the top.

Had a Vintage Trouble moment at work today. I was talking with a young co-worker ( 25 . Remember that? ) And I mentioned Vintage Trouble. Her eyes got real wide, and she said “OMG!!! At a gay bar and it is show tunes Tuesday with my friend and his partner….nkd and texas have met them a couple of times (both Adam fans)…..it is so fun!!!! They are trying to figure out what to sing next…..I should be home…but this is way better.

Here are comments by the videographer of that recently discovered Queen/Adam Poland video. Another example of a gradual conversion (i.e. Adam live is virtually irresistible LOL). It’s not the whole concert, but he got most of WWTLF, TSMGO and BoRhap, and the encores. It’s good to get the feel from in the audience in such a HUGE venue, and sound is good too.

After the concert, I gained respect because most of the songs performed well, there were a few bugs but the concert was really sensational, people enjoying themselves, listening, for which we thank the team and Adam. The discussion about the superiority of one over the other singer in this case, I consider unnecessary, Adam does not replace Freddie, he’s just doing his works at the request of Brian and much, does it, that’s great, let us rejoice that we had the opportunity to see them live, cheers!

The second issue is the performance of works by Lambert QUEEN, I will tell you this, QUEEN listen to forever and I’m a big fan. We know it is a fact that no one can replace Freddie. After playing a few songs performed by LAMBERT QUEEN on YT (those were the pieces of American Idol seems) before the concert doubted LAMBERT, do not listen to it, I’m not a fan, I did not like it, too stalled and operated voice, the impression of artificiality such plastic without emotion.

Ok, I see that I have to take part in the discussion of singers band QUEEN, buzz … error … QUEEN does not exist, stop with the death of Freddie and the departure of John, I am of the opinion that the band made up of all and if at least one person will leave the people should stop using the name of the group and operate under a different one.

Wow, are we lucky fans or what? Not only do we get to stan Adam’s voice and Adam’s looks, but we also get to stan the kind of man that Adam has become. That Pittsburgh interview was awesome, and shows what a mensch Adam has become.

I loved that he talked about integrity to his vision and not letting protests get in his way, and the pleasure he gets in stirring things up a bit. It was obvious that he knows that what he is doing matters, and that making a real difference in people’s lives is more important in the long run than traditional markers of success in his business (units sold).

And I loved how sincere he sounded about how awesome it felt to him to know that he is the catalyst for the amazing community his fans have created. He was talking about us!!

That interview made my heart smile for him and for us. As they say on twitter: ILHSFM

Family emergency – getting ready to leave early in the morning – will have to miss the Pride concert on Saturday.
Going crazy getting ready to leave – hopefully I will post good news when I get back – and hopefully our ALLers will post great recaps that will make up for missing the concert. (looking at you, luval and ulti!)

H,T&P, Kradamour! Found out that a friend had surgery for a brain tumor today. So my H,T&P were already in use but now in overdrive. Hope the family emergency isn’t life-threatening in nature. I had been contemplating a possible last minute trip to Pittsburgh but it doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards as they say.

I also was so proud of that interview. He was so mature and had such articulate perspective on his influence. Loved to hear him talk about about us, his fans. I know he knows how he has caused people to meet and become friends, but, I wonder if he really knows, I mean really knows, how many people this has affected? In countries all over the world.

I loved hearing how he gets a thrill out of the controversy he causes at times. That just put a smile on my face.

And, no, I am not that Milwaukee poster. I would love to find out who she is though…

now just watched the Fuse TV interview. God, I could listen to him talk for hours, he’s just so eloquent,especially when he has interviewers who ask intelligent, sometimes deep questions and allow him to talk without interrupting him with drivel and silly comments.
