This. If you only get two shots, you really can’t waste one on a meh song. I bet there were political considerations/favors going on and it was not Adam’s choice. If he gets a third song, I’d go with Shady too. Just about every reviewer loved it. To me, musically, it is the strongest song. If it is not meant to be, at least go out with a bang. I am still hopeful though that NCOE will catch on.
Hi turquoisewaters!…Agree with you about not Adam’s choice. Although he was an executive producer on the album, bet there are many many things beyond his control that we will never know about.

I also see Shady as a possible crossover into urban radio. It is probably the only song on the album that I can easily picture on my “rap and crap” radio stations here except perhaps Kickin In. (riskylady, that is your phrase, yes? Love it!)

LOL, Kradam, if your “rap and crap” station would insert Shady in between, that would be phenomenal. Not sure about Shady in Miami – they love the club music down here, too – I’m thinkin’ Pop That Lock LOL! Very short-attention-span city. Now, if Adam would tour again and sell out the Hard Rock with this new music, that might get their attention. Or, BTR, with it’s Latin flavor, could be the new “Caribbean Queen,” it sort of has that vibe (remember Billy Ocean? That song was HUGE here.)
I did see on MJs that NCOE has entered the HAC top 40 at #37. Kelly’s Dark Side is #42. On CHR NCOE moved up from #83 to #67. So, some progress is being made.
My big question about radio is: How the heck is Carly Rae Jepsen for example getting so much play from the getgo? No loyal US fanbase was requesting her music from another country – but Bieber tweeted her and lo and behold, airplay!
No fans had to grovel. Same thing about One Direction. Were we requesting their music from over in the UK to be brought over here? Oh well…..
I loved that “Candyland or Chess” post, glambotgram. It is exactly what I have meant when I have said that Adam is a musician’s musician, but her explanation was a lot more articulate.
(Dunno about the psychic stuff and Freddie Mercury orchestrating things from beyond the grave but whatever.)

Hi asif I’m here…great news about no 1 in HK. Not actually sure what that means in regard to sales and airplay, as I don’t listen to HK radio. Can’t get it in my house or car, and to be honest its not that good anyway.. I think I read today that its no 1 in Singapore too..

We should get at least one and possibly two HDD updates this afternoon (Eastern time). I’m prepared for a further drop in sales, as the album has continued to gradually slide down the iTunes, Amazon, Barnes/Noble and Walmart charts during this past week. Without much airplay for NCOE at this point, a continued sales drop is pretty much inevitable in the near term. We need to see at what level sales stabilize, but I don’t think we are at that level yet.

NCOE doesn’t seem to be getting that many spins at the moment, but its AI seems higher than BTIKM ever got, so hopefully that means the spins he is getting are at the right time of day.

Enjoy Les Miz, Adam/Queen and Alfie Boe. I wish I were that lucky.
I used to listen to Alfie Boe and the likes in his genre a lot until Adam. Also at my fortunate times, a long time ago, I used to go to Europe in summer. I have seen Les Miz and other musicals in London a few times.
My daughter and I loved Les Miz so much that we both went back to Palace Place Theatre to see it while my hubby went to see something else. I have DVDs both the 10th and 25th Anniversary of Les Miz. My daughter and I know every word of the songs and we sing (out of tune) together. What fun!!!
We laughed at Nick Jonas (Marius?!?) Actually, he is OK. I guess they want to pass this show on to the young generations like High School kids to keep this show on for more years to come.
Samantha Banks who was Eponine in the 25th Anniversary Concert is in the movie as well. Taylor Swift didn’t get the role. Can’t wait to see the movie in December. The cast looks impressive.

My daughter is in Korea and the time there is 6 hours ahead of mine. By the time I get around, come home from work and try to call her she’ll be in bed already. We also have different weekend. Here, Thursday and Friday are our weekend.
I don’t understand the radio play, spins, adds or subtracts either. It frustrates me that Adam has to work so hard with the radio thingie inspite of his incredible talents.
I should thank my Mom & Dad everyday that they didn’t raise me a bigot. Otherwise, I would have missed out on the talented, beautiful and wonderful Adam F. Lambert. That would have been a crying shame! So, thank you Mom & Dad!!!

This is so funny. I just gifted another cd to my doctor! We got talking about traveling and I told her of my adventures and that I follow this singer etc, etc. I couldn’t believe she heard of him. She loved him on Idol…had no idea what he was up to. Like many people she didn’t know he was on Kimmel or AI or GMA. God it’s sooooo frustrating! That’s why I always keep cd in my purse. And I’ve also started taking off the plastic wrap. I think sometimes people might just throw the cd’s in a pile if they are not easily accessable.
If anybody watched So You Think You Can Dance from the beginning…Benji Schwimmer, the first winner and a Mormon, just came out. It’s a 2 hour YouTube where he talks about it. His sister Lacy Schwimmer is an occasional dancer on Dancing With The Stars.

It finally came!!!!!!! My AO fan edition CD arrived this morning. Of course it arrived a bit battle weary and the plastic CD cover is cracked in a couple of places but the CDs themselves look alright. Now I don’t have to worry about it arriving while I am away. But no wonder it was injured. It came in a little cardboard wrapping with not much protection. The one from Amazon came in a big book box. Of course, my FYE that I ordered from Amazon (within the States) came cracked, too.
Now I have my three copies, costing over $20 each, including shipping (the one I bought here cost over $20, too) and just have to wait till I get to London to buy some more the day they are released there.

ITA, Luval! I had just looked him up when I saw your link to his picture. Lucky flight attendants! There was all kinds of pretty on that plane! In that picture of the Tom Payne you posted the link for, he kind of reminds me of that old picture of Adam where he’s kind of scruffy looking, sitting down leaning against a wall with his legs outstretched.
