asif -Thanks so much for the BBC Breakfast link – I actually had my breakfast whilst (LOL) watching it. Loved hearing Adam talk with a British accent! Did he say he was doing the concert with Elton John next month (instead of 3 days from now)? I only listened once so maybe I got it wrong.
Ron – Happy Anniversary to you and Gil! My hubby and I celebrated our 29th on May 29th! Our weekend of celebrations consisted of me going with the Duke and Dutchess to WB (solo) and then going to a volleyball tournament for the weekend (with him and 2 of my 3 kids). So good for you in planning something to make this special! And you should definitely sing to him!
My latest Adam music story – begrudgingly went to Friendly’s with the family Saturday night (we had been at a Celtic Festival all day where I heard some good music but no voice to compare with AFL). We sat down at the table and were looking over the menus when WWFM came over the radio. I can “name that tune” in 2 notes but the whole family then realized that it was on and started making comments. It didn’t matter to me – I know I had a huge grin on my face!
Sparkle…I think he did mess up the Elton John date. Lol!
Adam interview Radio 2 today on BBC Radio 2 at 3:30 pm UK. Listen live link:

Adam is on BBC Radio 2 NOW!!!!
http://beta.bbc.co.uk/radio2
They are playing NCOE and promo out July 9.
Now Queen talking.
Thanks asif, managed to catch some of the interview. Chris Tarrant is one of the best known DJ’s in the UK, so hopefully good exposure for him.
Thank you, asif! I had just checked on Twitter and then here to see if anyone knew when the BBC2 interview was happening, and there was your handy link!! Good interview, articulate as always! I loved the DJ’s comment at the end that while Adam is relatively unknown there now, he suspects the whole country will know who he is in just a few weeks. What an overwhelming feeling that must be for Adam!

Queen News June 2012: http://bit.ly/MwilOc ADAM LAMBERT ON RADIO 2 talking to Chris Tarrant – AUDIO INTERVIEW
http://brianmay.com/queen/queennews/queennewsjun12.html#.T-si3vCBZrE.twitter
Loved the interview – unfortunately didn’t catch it live! Thanks again, as if! Interesting that he thought that Allison was the most talented on Idol and he referred to Kris as “the other finalist” instead of naming him (although that made sense for the british audience who wouldn’t know him anyway). He said that the first show with Queen is in 3 days so he’s back on track timewise. Teri– loved that comment too!
Not to second guess TPTB for the umpteenth time but if they knew he’d be promoting both his album and his Queen concerts and would be in the UK this month, why wasn’t Trespassing released as the second single instead of NCOE? Especially since Trespassing is the one that peeps felt sounded a bit like Queen? And it’s the name of the album which might have strengthened the connection between Adam performing with Queen and his new album! Then NCOE (or another song) could have been released as the third single in late July when he was back in the US.
Should I quit my day job and become a music exec?

with Chris Tarrant radio show:

That Tarrant guy kept interrupting him, but Adam held his ground. Overall, he knew about him, and was all positive information.
Both interviews were not about the gay. How refreshing.
He can sing, ‘ya know?! They do across the pond.
Methinks boy is gonna explode over there. Big time. BIG.
I have been watching comparemyradio.com that shows radio spins in the uk. 4 or 5 days ago he had 421 spins in the last 30 days today it stands at 790. I *fingers crossed* think that is a good sign.
I think so, too, mils, providing he gets a positive reception to his Queen gigs, and I truly believe he will. For one thing, aside from Saturday’s performance which will be in front of a general audience that might have to do as much or more to do with the huge sporting event than with the musical entertainment, the audiences will predominantly be there because they want to be. It won’t be just part of a huge festival, so the audience will be composed of people who are either fans of Queen but not opposed to a Freddie stand-in or who are Adam’s ardent fans, who are either lucky enough to live nearby or lucky enough to travel across the pond for this epic union! For Adam’s sake, I’m actually really glad that he won’t be doing Sonisphere. I think this is a much more positive opportunity for him.
On another, related note: I love Shoshanna’s winky-eyed hint on her tweet that Adam would be at Elton’s bash tomorrow night. I love that he’s being embraced by and getting these opportunities to rub elbows with the all-time greats. No matter what happens with US radio, he must feel so vindicated knowing that legends in the business think he’s something really special.
Hi mils!
I thought Tarrant was very annoying. Not only interrupting Adam but talking over him. But Adam held firm and did keep his ground.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone for your very thoughtful anniversary wishes and overly-generous comments on the singing video. You can breathe a collective sigh of relief as I won’t be inflicting another singing video on you again!
I received an unusual and unexpected invitation this morning via email. Many of you are familiar with Xena and Juneau’s radio show. Xena asked me to be their guest this evening! She didn’t just pick my name out of a hat. I’ve met Juneau once before and have socialized with Xena several times, most recently at the autograph session. The topic, Adam as a gay role model and the diversity within the gay community. If I thought I was capable of expressing myself as clearly and articulately as Adam, I might have participated. But, lacking those skills, I politely declined. I might have considered it if it was to be a short segment but it was to be for the full hour! “Umm-Uhhh”. “Uhhh-Ummm”. “Well …” Umm sorry but, no. It was nice to be asked, though!
Thank you again for your very kind comments!
Getting very excited, not nervous but excited, for Adam for the 30th!
Wow, Ron, what an honor to have been asked! I think you sell yourself short, though; I’ll bet you would have been terrific. You’re certainly an eloquent writer!
Asif, thanks for the link for Radio 2 interview. You’ve been very active today! I really liked this interview too. Tarrant guy was really in a hurry and interrupting, but Adam kept going. Oh mine, he is sharp! But I had hard times to understand what Tarrant said – that’s never happened to me with American or Canadian interviews. Was his accent a very strong one, natives?
I think this timing for Queen/Trespassing is very good. Joining Queen raises interest in Adam in UK, and if people like his music, the gay thing is not a problem for success. In UK the bigger problem can be AI background, but like the interviewer said, if Queen wants him he has to be good – many people might think the same and give his music a chance.
Teri, I am too very happy that great long-time artists like May, Taylor and Elton are supporting Adam. He’s playing in the big league.
“I like the shorts ”
Leave it to Adam to drop a little hint like that. Made me laugh so hard. He did such an A+ job on both interviews, getting all his points across while being extremely charming and articulate.
I am getting so excited about the Queen gigs. As you all have said, this could be a massive career moment for Adam, and in any case it will be the experience of a lifetime. I hope he sees it as all opportunity and does not clam up. I really think that having Brian and Roger with him will help in this regard, they are such old hands at this, and I am sure they will help him feel more secure and at ease. Did any of you think it will come to this back when you watched him on AI for the first time?
Ron— all he best to such a handsome and committed couple. 35 years is quite a milestone! Happy Anniversary and many more!! And SING!!!!…it will be special, heartfelt and meaningful.
I think these are the pants from the NCOE video (from AQD)

wow…sounds like fun! Adam in white tie & tails! Wonder if Sauli will be there. Ron…you could pull this off!
http://www.ejaf.com/Ourevents/WHITETIETIARA
I think so too. The Uk interviews have been terrific and the interviewers warm and interested; I’m starting to have good positive feelings that these major concert events in Adam’s journey could really open up things for him especially in the UK. Fingers crossed! Brian May’s berting is also a positive sign.
Getting very excited. Leave for LOndon on the 4th of JUly. So much to do and get ready for. And there’s KIev and Moscow 1st before I go.
So, is he going to the Ball???
Oh my frack!!
What an opportunity!!
And, we all know he looks divine in white!!
Is it tonight?
Must. Have . Confirmation.
And pictures.
(( Wait a minnit.
White tie can still be a black tux, but more formal than “just a tux”, maybe a tail, white bow tie and really formal ))
But still, nothing, and I do mean this sincerely, nothing has ever beat his Grammy look. Nothing. Nobody. Ever.
I think so too … as one of the footmen with powdered white wig and face.
Ron, I would have listened raptly to you for the Juneau and Xena show. You have a radio voice, and I’m sure have more to say than you give yourself credit for!!
Maybe she could invite a couple of others and have a panel discussion so you would feel more comfortable, just a suggestion.
Adam just loves a chance to put on a costume. And if a white tie event isn’t a costume ball, I just don’t know what else is!
Ron, if you’re the footman, I want to be the lady with the powder puff!
You can powder my puff any time, mils!
Love the little descriptions of Adam in London:
Perfectly Constructed Face
An impressive mane
And during that BBC interview this morning when the woman says “that doesn’t sound much like Queen” (after they played a bit of NCOE), Adam says “no, it’s Adam Lambert”. Perfect answer.
So mils has the powder puff? What am I the Dollymop? (you’ll have to look that one up…unless you know).
mils, can you please post the Grammy outfit, I think we would all like to see it again.
As far as the dress wear, Adam needs to really study up on it, he cant remember the words to songs he has song 5127 times, and he doesnt even know what city or country he is in, he certainly cant be expected to know the dress code for an event like that, I hope he gets the help he needs.

Don’t be that strict. I listened all 5127 times and even I forget the words sometimes.
Is this the Grammy pic you are looking for?

glambotgram: You just happened to have that lying around your computer somewhere, didn’t you? Daaaaaamn.
ladynorth, Chris Tarrent doesn’t have a strong accent at all, although probably speaks a bit fast for radio.
It was rather annoying the way he kept interupting and talking over Adam.
perfect, glambotgram.
I’m glad there’s Lambert love coming from the UK. When I signed on to AOL tonight, one of the headlines is “Idol Says He Feels Like an Outcast” Of course it takes you directly to the AOL Sessions page. His interview comes up first, when he says he has felt like an outsider in the music business. Some of the comments are just awful. You can tell they didn’t listen to any of the music. Many of them make the connection that he’s an outcast because he’s gay, and he’s always pushing it on people..yada..yada..yada. Wish one of the songs would come up when you follow the link, so that by the time you read the article, you hear the music. Very discouraging.
On the other hand, NCOE has been getting airplay about twice a day on the Orlando Mix radio, and WWFM is being played at least once during the daytime hours, so I guess all is not lost.
{{{ staggers back to keyboard after ogling that Grammy pic. }}}}
Bowing and clapping.
(( Thanks ))
Was I right? Or was I right??
Ahem.
Do I even need to say anything about this?

According to Wikipedia, FYE had sold 838,000 in the US as of May 2012, so through Week 6 it had logged 51.8% of its total sales to date. Applying the same math to TSP would result in an eventual total of around 253,000.
NCOE did not have any HAC adds this week, after having one each of the two previous weeks. Spins are now starting to decrease, with the song falling from #36 to #40 on the Mediabase airplay chart during the past week. On Top 40, NCOE had one add this week (KDUK Eugene OR), after no adds in the previous week. Top 40 spins are also starting to fall, with an update from June 25 showing NCOE dropping from 290 to 284 during the past week, and dropping from #52 to #56 in airplay chart position. Total combined spins among all formats appear to have leveled off, with the song holding at #21 on the Idol airplay chart.
As best I can tell, the peak chart positions thus far for NCOE have been #36 HAC airplay, #52 Top 40 airplay, and #21 Idol airplay. BTIKM peaked at #17 HAC airplay, #50 Top 40 airplay, #9 Idol airplay, and #11 on the VH1 video countdown.

I love the black and white!
Okay, so I just love the white creepers, the black and white shirt, the very recycled jacket.
Please remind me, which direction of a peace sign was an insult in the UK?
Back of the hand mils.
Palm out is a peace sign. Looks like Adam learned!
The look is very Jailhouse Rock with a jacket. Still channeling Elvis.
Here’s one of the songs I am really hoping for:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0omja1ivpx0&feature=player_detailpage
FWIW, Lady Gaga got her name from this.
Thanks nkd!
You’re welcome mils!
It is very quiet here so I clicked on Independence Square under upcoming shows and found out voting took place for the 10 favorite songs by Elton John and Queen – apparently the voting has been completed and the list of 10 songs have been given to the musicians to incorporate into their set lists. Since Queen & Adam finished practicing a few days ago, what if there is a Queen song or two that was in this top ten that they didn’t practice? Guess that will keep everyone on their toes!
I have no doubt that Adam is going to be awesome at these 6 concerts – so excited that he is getting this opportunity. BTW, as others have alluded to, the other way to become a famous singer is to perform and to be “mentored” by already famous singers. Justin Bieber initially achieved fame as Usher’s protege. If Adam achieves fame by being Queen’s and Elton John’s protege, good for him!!!
mils: that video is just insane!
