After a very busy couple of weeks of promo and radio concerts following the release of “Trespassing” on May 15, Adam will head to London early this month to begin preparations for his upcoming concerts with Queen. He will do some album promo and a couple of live performances in the UK as well, where Trespassing is set for a July 2 release date. One of these shows is the “Rays of Sunshine” charity event at the very prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. Adam will also return briefly to the US for a free radio concert in San Francisco on June 24.

Our featured photo (Brian Ach – Getty Images) for this month shows Adam in a very happy mood while performing at the KTUPhoria radio concert. Enjoy the chat!

Good early morning. Interesting conversation last night about the numbers. Eywflyer, I didn’t notice Kris Allen’s sales numbers or maybe overlooked them. My my the music business is a mess.
Ron, thought that Katy Perry plan of starting her own label was very telling. Even though she’s a top selling artist, she must see what we don’t regarding the industry and now has the money to do something. Can’t think of another female who’s done this.
Cwm…I join the rest of us in wishing you a great trip. You are probably winging your way across the US right now! London for me is still a possibility.
Eywflyer…still working on Fantasy Springs trip too but am having work issues all of a sudden. I don’t know why I do things at the last minute sometimes. It just hits me all of a sudden and I go!

  3. TLKC says:

LUVAL please get in touch with me through Ron a.s.a.p. I have some news that may help you make up your mind about the UK trip.

  4. luval says:

    TLKC…. I sent you an e-mail.

Has anyone seen the chartshow bit with Adam on, I think it was aired yesterday, at least thats what it seems like from tweets.

cwm I am late and I see you are already gone but have a wonderful time.

  7. Kradamour says:

Have we noticed (of course we have) that Adam’s necklines are lower than they have been in the past? In recent months, the high-neck tees have been joined by others that show quite a bit more skin. This photo of Adam and Sauli in matching tees reminded me.
    And the shorts in concert.
Maybe I am reading too much into this, but BB seems much more comfortable in his own skin. I am so glad. When he has shown skin in the past, it was when he was in costume, a totally different issue.

  8. luval says:

That photo of Adam & Sauli is stunning! So Adam is in the US now for the SFO show today. Then back to London maybe to rehearse with Queen for the Kiev show. Yipes…jet lag!

eta: still love Adam in black…my favorite.

another eta: Whenever I see them together at a party it makes me so happy Adam has found someone. Like Adam says, these events are work & it must be awkward to be at these things with really no one to talk to except people he barely knows.

The T4 show was just on livestream but I missed it. There should be a youtube soon, or download.

Safe journey to cvm! When you travel to another continent, better see more of it Smile

glambotgram, thanks for the A&S photo, it’s adorable!

Rainy Sunday, perfect for addictions Grin Besides Adam, been searching for Queen… When I heard this song, I got chills when I imagined Adam singing this… Such a beautiful song. Lyrics not so special, but the melody and the emotion would be lovely with Adam’s voice. BTW, do you all know that Queen never did a live tour with Freddie of their last three albums (including Made in Heaven which was made after his death)? A lot of music waiting to be performed live…

  13. dcglam says:

LadyNorth, that Queen song is breathtaking.
I do have chills just imagining Adam’s vocals on it — Wow!!

  14. Kradamour says:

Thanks for the link to the Chart Show, glambotgram! I really enjoyed that.

Did we notice the nice architectural side trim on his hair? Love that, edgy and clean.

Nice to hear Adam talk at some length about his reaction to NCOE. “Added some diversity to the album”…hmmm…
But he said some very positive things, they didn’t sound pat, as though he really made peace with putting it on the album.
She isn’t a great interviewer but it was a nice chat.

Not loving the elbow-length fingerless gloves, though, when he is seated and reaching out, for example. Odd looking. Enough of that. Sorry!
    Heh

  15. glambotgram says:

I really liked the Chart Show but Adam, Fantasia? No just No.

    Here is T4

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7KjOr5av9Y&feature=youtu.be

  16. dcglam says:

Just finished watching both interviews. Many thanks for the links, glambotgram!
I love Adam’s response when peeps keep telling him that he has big shoes to fill.
“I’m bringing my own shoes, and I think Freddie would approve.” That isn’t an exact quote, but it’s close.Wink

  17. LadyNorth says:

Thanks glambotgram for the Chart Show! Just watched it… Have to watch T4 next Smile Talking about jackets, I really liked the one in Chart Show. Darker gray suits him well. I liked this look (the whole package) very much!

But OMG JB in leather (the other link). Horrible look! Over sized leather just doesn’t look good. Maybe they didn’t have those clothes children’s size Laugh Oh, I am being horrible!

dcglam, I am starting to feel obsessed about Queen’s “Don’t try so hard” song, I NEED Adam to sing it. It’s from the album Innuendo, which was released 1991, the year Freddie died. So he has never sang it live. I wonder if anyone has…

  18. milwlovesadam says:

Pure speculation here: As much as I ( we) love the soft and haunting ballads of Freddie and Queen, I just don’t see them translating well to the huge audiences they will have.

I see more of the power rock songs, and maybe some fun duets with Elton. I am hoping for Under Pressure most of all. And, maybe a duet of Don’t Let The Sun Go Down on Me.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljyt9_TFZd4&feature=player_detailpage

And, we can all fantasize about a Bowie pop-in for Under Pressure. Especially in London.

Maybe at the Apollo in London he could do softer songs, being indoors and “smaller” venue than the shows elsewhere.

And, I wouldn’t be Mils without expressing just a little concern for the voice holding out. Queen is some hard stuff on the vocal cords. Even Freddie struggled to keep his voice on tour. We all know that Adam knows his voice, but, holy shmoly, he pushed it HARD at the EMA’s, and that was just a one-off and three songs.

    Here’s an even better version:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsKqMNDoR4o&feature=player_detailpage

I just love this so much!!

  19. luval says:

    PCF (perfectly constructed face). LOL!

JB’s outfit. All I can think of is “useless crotch”. Thank’s Miss Chaos. Clothes withstanding, he does seem like a nice chap and it looks like his following is 16 and under. They grow up quick!

Don’t Try So Hard is beautiful. Almost seems like 3 songs in one to me. And I think Adam/Queen will stick to Queen’s greatest hits. Adam said in one of those interviews that’s what he’s listening to. And of course, that is what people want, I think.

eta: did I use “withstanding” correctly? Am very conscious of grammar these days since that lady on GN.

  20. Kradamour says:

    “clothes notwithstanding”, luval.
    Grin
Since that lady on GN (why cannot we remember her name?) I am so conscious of “like” being used constantly. It has always been a pet peeve of mine, too, but I had managed to stamp it down a bit and just not even hear it until that show brought back all of the awfulness.
My husband has completely lost his command of the English language over the past year or so…every sentence seems to begin with as many as six false starts before he actually follows the subject with a verb and carries it to completion. It is hard to pay attention to what he is going to say when he finally gets it out. Trying to find a nice way to tell him, he doesn’t take criticism well.
Maybe I’ll just do what my mother does (she is hard of hearing): nod and smile, and develop a set of generic responses that I can interject when needed.
    Thinking

  21. luval says:

Thanks, Kradamour. Seemed like something was missing! Smile

I have to constantly think whenever I speak to not say “like”. Have been doing this forever.

eta: Can’t wait for Elton. Saw him on the Queen’s Jubilee concert and was so impressed with his voice. Just as beautiful and strong as always.

  22. milwlovesadam says:

luval, you are so funny! I do think it’s “not withstanding”

Either way, the fetus just confirmed his nickname with that outfit. Just awful. A baby in leather. Ill-fitting, and too much all over. Seriously, it seems like his stylist took a day off and JB went shopping all by his baby lonesome after ogling way too many pictures of our guy.

Anyway, both of those interviews were fun to watch. Thanks for posting.

So, San Fran in a few hours. Who is there? Hoping for pics of Adam’s mom and dad and Neil too. It’s sweet to see all the love he gets.

  23. turquoisewaters says:

58 degrees in SF. Adam might be in a winter coat. I am not too hopeful that his set will be very long with all the other performers and his jetlag. But I’ll take what I can get. I’ll be there as long as my kiddo can handle the concert situation, but she really wants to come.

  24. dcglam says:

    PCF (perfectly constructed face)

And may I add to that PCB (perfectly constructed body)!!! Razz

I know, I know….. Never begin a sentence with the word “and”. I seem to do it a lot here, but I teach my students to never begin a sentence with the word “and”. Heh

  25. eywflyer says:

    Today’s live thread is up:

    http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2012/live-summerthing-san-francisco-ca-62412

Concert scheduled from 12-4 PM PDT (3-7 PM EDT). According to Alice 97.3 radio station, Adam is scheduled to appear at 330 PM PDT (630 PM EDT).

  26. milwlovesadam says:

    About “like”

I also have a hard time with it. I recently had a full-time grad student at my job
( before I got laid off ) who said “like” so much that it sounded immature and unprofessional. I actually spoke with her about it. Her generation just doesn’t hear it. It is so much a part of how they speak. But, when in a professional context, “like” is not a good thing. And, when teaching, it is confusing to use it.

“I want you to like do this”

“Should I do it or should I like maybe do it?”

There was an episode of one of my favorite shows, Judging Amy, where the mom
( Tyne Daly, the great actress) got upset with a kid she had in her carpool who used “like” incessantly. She told her off so well, I wish I could find the exact verbage she used, because that was what I had in mind when speaking to my intern!!

Anyway, Adam was using “like” in several recent radio interviews, and I actually cringed a little. I had never heard him “liking” all over the place. I only could think that he was tired as a reason. Mr. Articulate and Erudite had never “liked” before!!!

  27. luval says:

I noticed also that Adam is using “like” quite a bit lately. I took it as he was nervous in those interviews…or tired as well. And I cringe. oops started a sentence with “and”. LOL. I do it here too and probably will continue! Smile

  28. milwlovesadam says:

And just what is wrong about starting a sentence with “and?

    Tee Hee.

  29. luval says:

    The concert today:

    Adam Lambert
    Scars on 45
    Graffiti 6
    Boys Like Girls
    Vicci Martinez

Adam headlining? Looks that way. The only one I have heard of is Boys Like Girls.

  30. eywflyer says:

Luval, Adam is scheduled to appear last (330 PM PDT) so yep looks like he is headlining, although I still doubt it will be much longer than a half hour set as the concert is scheduled to end at 4 PM.

  31. milwlovesadam says:

Vicci Martinez is from California and was a finalist on Season 1 of the Voice. She’s really good. And Out and Proud.
Scars on 45 and Boys Like Girls have played here.

It’s a young line-up. Good for Adam. Yay!!!!

And just what is wrong about starting a sentence with “and?

    Tee Hee.

    Haha, mils
The English teacher part of me would say that “and” is a conjunction that is used to connect two parts of a sentence. That happens to be the traditional (formal) use of the word. However, it does seem that more and more professional writers are using it at the beginning of a sentence for emphasis. I think it is becoming more acceptable to use it in that way.
    We’re good!! Smile

  33. luval says:

Thanks, eywflyer. mils, now I remember her. First I thought she was the gal with the shaved head…Janis Joplin-ish rocker. But then I googled her and now I see. I liked her on the Voice.

Am listening to Trespassing while doing some ironing (ugh). I really like “Pop That Lock” and at this moment I could hear it on the radio. Radio schmadio.

Maybe throw in a couple of votes here. Billboard is important, I think.

And this dumb fan-army thing. Adam wants The Glamberts to win

    http://www.omusicawards.com/vote/fan-army-ftw

I think they are both scheduled to end this week sometime.

  34. Miss Chaos says:

Adam looks so good in the picture with Sauli, and why does it look so hawt seeing Adam with him, lol, corner get ready—–

Fetus, see I told you he had a useless crotch, other wise he wouldnt have worn such baggy leather pants. HEHE, Other than that, he really is trying to copy Adam, fingerless gloves, oh my, leather vest, the hair, the back hand peace sign. See how that all works with Adam and Sauli, and how utterly stupid it looks with Beiber. Ya know, he should have never hung around with Adam while in London, he is in awe of our boy. See how much we all can admire Adam now, after that calamity that is the Fetus!!

  35. luval says:

eywflyer…thought I’d bring this over here in case peeps are interested. If we have dinner it may be one hour of Adam! Now back to the other thread!

I think that is a very insightful post, ulti. Too much fame too soon, before he can really claim it as his own and not the creation of others, must be very difficult. And the whole world is watching as he tries to transition from teenage pop-throb to a maturing performer. I don’t envy him and I wish him well.

I was just joking about and, like, I and me. It is my pet peeve also when I see they are used often and wrongly even though I make a lot of mistakes myself.

Please don’t take me too seriously. At home I joke a lot. I know it’s too much. Some friends don’t know what’s true and what’s a joke.

    My bad!!!!

PS. Love Adam and Sauli photo. What a gorgeous couple!!!

  42. luval says:

I agree with Kradamour…ultimathule, that is a great post. Here is an interview with Usher from a couple of days ago. If you move up to about 1:35 Usher talks about “evolve or evaporate” in regards to JB. I really think they are pushing him too hard. (his body isn’t ready for leather!!!!)

  44. glambotgram says:

I sure do hope the grammar police don’t come out of the woodwork. I despised English in school, and did not take much of it. I loved Math and Science and did very well in those subjects. Therefore I know I make many grammatical errors, but that’s just the way it will have to be! Wink

  45. ultimathule says:

For me, the ultimate goal of grammar is to provide clarity – the process by which we can transmit to another exactly what we mean. I’m not hung up on “like” or starting a sentence with “And.” It’s all in the context – formal/informal/conversation. Precision and beauty are what I love. A great verb always excites me in a sentence.

ITA, ulti. Language is very, very sexy. I can be just as intrigued by an unexpected turn of phrase as by the more obvious physical attractions.
Adam speaks well and articulately; a pleasure to listen to him, and def part of the overall attraction for me.
