After a very busy couple of weeks of promo and radio concerts following the release of “Trespassing” on May 15, Adam will head to London early this month to begin preparations for his upcoming concerts with Queen. He will do some album promo and a couple of live performances in the UK as well, where Trespassing is set for a July 2 release date. One of these shows is the “Rays of Sunshine” charity event at the very prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. Adam will also return briefly to the US for a free radio concert in San Francisco on June 24.

Our featured photo (Brian Ach – Getty Images) for this month shows Adam in a very happy mood while performing at the KTUPhoria radio concert. Enjoy the chat!

That was such a fun interview, mils. Thanks for bringing it back. The part where he spoke about always wanting to be on radio made me a bit sad, but the Miami Beach “what is he wearing” part made me laugh. Smile
And yes, nice necklace and boots — loved the interviewer!

I loved that pic: The Wanted with the Most Wanted!

Sorry folks, I’m with cwm and UK Glamour mag, loved Adam’s dapper 40’s retro look. He apparently loves gray, his Idol jacket was shades of gray also and it’s very flattering on him. It’s lighter and really makes him look younger, to me. In all my trips to the UK going back to 1987 I’ve noticed hardly anyone wears white, even in summer, but they wear a lot of lighter grays, khakis, etc.
I loved GN’s tweet to Adam too – “See you next time.” Bodes well for another visit sometime.

Digging around the Bowie/Queen videos, I found this. Queen and George Michael: Somebody to Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=f1YYjpcvx7w&NR=1
Amazing. I really don’t know how Adam can keep his nerves in check with all this history.

Just came back from the nice afternoon garden party and decided to make a short visit to Adamland… A lot of fashion talk here Laugh My opinion: interesting gray jacket (not the best fit though), white shirt nice, but I think he should avoid loose trousers. Felt the same in the London charity concert… But I loved the black outfit he had at the evening party two days ago, he looked very good Smile And the blue jacket with some glitter (?) on shoulders looked great, I think he wore it in Canada. Many great jackets…

Thanks Asif for the old Adam videos – I saved them for later watch, my connection is too slow at the country house.

Someone was asking about the “house plant” question. I think it was this link, but you have to scroll to the end, the video is after all the news. They were twitter fan questions.

I just posted something on the Wilkes-Barre thread. My vid of the complete concert, uninterrupted.

CAVEAT: this is NOT professional quality!!! I made it as a souvenir vid, just propped the camera on the railing and let it happen. No close-ups, no HD, just a vid of what I saw from the front row mezzanine, start to finish.

But in conjunction with other peeps’ great vids of individual songs, and the close-ups, I think my little vid gives a well-rounded concert experience, showing the whole stage and the first couple of rows of delirious peeps.
(And btw it takes forfrickingever to upload an almost hour-long video!)
    I hope you like it.

The model reminded me more of Mr. Spock than Elvis.

My thoughts exactly, an androgynous Mr. Spock. I do think Adam is rocking the Elvis vibe tho.
After seeing the jacket enlarged, it is pretty cool.

ETA: just saw the post above with the same item. This link will take you right to the interview on youtube, though, and it is downloadable for those who want to save it. there are also several other pieces of the “omg” interview if you look on the youtube sidebar.

Thanks so much, Krad, for putting up the W-B video. Just watched the entire performance – put it up nice and loud – just great. And you kept the applause at the end – wish more camera people would do that – adds so much to the enjoyment of the concert. Really appreciated.

  12. ultimathule says:

lol, luval – looks like the same outfit.

I hate polls and voting these days but this looks like the important one since radio isn’t helping.

haha yeah, like people said… he WAS channeling Elvis big time and he may not even have realized it.

  14. luval says:

    dot…nm the photo…already posted.

Adam was with The Wanted at the Springle Ball. Maybe they didn’t get a chance to chat then.

  15. ultimathule says:

What’s first-half MVP, luval? I’ve been posting on that site (AQD has all these sites available). Some of the categories are obvious, but not sure what should put in some of the others.

  16. luval says:

ultimathule…I’m not sure you have to vote in each category. I just voted in the “#1 billboard 200 album”, “best style” and “most anticipated music event”….Adam & Queen.

I hope my votes are counted even though I didn’t vote in every category. MVP I would fill in Adam Lambert, of course. But what do you think?

  17. jlurksacto says:

GN on in approx. 1 1/2 hour:

keeping direct stream up close and personnal

  18. ultimathule says:

Still not sure what “first-half MVP” means. Maybe I’ll go look it up.

    GN – 5:35 pm. EST – YES!
    Setting the alarm.

  19. luval says:

ultimathule…first-half MVP means Billboard’s first half of the year most valuable player. They’ll probably have a poll for the second half around December. gah!

  20. luval says:

jlurk…after clicking on that link you just posted, which of those categories is the show?

Recap on Atop by someone in the audience:

We DID make it to the Graham Norton Show last night and Todt05 and I had a fabulous time.

So sorry not to get here sooner but I ended up in London with a laptop that didn’t work and a ten year old mobile phone that barely makes calls, let alone does tricks with the net!
Don’t ever give me the job of Roving Reporter…..just got home and back to my beloved computer before the show airs at 10.35 – it’s 5.30 pm here now.

Am I now going to tell you things everyone already knows? Oh well….

Adam was great, of course. He looked far better than even these photos show – he was glowing and shiny and looked very classy. He sang (NCOE) at the end and then joined Will-I-Am, Miriam Margolies and Greg ?(comedian) on the sofa. Graham made clear that his album was No1 and that he was working with Queen. I suspect his part will be cut down to a couple of mins and this will be the content – but great content and Adam spoke very well.
Adam was very composed and dignified.
He got great cheers though most people were there to see Will-I-Am but I’m sure he has done himself a power of good. No talk of ‘gay’, except from Miriam, who is gay and who also told Will that she had never talked to a ‘black man’ before which drew audible gasps (she is definitely NOT my cup of tea – possibly the crudest person ever though amusing enough with a bit of editing, I’m sure).
Graham Norton was amazing – he was so relaxed and assured and everything went quickly and smoothly. Didn’t think to time it but I imagine they will edit about 20 mins out in total. I hope most of that is Miriam’s stories of giving bj’s to total strangers and getting builders to feel her boobs. (If you don’t hear those stories – good).

We had very good seats right in the middle and about 7 rows back – really couldn’t be better – right between the sofa and the singing stage. The studio is very much smaller than it looks – the two areas are only perhaps 15 feet apart so the position was perfect for us.
Hard to say how many Adam ‘supporters’ in the audience but they did him proud with their enthusiasm. I think Graham liked Adam – he nipped across once, while Adam was getting ready to sing, to see if he was ok – of course, Adam was. I noticed that at one stage the floor manager gave Adam a hug.

It seems he was whisked away pretty quickly afterwards while the others stayed to party a bit – but I’m sure Brian and Roger would appreciate that!

Lovely evening and Adam will make a lot of fans if the televised impression is as good as the live one.

  22. jlurksacto says:

They should be the same. Open them at the same time (different pages) and
    compare.

  23. glambotgram says:

I just love Adam’s look from Graham Norton, very classy, gloves and all. I think he channels Elvis in many of his looks.
I think the fit was fine, the way it was meant to be. It is a longer style jacket. I still think he looks very sexy.

    saw this tweet too

    wow…perfect show!

  25. jlurksacto says:

“what’s her face” should be put out to pasture.

  26. luval says:

God, she’s sooooooo annoying! Like that Beth Ditto on the other show. It’s all about them!

  27. jlurksacto says:

    WIL I AM is good!

  28. luval says:

Yes he is, jlurk. I’ve always admired him.

  29. luval says:

    Again…..all about her!!!!

I think his socks are purple.

  30. luval says:

Well, a shortened version of NCOE and he only got a couple of words in but he looked fantastic. Except for the part around the collar when he bent his head forward, to me the suit looked like it fit perfectly.

  31. ultimathule says:

    Not enough pretty.

“What’s Her Face” was amusing for about five minutes and then she took over the place – downhill from there.

  32. glambotgram says:

YEP I still love the suit. I missed what he said when Miriam was telling her story about the guy in the tree, when he looked shocked

  33. ultimathule says:

will.i.am – whatever – was really good. Would’ve been a better show with just him and Adam (and maybe the other guy – he was intermittently amusing).

Yes – got that Beth Ditto vibe, too. Don’t know when to shut up.

  34. Kradamour says:

OMG still wiping tears from my eyes…that was the funniest thing I have seen in YEARS!!! I had no idea WilIAm (not sure where the dots go) was so sharp and funny and perceptive and warm…don’t like his music but I might buy it anyway. Not sure about the tall guy. The woman had me in hysterics…so deadpan, so wonderfully self-aware, such awesome timing! I wish that she was going to bring her tour to my neck of the woods. She and WilIAm made such a terrific team, it was so interesting to see his body language start with leaning away from her and end with them snuggling on the couch! omg I am still wiping away tears!!!
Oh and Adam, right-o! That suit is better in person but still big in the collar but I’m gonna drop that issue. The whole look was oversized so it was better and moved really well. His very large feet look even larger in white shoes, though, not sure that was a look. He looked so rested and happy and YOUNG!
Did anyone else think his throat was tight in the beginning? He looked tense, that was not an open look, ditto for when he went over to sit on the couch. Very well received, though. The male backup singers were interesting, I liked them.
Okay gonna read other comments now that I have finished the “brain dump” post. Sorry for the long ramble but I just LOVED that whole show so much!
    Yes Yes Yes

  35. ultimathule says:

He looked smashing, too – he’s beautiful in paler colors. That last shot – sitting on the couch – his profile – just gorgeous.

  36. PlanetFierce says:

Thank you so much for posting up the GN link. How lucky am I to walk in from work, sit down, and right away I am watching the show!!! What a great show. Will I am was very funny!! I thought Adam looked great. I think the suit looked perfect and was meant to fit looser to achieve the retro feel and to make the shoes relevant and timeless. His height is what made the outfit work though, those long ass legs of his! Nice that there was time to get him on the couch after he sang…seemed a bit impromptu, so a bonus!! Thanks again and hope everyone is well. I only have time to lurked here and there these days, but this is my go to place for everything Adam.

  37. Kradamour says:

Oh, we didn’t like the woman? Okay. (hangs head)
    No No No

  38. Kradamour says:

I get that she never shut up – but it was what brought out the humor from the others, I thought. WilIAM alone was a little boring, but when he interacted with her…magic! I would have liked to hear her interact with Adam. I think he would have reacted the way he does to Michelle Collins, whose style is very similar to this woman, I think.
But I am happy to denounce her if that is the will of the blog.
    Grin Grin Grin

  39. Kradamour says:

The suit was a darker gray than I expected, so not bad at all with the black gloves. Maybe the suit needed a shirt with a collar to fit as it should. I can definitely see that Adam would be attracted to the wonderful architectural feel of the designer. Those lapels are so clever!

BTW, that other jacket that someone posted a pic of – above a bit, the black and gray patchwork sort of jacket – I don’t think we ever saw that again, did we? Odd that something has never seen the light of day again, not like our boy at all. But it was not a flattering jacket. Maybe he thought so, too.

  40. glambotgram says:

I think she is funny Krad She tells lots of funny stories. Has had a very interesting life and Graham adores her I think. She was on recently too.

  41. ultimathule says:

I just find her “schtick” overdone – pretending to not knowing she’s being outrageous. (I’m not nuts about female comedians, generally, anyhow – hard for them not to become strident.)

And think you’re right, Krad, about a slight tenseness. There’s a lot riding on making it in the UK, and the humor there is somewhat different from here.

What didn’t like was when Adam sat down she wasn’t generous enough to turn the conversation to him – it was still all about her.

  42. luval says:

glambotgram…I missed what he said too.

kradamour…you can like her with your head held up high! To each his/her own. She was actually better to listen to when she was in a thoughtful way…not the joking. And yes, Adam coming to the couch seemed impromptu.
I think his voice at the beginning was a bit hesitant but got better as the song went on.
All in all I think he did fine and I just loved his suit. But…the hair….I think Abrea would have done a better job with the coloring. Unless that’s the way he wanted it…chunks of blonde instead of streaks. Here’s the best picture I could find of the chunks.

Hi ulti! You hit the nail on the head for me. Love the suit. I’d wear it in a heartbeat. Big minus though for the gloves. The song was shortened so I wasn’t thrilled with this performance because he didn’t hit THAT note at the end of the song … “never close our EEYYYYEEESSS … never”.

Otherwise, it was great. Big Smile

Didn’t Adam say, “I’m going to be offended” or are you talking about something else?

  47. JOJOSIE says:

Kradamour I’m with you. I thought she was hilarious. Couldn’t stop laughing. I call it English humor. They seem to be able to say anything but the way they say it cracks me up. I disagree on the suit tho as I really like it. He really looked young and sexy to me. It was great to be able to see it so well on my computer. Big Smile

  48. little dutchess says:

Did anyone else think his throat was tight in the beginning? He looked tense, that was not an open look

YES! First thing I thought and he looked tense too. Got much better as he went along and finally became our Adam!

  49. Kradamour says:

YES! First thing I thought and he looked tense too. Got much better as he went along and finally became our Adam!

We know him Better Than He Knows Himself.
I think he was very aware of being out of his element. He likely heard/saw the interaction on the couch while he was in the green room prior to his going out…and we know that Adam still has some issues with being the odd one, not fitting in. There was quite a mutual admiration society going on, those 3 peeps had been sitting together for all the show, and then here was Adam brought in to join them. Notice how he very consciously leaned in to physically join the group? Rather than relaxing back as they were. This was a tough gig for him in a variety of ways. And his “big sisters” weren’t there to have his back in the way that we do here, although there clearly were some glamberts.

Re the woman not welcoming Adam into the circle…from what we see here, that seems to be true. Not to defend her, but I think this, too, was a group dynamic thing. The same vibe that made Adam feel a little bit excluded is probably also the vibe that kept her from embracing him into the already-formed-and-tight-group.
But it definitely would have been nice had she been welcoming.

  50. luval says:

Well, I’m glad this show is over. Onward to Queen! (with a little SanFrancisco in between).
