Want to say to riskylady….AMEN! To your thoughts in the radio stations. I want to write a letter to my local one but I am afraid to say the wrong things and get them angry. I wish someone would compose a letter we can all refer to that would be appropriate to send to these bums to get our point across.
Hi asif, thought I’d drop in and keep you company for a while..just finished my dinner, and just about to go out and take my 2 youngest to the theatre to see Annie. Went to a jazz and poetry evening last night organised by my daughter (the one in the video)…..so much culture the last couple of days.

I’ve been lurking now on this site for a few days, and I have to say I am impressed about your intelligent and friendly conversation! I joined another Adam site a couple months ago when I was seriously infected by Adam virus
Conversation there is sometimes quite negative, so I was hoping to find better place to visit… I think I did 
I have to say this is the first time in my ~40 years life to fall like this to any artist! But I have learned I am not the only one 
I guess most of you are not teens either?
I am a quite new Adam fan, so please forgive me if I haven’t passed my master’s degree in Adam knowledge yet

So riskylady, how do you really feel about radio?
There is clearly no rhyme or reason to who is played or why they are played or when they are played. All the stations are owned by conglomerates. Kinda like everything else. One giant department store chain decides what peeps will wear, because that is what there is to buy (hello, Macy’s)(and this breaks my heart because back in the day I was a buyer and each city had its own independent department store…I was able to find wonderful things for my customers, spend time in our stores, meet the customers and store staff…now someone sits in a giant office and orders with a mouse click for the whole country)…and it is just as hard to get on Macy’s vendor list as it is for Adam to get played on the radio…
Peeps who want something else to wear have to seek out the smaller shops, and peeps who want to hear Adam have to seek out the smaller venues and be very pro-active fans and support him like the smaller local shops are supported.
Bah.
Have we thought about college radio? Many colleges have stations that broadcast into the community, not designed to just be campus stations. My husband listens to one pretty faithfully. Many of them play all sorts of things.
Okay, that is about it for this hand now. Ice is my friend!

That was a very good analogy, kradamour. The reward for shopping at the smaller shops and boutiques is that you usually leave with something far more fashionable and unique than what you would find from the mass-merchandiser. Same with Adam – he may be operating on a smaller scale, but the quality of his music and performance isn’t even comparable to what you get with mass-radio. I still hope he achieves the level of stardom and radio-play that he yearns for, but in the meantime, I’m thrilled to have found this very exclusive “boutique designer” who continually thrills those “in the know”, lol.

Beiber has a white t-shirt on my View show? When he sang that song solo, it was absolutely horrible. He would not make the first cut on any singing show. He has been groomed and dressed for years by his people, and now that he is 18 and on his own, he has no idea how to sing and act or dress. Remember he hung out with Adam in London, and I wouldnt be surprised if he really is in awe of Adam, so he is trying to copy him in singing and dressing.
Remember that evening, Miss Chaos – think Adam was partying after learning about the #1 debut? Katy Perry there? Do you think Adam and Bieber actually met again that night? Interesting, if so.

. I had visited some other sites earlier but they seemed too “messy” or difficult to follow. This one I had not found before, and liked.
There was an interesting thread to introduce the beginnings of your Glambert life – it was nice to read the stories of how you were introduced to Adam. But no one had written there for a long time, so I wasn’t sure if anyone checks it anymore. Most of you seem to be Adam fans since AI. Please don’t shoot me, I saw him in AI (they show it in my country too) and thought he was something special, but it took me 3 (wasted?
) years to follow what he’s been doing since then… Have to add that I am not following pop music or radio, so I am an old fart who keeps listening to her good old albums 
Anyway, it was this spring I saw his name on the headlines and became curious what he’s been doing. It was a road I couldn’t turn back… I read some common news and wikipedia first, then started searching youtube. His Idol performances (didn’t remember he was SO good and what he had performed back then), Glam Nation performances, and then tons of great interviews from the beginning of this year. Every video lead to ten new… It was grazy, I couldn’t stop (spent couple of full nights too I have to confess). Besides his great voice, I fell in love with his magnetic and sexy performance style, open and honest personality, intelligence…
I wish there was someone else “new fan” I could share feelings with. You can just imagine what it was like to digest all his stuff at the same time!!! Old album, new album, Glam nation tour… Sometimes I felt quit confused because I like his current style very much but I also liked the glam thing – oh he was SO hot on tour videos
! I sometimes read some old threads to find same kinds of feelings from others – understandably old fans were fully in with current issues.
It’s been crazy 2 months almost out of reality
((un)fortunately I was in a situation where I was able to concentrate sometimes full time to my new treasure). My friends are surprised of my strong reactions, they don’t share my enthousiasm or love in this… That’s why I search it in here. I am slightly coming back to reality after studing and watching Adam so much, I have started to do other things again 
But I can’t stop following what’s going on. I have always liked music, it gives me a lot emotionally when it’s my kind of music. But this is the first time I go behind the music – and the person who performs it.

I think Bieber just saw Adam partying with Katy Perry, the Wanted, Jessie J, Carly Rae, et al, after the G-A-Y performance. They all performed in a CapitalFM concert at Wembley that day, and were at a club called CirqueduSoir when Adam and Sauli joined them. The club even tweeted them all afterwards saying they made the night special, and a London tabloid also picked up the story, mentioning Adam and Bieber. LOL I do believe Bieber is starstruck, maybe like the rest of us. Can’t blame him, I guess. (But I do.)
LadyNorth, loved your story of Adam immersion. Sort of like mine, only I did discover him a little earlier, by watching the AMAs. I always refused to watch Idol, and never even read my copy of EW with him on the cover. But after the AMAs, read the story about his New Year’s Eve show being cancelled and began trying to find his replacement gig and videos, watched them, and was HOPELESSLY AND COMPLETELY GONE. Been that way ever since. I still had to go back and watch all the Idol and Idol tour stuff (hooked on Bowie medley for life). My family misses me.

Ulti, I really agree your thoughts about Bieber’s video. Some weeks ago I decided to watch the video (Boyfriend) to see who is this Bieber and was shocked that he is supposed to be 18. He looks like.. 14? Nothing against him, but I feel like if I was his fan the way I am Adam’s it’d feel like child abuse
He is a cute baby but his appearance or voice doesn’t give me any kicks – let little girls have him.
What an incredible event, LadyNorth, to experience the full Adam tsunami in such a short time. It was life-changing enough for me to get it in real time since Idol in 2008. It’s one crazy trip we’re all on – and a real roller-coaster one at that.

Like anyother addict, I’m slightly jealous remembering the intensity of my addiction and the excitement I felt every day coming home from work and running to my computer. Though you didn’t get to see Adam’s GN tour, you have much good times ahead of your starting with QUEEN!
I still love our BB and spend way too much time on the computer and iphone checking on his every move but the intensity of those first several months can’t be matched. Like all obsessions they do calm down a bit. So happy to have you enjoying the wild ride with us.

Funny thing with fans, two of my friends who liked him on Idol, don’t like TS, but my other friend who didn’t even know he existed got hooked of Adam after watching EMA performance and loves Trespassing.This is what I call an unbiased fan.She even bought FYE and I had to stop her, cause she was going for BegForMoney and TakeOne.
My other friends who didn’t like TS are somehow stuck in the oldies era music and are deaf to anything else.

You are so right, LadyNorth! I teach 11/12/13 year-olds, and they are his biggest fans. OMG… They come to school dressed in purple (his favorite color) and even have mock weddings after school hours that they have told me all about. Nuts!! I recently watched the Today Show tape from Bieber’s appearance a few days ago. Interesting audience…. Ages seemed to range from pre-school to high school. It will even be more interesting to see how his future pans out in ten years. I have issues with fame coming way too fast at an early age. I always feel that these young celebrities are just way too young to handle all that is involved.
also good news, Adam went from 800 and something to 92 on the UK chart in the last week and a half.

Was just at the pet store with my Adam shirt on. The cashier said “you like Adam Lambert”? duh…of course I told her all about my travels. I did ask if she got his new album yet.
