dcglam, I’m sure Adam’s fanbase would help Xtina alot. She kind of fell off her throne a bit over the last year with the poor sales, forgetting the words to the N.A. during the Super Bowl, and falling during the Grammy performance. Wow – that’s a bad year! But I have enjoyed her on The Voice. She, and the rest of the judges, are so entertaining.

adamland — thanks for clarifying. Sorry for my mistaken assumption! I totally understand the delicate and tricky nature of it all, and I guess that’s why I was wondering what is best way for us all to handle it. Thanks again for your, Suz’s, and eywflyer’s leadership!

ooooooh…luv Ricky Martin..or how about Adam and Mark Anthony? He was great on AI finale. I’m really trying to think of some great male singers who could fit nicely with Adam’s voice. Am having a hard time! Bowie, but like mils said…it’ll never happen.

  4. Ron says:

    Good late evening, Smile

I’m not very knowledgeable in this area so will ask: do male vocalists collaborate and record with other male singers? I can’t think of any but then I wouldn’t know. I can think of quite a few female singers singing with other female recording artists. First one that came to mind (winks at mils) is Barbra Streisand. Barbra and Celine, for example. To go back much further, Barbra and Donna Summer. (When I first heard their song, it really was “enough” when it ended) Smile

I think it would be great if someone of Barbra’s stature invited Adam to sing on their CD. It would be a validation for Adam and his talent and give him greater exposure than having someone like Christina (great singer!) appear on his CD. Although, Christina appearing on his CD would be very significant.

I don’t think I’d specify Barbra to have Adam sing with her even though her CD’s always debut at #1. After the initial release, her CD’s quickly fade and Barbra’s audience isn’t exactly the kind that Adam should be pursuing for himself. Of course though, the more fans the better! I’d also guess that Barbra isn’t aware of Adam. Frown

So here’s hoping that a huge recording artist will invite Adam to duet on their CD. Even if Adam’s management has to persuade said huge recording artist with flowers and a new car, Grin it would be a very good thing for Adam.

  5. luval says:

So Adam still may be in London…with Sauli, doing some recording, and maybe doing a modeling spread for MAC cosmetics. He did go to that MAC party the other night. One can only dream. The first multi-million dollar male spokesperson for a cosmetic giant. I could not fathom what a commercial might be like except those eyes would get some use.

No problem since I am the only one of the three of us who has worked with MJ I was logically the one to talk to her about our site. Yes it is tricky and we are trying to figure it out withuot causing any problems between the 2 sites. You’re welcome and I hope this site continues to be a great place for all of us as we grow.

  7. luval says:

Hi Ron! I think the male artists that collaborate these days are the rap ones. T-Pain and whats-his-name. Kayne and JayZ? PitBull and everyone. Smile

  8. dcglam says:

    Ron, you are so right…..
Offhand, I can’t think of any male/male collaborations either. I’m sure they must be out there, but my mind doesn’t seem to be going in that direction. I’ll probably be up all night now trying to come up with a duo — lol. However, there seems to be plenty of female/female collaborations as well as female/male. Wink

ETA: Ah…. the rap ones, luval. I don’t pay a whole lot of attention to rap music, so no wonder these musicians would skip my mind.

Hi Ron! I think the male artists that collaborate these days are the rap ones.

Hi luval!! That makes sense. I didn’t even think of Rap singers.

I think I can safely apply yet another double standard. No one bats an eye when two female vocalists record together but … two men? There would be lots of raised eyebrows (most not as thick as Adam’s) Smile with thoughts of: what’s up with that? Are these guys a couple?! I didn’t know so-and-so was gay!

  10. luval says:

haha Ron..you’re correct. Now I gotta sign off. Good night everyone.

  11. Ron says:

Does Elton John still make CD’s? If so, that would be a great pairing! Please Sir Elton, as a favor to me, Smile invite Adam to sing with you on your next CD.

  12. Ron says:

Hi dcglam! Always a pleasure to see you! Wink

  13. dcglam says:

Why, thank you, Ron……. and yes, Adam and Elton would rock!!! Smile

  14. milwlovesadam says:

There are a lot of male “duets” now just called “feats” as in “featuring”. None of them are gay guys. If Adam did a “feat” it would just be called gay gay gay. All they would talk and write about would be the gay. It wouldn’t be about the music.

Ugh. Get over it already. They did in Russia. While protesters were being arrested and beaten, Adam was being interviewed, and to my knowledge, not one mention of the “gay.”

  15. Ron says:

    Hi mils!!

Can you (a new term I’m making up) “fake-hear” Barbra and Adam singing “The Prayer?”

    I can hear it!

  16. Kradamour says:

I knew Adam and Sam Sparro wrote Voodoo together, didn’t know he sang backup on it. Cool!

For what it is worth, the Ste Agathe festival has all its programmation up (finally!) and Adam and Kenny Rogers are the priciest tickets at $50 each. Eric Lapointe is $35, the four women are $40 (four individual performers), and Maxime Landry is $30.
Adam’s bio on the site still is pretty lame. No mention of grammy nom. Or that he came in 2d on Idol, he is just shown as a participant. I thought someone had posted that that had been updated but I must have imagined it. Frown

  17. milwlovesadam says:

I’ve been listening to Adele’s new CD a lot. She is just a musical genius and sings like nobody else. The song that kills me, and that I play loud over and over is #5, “Set Fire to the Rain.” And “Someone Like You.” And, Ryan Tedder helped with “Rumor Has It”, my other fave.

If Adam sang with her, it would be a very savvy move for both of them.

  18. milwlovesadam says:

Ron, I can hear it! But, alas, I don’t think it will happen. Even though Leah Michelle has been singing Babs on Glee, and even though she sang at her tribute in LaLa Wood earlier this year, Adam with Babs is just a fantasy. Oh, but, it would make a heavenly noise.

  19. Kradamour says:

Collaboration: Adam and Cher. I really, really want that. I think I posted it a while ago. Maybe months ago. Adamtime doesn’t seem to be chronological LOL.
She is so campy and fun, even now. I think they would have a blast together and make amazing music. She could be a “feat” on his album. Two pairs of mesmerizing eyes…and two sets of great pipes. Mmmm….

  20. milwlovesadam says:

While we’re at it, I have listened to a lot of Gaga this past year. I think Speechless is her best song yet. However, on her new CD, I really like Edge of Glory, and Hair. I love the lyrics of Hair, the meaning behind it, and, she really lets loose vocally toward the end, just wide open voice. Love it.

I thought someone had posted that that had been updated but I must have imagined it.

Hi Kradamour!! That someone was me. The bio was updated as it now includes a Link to AO that originally wasn’t there. Not exactly what we were hoping for but it’s a slight improvement.

  22. milwlovesadam says:

Just read that they cast Lenny Kravitz as Cinna for Hunger Games.

  23. Ron says:

    Kradamour,

    Ahh, you mentioned Cher.

I’ve always thought and still think to this day that she would be the ideal, perfect judge on “American Idol”!!

I admire her so and this is someone who doesn’t pull any punches or sugar-coats things.

I can imagine her saying after someone’s performance, “Dude, what the hell was THAT? You’ve got to be kidding me!”. LOL

  24. dcglam says:

Yep, Kradamour….. I’m also on team Cher, and for all the reasons you mentioned.

I have been watching Showbiz Tonight. The big story is Rihanna’s new violent video, “Man Down”, where she actually shoots and kills an abuser. Many are saying she went too far over the top; others are saying she is just expressing herself through her music. Yikes! And to think that our boy continues to be black listed from ABC for “expressing himself through his music.” It will be interesting to see what happens with Rihanna and this video.

  25. Kradamour says:

Ron, the failings of that Ste Agathe website are legion. I really get the feeling that it is sort of “Hey, kids, let’s put on a show!”. We are less than two months out from what they originally hoped would draw 60,000 people and the information about the first night’s act just went up! And on the websites of those performers (4 women) the festival isn’t listed on their coming concerts. Whomever is doing marketing and publicity needs to be shown the door.
OTOH, fewer people will be a wonderful concert. Not crazy about a madding crowd.

  26. Ron says:

I’m in total agreement with you Kradamour about the Festival! Whomever they are aren’t doing a very good job but I do take into consideration that it’s their first time. I definitely want them to get it together though in terms of mailing me my Passport tic!

I’ve never been to a GA concert and I’m also not thrilled about the maddening crowd!

But, you know what? It’s all going to work out beautifully!

  27. Kradamour says:

Hmmm, Cher as a judge…YES! I’d buy a real TV and watch Idol if she became a judge. Brilliant idea! Love love love her. That vid of “If I Could Turn Back Time” on the battleship…watching that is about as close to swooning as I get. Damn.

Rihanna…girl gone wrong. An amazing voice (another Adam collab!) but personal life srsly screwed up, and from what I read I get the impression that fame is not being good to her and that she is unhappy. Such a shame. And she seems determined to create an oeuvre of totally impersonal animalistic sex. WTF? Kids don’t need to hear that a hundred times a day on the radio. (“I’m no prude but…”)
Maybe spending some time working with Adam could soften her view of men. Heck, Adam is all kinds of therapy for all kinds of people! why not Rihanna? Smile

  28. Kradamour says:

But, you know what? It’s all going to work out beautifully!

Of course it is, Ron! Cos we’ll be there! Grin

  29. milwlovesadam says:

Ron, Cher would be such a great judge on Idol. I agree.

Rihanna walks such a thin line. Her S&M song bothers me for it’s lyrics, goodness knows, I’m not a prude, but, man, those lyrics are rough stuff. And Adam was banned for kissing a dude? And the press still talks about it? Has anybody seen the video for S&M? Seriously?

  30. nkd says:

Ron, I’m with you on wanting my passport tickets in my mailbox! And my US passport, as well!

Cher as an Idol judge? Yes! Smile

I may tarnish my reputation with this, but Rihanna’s S&M is one of my favorite dance around songs right now! Wink

  31. milwlovesadam says:

nkd, the song sounds fun, but the lyrics are not my cuppa. I also like the sound of the Eminem song, but when you hear the lyrics, it’ about domestic abuse, and not in a good way empowering way.

What I don’t get, is how she can be beaten by Chris Brown, charge him with a crime, then glorify violence in her music?

  32. Kradamour says:

mils, I’m gonna have to listen to GaGa’s new album again. I was so disappointed in it…I just thought it was GaGa trying too hard and missing the mark. Maybe I was in a bad mood.

  33. nkd says:

mils, I understand your view on the lyrics. With the domestic abuse thing with Chris Brown, the turn the lyrics of her songs have made is a bit confusing to me as well.
But dang it I just have to bop around to that song!!!

  34. Kradamour says:

As a teacher, I really really hate the turn that Rihanna’s lyrics are taking. My kids – especially the girls – love her and look up to her. That Eminem song? I turn off the radio every time it comes on. Can.not.stomach.it. I didn’t buy the grammy compilation CD, even though it has Adam on it, because I would not contribute to a record that contains that song. Mils, I loved the way you put it: “and not in a good way empowering way”. Exactly. It was every excuse that abusers use, put to a beat. And Rihanna sang the cliche victim part. Long ago I volunteered as a rape crisis/domestic violence counselor and I heard those lyrics too many times. Don’t need to hear them again on the radio.

  35. Ron says:

I would pay to see you bop, nkd, in Quebec! I’m trying to think of a French translation for “bop”. LOL There isn’t one word for it … would have to be several words.

Kradamour? Just for fun, please translate “bop”. Smile

  36. nkd says:

Ron, I’m not sure you want to see me “bop”! Wink

  37. Ron says:

We’ll see about that, nkd. Grin

  38. Ron says:

Our dear luval is going to bring her … oh, some kind of player … that she’ll ask managements permission if she can play Adam CD’s on the terrace. Something like that, right luval? (I know you’ve long gone to bed by now).

So, you and I nkd just might be bopping together! I’m so glad you’re leaving your husband at home. LOL

  39. nkd says:

I don’t know Ron, there’s a lot of jiggly in my bop! Wink

  40. Ron says:

I’ll wear protection Smile … (by that, I mean my suit of armor) Smile Sounds like I’m going to need it! Are you in to metal?? LOL

  41. Ron says:

It’s been a long time, but I just stretched my jiggly muscles and they still work. We’re going to be fine. Smile

  42. nkd says:

    HUH??? LOL Grin

  43. Kradamour says:

Ron, we’re in luck! “bop” in French is “bop”. Grin

ETA: well, used familiarly. In Canada only.

  44. nkd says:

So if I want to bop, I can bop in French with no translation needed?!!

  45. Ron says:

All you need to know is that we’re going to be fine, nkd Wink

I’ve never asked before … your daughter is going with you to Quebec to accompany you or your daughter is an Adam fan?

  46. nkd says:

My daughter likes Adam, but thinks I’m nuts! She worked her way into this trip!!!
I think we scare her just a bit! Smile
She will be 19 the week after the concert.

  47. nkd says:

BTW Ron, she’s not getting the sequin shorts, so please feel free to wear yours! Wink

  48. Ron says:

Just wait. By sheer numbers, we’ll convince your daughter that you are not “nuts”! I look forward to meeting both of you!

Can’t wait. 45 days to go!

  49. nkd says:

45 days! Is that all? I got some jiggly to lose before then!

ETA Just counted. It’s 55 days!

  50. Kradamour says:

In the interest of compromise, let’s say 50. Smile

    G’nite, peeps! Sweet Adam dreams!
