    ‘morning, peeps!
Got back last night, ready to resume life. (It was nice to be missed, Ron!)

Loved the posts re the gay marriage in NY, a HUGE jurisdiction and I think it is significant that it is on the east coast.

Spent part of my time away with a former Quebecoise from Montreal who knows and loves Ste Agathe, BTW. It was a three day program at the French Embassy and I haven’t eaten so well in a very long time.
(Since I was in France, actually. Smile )

  2. Ceddies says:

I came here earlier and decided everyone was still hung over from last evening’s treats, so I just went on out to weed my vegetable garden. Good therapy!

Now I come here and find that Kradamour has returned. Welcome back! Sounds like you really had a good few days away. Glad you could do that at this time. Also wish you could have been here with us last evening.

I’ll check back here later on.

  3. Kradamour says:

  4. adamized says:

Welcome back kradamour! Woke up at 4AM to check to see that NY had made the right decision to provide basic rights to all citizens. I can only hope that the legalization of same sex marriage becomes the norm in my lifetime. Reading a book now called “Loving Frank” set in the early 1900s prior to women’s right to vote. Here we are over a century later and there is still such a long way to go but… some things are moving in the right direction.

  5. Ceddies says:

BTW, has anyone seen SunSister here or other threads lately? I hardly go to other threads so wouldn’t know if she’s still around. Anyone know how to get in touch with her and let her know about us over here? I was thinking about her and suddenly realized that she is due for Happy Birthday wishes either today or for sure before the end of the month. So, SunSister, if you’re lurking, come on out and be with us for your birthday!

  6. little dutchess says:

    Hi all-
Is anyone else having trouble accessing the festival website-
http://www.steagatheenfeux.com besides me. It’s been happening for days now-I get a message that says “you do not have permission to access this document”.

  7. Kradamour says:

Ste Agathe has it’s own page on the Adam Official site, don’t know if anyone else posted it:
    http://www.adamofficial.com/us/event/2011/07/29/st-agathe-en-feux-festival

A recent article about the festival listed Adam first!

  8. Kradamour says:

Little Dutchess, I get that, too. ewyflyer, is it only the link from this blog?

  9. little dutchess says:

    ewflyer-

NO! No matter what link I use from anywhere or even if I put the address in myself I always get the same reply.

  10. eywflyer says:

Little dutchess, it’s not just the link from here, tried googling and the first result is the same link with the same forbidden message.

  11. little dutchess says:

as a matter of fact, when you go to the Adam Official site for the festival that Kradamour posted, if you click on “Buy Tickets” you get the same message about having no permission to access.

ewflyer-that’s been my concern too since I haven’t purchased tickets yet. If you go the ticket site, it appears you can go through the process to get tickets. And didn’t you just buy yours? So that part is ok. but the rest raises my antennas!

  12. Ron says:

Welcome Home, kradamour! You were definitely missed. Glad you had a good time and hope your Mom is doing well.

    Try this Link, guy’s: http://www.steagatheenfeux.com/fr/spectacles/spectacles.html

    Festival is still on!

  13. little dutchess says:

Ron-did to try the link you posted. I get the same message I mentioned previously! What’s going on?

  14. little dutchess says:

sorry for the bold. no clue!

  15. Ron says:

    Hi little dutchess!

I just clicked on the Link I posted and got the main page for the Festival in French. It works for me.

  16. eywflyer says:

Ron, I get the “forbidden” message from your link too.

  17. Ceddies says:

    http://www.last.fm/festival/1931417+Sainte-Agathe+en+Feux

This link has some information about the festival. Maybe not what you’re looking for though. I also could not access my usual links to the festival.

ETA: Not much help, just goes round and round.

  18. Ron says:

Hmmm … what IS going on? Again, it does work for me. If it makes any difference, I’m using Firefox.

  19. Ceddies says:

I just clicked on the Link I posted and got the main page for the Festival in French. It works for me.

Hi, Ron, I just clicked your link and also got the forbidden message. Hmmmm.

    I’m using Firefox too.

  20. eywflyer says:

I’ve tried the link from here and Ron’s link using IE8, Firefox and Chrome and get the forbidden message with all of them. So it seems that only Ron can see the site now? Interesting that he is in Canada and can still see it.

  21. little dutchess says:

Wonder what this all means? Didn’t mean to get everyone in a tizzy!
Didn’t someone have a toll free number for the festival a while back or wasn’t there one on the site that Ron can see?

    Ron- is it there?

  22. Ron says:

I only got the above Link through Google a few minutes ago. I searched with: Ste.-Agathe festival.

This is the page that came up:

    http://www.google.ca/search?q=Ste.-Agathe+festival&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USShockfficial&client=firefox-a

I clicked on the 4th Link from the top.

I wonder if it will appear the same way to you and if the 4th Link takes you to the Festival’s home page?

  23. eywflyer says:

It sure looks like the festival people decided to block access to their site to anyone outside of Canada. Can’t imagine why they would want to do that, since this is apparently a new event trying to get established, but everyone except Ron getting the forbidden message does suggest that. That particular error message indicates that the web server is running, but will not allow the user to view the requested content.

The other possibility is that they misconfigured their website somehow and don’t even realize that they are blocking all of the non-Canadian web traffic.

  24. Ron says:

I just noticed that its: google.ca “ca” standing for Canada.

Maybe one can only view the site within Canada (?)

  25. Ron says:

The toll free phone number for tickets is: 1-888-326-3655

  26. Ceddies says:

Here is the link to the video for the festival that someone posted a few days ago. It is in French, so I don’t know if there is any usable information in the video. Maybe some of you who speak French can listen if you have time.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sssE6UBwTmQ

  27. Kradamour says:

I posted that link, Ceddies, and it is just a general journalvid about the festival.

The other possibility is that they misconfigured their website somehow and don’t even realize that they are blocking all of the non-Canadian web traffic.

    That would be my guess.

  28. Kradamour says:

I just sent a message in French to the city hall email address. I’ll let you know what I hear back! (but probably not until Monday)

  29. Ceddies says:

I posted that link, Ceddies, and it is just a general journalvid about the festival.

Okay, thanks. Well, we’ll just have to be bewildered for now I guess.

ETA: Just saw your post about the city hall. Yeah, maybe Monday we will know something. Thanks.

  30. jlurksacto says:

From MJ’s – full rumor control in effect:

    Fullmoon says:

Yes!!! Adam’s new album has a tentative release date of November 8, 2011.

  31. dcglam says:

    Haha, jlurksacto……
I’ve already been over there and questioned the source.

    Fullmoon says:
    06/25/2011 at 6:48 pm

It’s from a long time poster on Pulse who has insider information on release dates for all albums irrespective of the record label. He is trusted

The poster is very reliable and everyone trusts his sources. The guy is rarely wrong and not afraid to drop names when appropriate.

Hey, I’m excited no matter what the date!

  32. Ron says:

More important to me than owning a copy of Adam’s next CD is for it to receive X amount of Grammy nominations. “Adam Lambert’s 2nd CD is nominated for 10 Awards” would be a nice headline!

If the November 8th, 2011 date is accurate, it appears we’ll have to wait until 2013 for Grammy recognition. Neutral

This is from the Grammy site:

Important Dates For The 54th GRAMMY Awards

    Awards Eligibility Year
(The period during which recordings must be released in order to be eligible)
    Oct. 1, 2010 – Sept. 30, 2011

  33. cwm says:

Sorry I missed the party here last night, but I’m just so damn happy that the marriage equality law passed in New York! My heart has been buoyed by it all day long. Thank you NY for doing the right thing for equality in love and commitment! It was so touching to see all of those people celebrating so joyously outside the Stonewall. One more step forward.

Here’s an article suggesting that the NY vote may have positive national repercussions:

    http://www.npr.org/2011/06/25/137422429/n-y-gay-marriage-vote-may-have-national-impact?ft=1&f=1001&sc=tw&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Activists hope the New York vote will help convince judges and politicians across the country, including a hesitant President Obama, that support of same-sex marriage is now a mainstream viewpoint and a winning political stance.

“New York sends the message that marriage equality across the country is a question of ‘when,’ not ‘if,'” said Fred Sainz, a vice president of the Human Rights Campaign, a gay advocacy group.

  34. luval says:

    Hi Ron!

Now if this supposed first single is released in late August/early September…if it’s a hit…wouldn’t it be eligible or does it have to be a complete CD?

Unlike me luval you make perfect sense! That fact wasn’t anywhere near my thinking process. Smile Thanks for pointing it out!!

    Hi cwm

  36. cwm says:

I’m also very happy that maybe just maybe we have a release date for Adam’s album! Can’t wait. I remember in the months before FYE was released, I could barely contain my excitement to hear his voice singing his own new music and to see what kind of music he would make. Gonna happen all over again this fall.

Hi Ron and luval — I’m assuming that any single released before Sept 30 would be eligible to be nominated next year in one of the song categories, but not the whole album.

  38. eywflyer says:

Kradamour, thanks for sending the email to the Ste. Agathe city hall. Hopefully this is just a website configuration issue and nothing more.

Interesting rumors regarding the album release date, although certainly these dates are subject to delay, as we have seen with Kelly. I’m sure that RCA realizes how important it is to take advantage of Christmas sales season and avoid the dreaded January/February release date, so hopefully any delays will be minor.

Nice quote about Adam from the article that dcglam just linked for us:

his concert I went to in New York was the most exciting and brazenly flamboyant pop show I’ve seen since Boy George

June 26th has arrived here on the East Coast, one year ago tonight found the Glam Nation Tour in Atlantic City at the Borgata Event Center:

Housekeeping note – Thursday is the last day of June and therefore will be the final day of the active chat on this thread. The “July 2011 Chat” thread will be posted sometime Thursday night, and will carry us to Sainte Agathe at the end of the month! Adamland has selected the thread picture for July, and I think you guys will like it!

I believe Baltimore tomorrow, then we’ll be back here in DC!! I still have my ticket stub on the mirror part of my dresser. Smile

  40. eywflyer says:

Here is the original source of the album release date rumor (scroll about 2/3 of the way down the page):

    http://pulsemusic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=artistaj&action=display&thread=94702&page=37

The user who posted it is a “Diamond Member” with over 19,000 posts to their credit, so there could be some credibility there – I don’t know.

Another interesting quote from that same thread:

Claude Kelly, who worked with Adam Lambert on his debut single “For Your Entertainment” in a new interview that he is back in the studio with Adam, making pop music.

“I’m also back in the studio Adam Lambert on the Pop side”

dcglam, yep Baltimore is up next on Monday, followed by DC Tuesday. Then the tour dipped a toe into the Deep South heading toward the 4th of July weekend.

  41. AL says:

Hopefully this is just a website configuration issue and nothing more.

eywflyer, since I can still access the site from here, I sent an e-mail directly to info@steagatheenfeux.com and mentioned that the site was no longer accessible from outside of Canada. It’s been awhile since I typed in French but fortunately, I have a French spell-checker to add the proper accents! Oui, oui, oui!
If anyone needs to contact them but is still unable to access the website:
    Information: info@steagatheenfeux.com
    Tickets: billetterie@steagatheenfeux.com
    T. 819.326.3655
    F. 819.326.7377
    Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Festival-Sainte-Agathe-en-Feux/180371498685130?sk=wall
    Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/Steagatheenfeux

I also found out from the same info page is that cash only will be accepted at the festival grounds. And for security reasons, no glass containers, alcohol or coolers will be allowed on the fireworks/pyromusical site. In addition, no chairs or strollers will be permitted at the show venues.

Several people had mentioned bringing lawn chairs so I would suggest that you double check with the venue before loading them in the car. Blankets would probably be best since those of you from the hot south might need an extra layer to keep you warm during the cool Quebec night. And you can play beach blanket bingo while waiting! Wink

  42. cher says:

Hey Ceddies, Sunsister is definitely around. Her b/day is end of the month. Sent her a message that her presence is being requested here. Smile
Eywflyer, Kradamour… Ron and I would like to know how many of us on the list for St. Agathe are going to have a meal at the SpaWatel restaurant when we do the get together. That way we can make a proper reservation with Lise. Could everyone on the list give us a yes or no so we can give Lise a headcount for food please? Thanks. YES for me. Never pass on a meal. Smile

  43. eywflyer says:

Hi Cher, YES on the restaurant for me! Working on Baltimore recap now, interesting how much shorter the Soaked pause was then. It got longer and longer as the tour went on.

AL, thanks for all of the info re Ste. Agathe. Sounds like blankets will be a good idea, both for sitting and covering up in the evening. Sunset that evening will occur around 830pm, so it could be a bit cool before the concert starts, especially for those of us from Florida! It hasn’t dropped below 70 (21C) here in Key West since early April, and won’t again until October at the earliest.

  44. jlurksacto says:

To list keeper – – Watel food yes

  45. eywflyer says:

Wow – I had never watched the Washington DC WLL video before. Unbelievable!

  46. cher says:

That DC concert was pretty great overall eywflyer. And I wasn’t even there in person!! lol
Ladybugs said to rsvp YES for her to SpaWatel meal.

Yes for me to dinner on the 28th.

  49. Kradamour says:

“yes” for me on the dinner and I will keep track of responses, putting an asterisk after the names of those who will attend the dinner. So far:
