Only five QAL shows left in the short European/UK summer tour and then it’s off for the summer. Let’s hope for some surprises and that Adam is inspired to make beautiful music before returning with the Queen guys in September for their Vegas residency.

    I put the UK top 50 songs on spotify in the car the other day, nearly 30 of them were Drake songs..had to keep fast forwarding as everyone that came on was horrible…

    Thanks mmm222 and rs for answering back my questions. I took your advise and got tickets to the 21st Sept QAL. Encouraged hubby to go too. So I got 2 tickets but just for one show. Good enough. We will be there for 5 days. There are some friends to visit over there as well. We are not gamblers so casinos don’t interest us. Mainly to see places, shows and visit with friends.

    Anybody else are going? We can meet up and have dinner together.

    Can’t wait to see you all. Later I’ll DM or e-mail you details or we can go to the members only thread when times are near.

    This month is a very busy month for me. I won’t be here much or not at all. I haven’t watched much of the videos. There are a lot parties … birthdays, anniversaries including my own. My sister-in-law had a surgery so we will have to travel to see her a few times.

    Ron and Gil’s anniversary is coming soon. I remember it well because we have the same anniversary date. Mine is 10 wonderful years …. Not! Grin
    The year Adam was born is the year we got married so it’s easy to remember … Heart Heart
    36 years … But 10 of them are wonderful!!! Grin Laugh

    Loved the review of O2 day 1 that luval posted from a long time Queen fan who dreamt of seeing Freddie live but didn’t get the chance.

    Lambert is a superb singer and I think it is a pity he seems almost forced to be (voluntarily) self-effacing at points in the set about his place and role in the band.

    He’s not Freddie; we all know he’s not Freddie. Nor is he trying to be. But whilst he handles the deferment to his predecessor so graciously, nevertheless he deserves recognition in his own right for what he brings to the possible future of Queen. He is his own man. He brings his own distinctive style, identity and nuances to the songs which is new, vibrant and exciting. Queen need this infusion of life, vitality and novelty if they are to carry on. Lambert fully deserves his rightful place at the front of the stage………. The show does go on: this really is Queen and one day I sincerely hope there will be a confidence on the part of everyone concerned, fans included, not to need the “+ Adam Lambert” as part of the show.

    I was wondering the same thing; if Adam will ever stop with the “You’re not Freddie” explanation.

    I really don’t think that it will ever be just Queen, and I don’t think that it should be. Adam is his own man with his own solo career. The + in Q+AL no longer denotes the status of a guest singer to the band rather the collaboration of Queen with an amazing singer in his own right.

    Love your comment, rs, and totally agree. QAL is a collaboration, and I don’t think that will change – they all seem very content with it. Especially Adam.
    I just shudder to think if he could have joined any other band – Zeppelin, Guns n’Roses with Slash – don’t think it would have lasted, nor could he display his talents like with Queen. And the personalities would never have clicked. Queen’s musicianship, work ethic, intelligence, varied catalogue is so far above any other!!!! They truly are gifts from God to each other!!!

    ETA: I think that is my fave review, well written and truly describes Adam’s gift and the situation.
