A very exciting past month for Adam – and for ALL of us, as well. Events from Chatty Man to Live Aid to Fallon to GMA to Trailblazers – and the interviews so numerous they became hard to keep track of. In addition, more beautiful photos including the stunning FAULT magazine with a more “uncovered” Adam than we’re used to seeing. Then, all through the later part of the month the watching for the Adds on radio/Spotify/Shazam/VH1, etc., and the resultant confusion about what should be done to make it happen.
Congrats to Adam for The Original High debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 albums sales chart. He may not have been number one but the album is getting good reviews and promotion is going well. The single, Ghost Town, is slowly moving up the HAC, CHR and AC charts. To top it all off, though, was the gay marriage ruling which must have given Adam, considering all he’s been through and all he’s done for the cause, immense gratification and happiness.
And onto July…summer may be vacation time for most but to Adam it will be more TV and radio promotion with some special performances thrown in – Splashion, The Trevor Project – and more.

The best thing to do for the Billboard charts is to purchase the individual GT Remix Tracks. On iTunes, make sure that you do not buy the whole EP – leave one track un-purchased. GT remix track sales count as GT sales and will count toward both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 (TEA’s).
I believe the track list will be the same as the UK release – 5 tracks:

Don’t worry about the CD chart, luval. The CD sales won’t pick up until/unless the singles work. It’s all about GT now and we are doing all the right things: streaming voting and listening.
According to fans who are watching, the July 4th week is a weird one for spins. And Friday’s release of remixes gives us a chance to add to GT’s sales, as long as we buy them in singles (and leave one of them unbought.)
Adam did get one ADD on the CHR chart – a Cumulus station (not yours unfortunately.) Adam is due for some more TV promo in the next 10 days and the song will be more recognizable to viewers.
ETA: TOH debuted higher in actual album sales than this week’s #2 – Miguel. Also, Jason D., Nate R. and Hilary D. are nowhere to be found in the Top 50 either.
If I buy four singles from iTunes and four singles from Amazon (include the one didn’t DL from iTunes), will that count as eight singles, TLKC? Or doesn’t work that way?

On Friday, July 10, various remixes of Adam Lambert’s hit, “Ghost Town” will be released for purchase and streaming! The songs will be available for individual purchase and through a remix EP (album).
remixes OUR BEST STRATEGY:
DO NOT BUY THE EP! If you do, that will count toward the Billboard 200 album chart only; the Remix EP is not going to make the chart. It’s a waste of our time and will not help “Ghost Town” at all.
BUY THE REMIXES INDIVUALLY – ALL BUT 1! Individual purchases of the remixes will count toward “Ghost Town” single purchases and help the song chart higher on the Billboard 100 chart. That is what we want – and it’s what is most important right now – to help “Ghost Town” go as far as it can! Radio looks at the Billboard 100 chart, so the higher the song goes the better!
The reason you don’t buy all the remixes individually from any one place (iTunes, Amazon, MyPlayDirect, etc.), is because if you buy ALL of the content of the EP separately, it will be automatically converted to 1 album/EP buy instead of the X single purchases that we want. So if you want all the different remixes, just switch the one you didn’t buy at the second merchant (iTunes, Amazon, MyPlayDirect, etc.).

Please don’t become discouraged by the slow pace at which ghost town is moving up the charts. If you think about it, it has been four years since Adam has had any chart presence at all. He has to be reintroduced to the American market almost as if he was a new artist. They say that the third single is the one that shows if an album has legs so don’t get down yet.
I love Adam and will continue to support him as best as I can. I still have never seen him in concert and I can’t monetarily support him but I’ll vote in all the polls and read all the articles and add to the hits at mjs. I have faith that people will eventually recognize his talent as we do and he will be a worldwide star. So there you go.
According to 411 The Music and Q3, ulti, each single track purchased will count as a purchase of “GT the single” as long as you don’t buy all of them. Buying all of them, even if you do it individually, will not help if you “complete the CD”. The sales will automatically track to the album chart and we don’t want that.
If you buy 4 individual remixes on iTunes, iTunes will report them as 4 singles. If you buy 4 individual remixes on Amazon, Amazon will report them as 4 singles. That is 8 singles.
Q3 and 411 have both researched this and they seem to agree.
luval – GT on Spotify is at 17,792,057, well on its way to becoming the most played AL song! It is second only to WWFM at 23,108,686! Hope this helps pep you up!!
luval, every week GT has been gaining Audience Impression in little increments, and getting close to that magic 10 mil on Top40 (CHR), now at 9.409. Spins have been increasing both in U.S. and Canada. I see more and more new comments on YTs and Twitter with unfamiliar names, so it’s spreading and they’re looking him up with great FAVORABLE comments. And Warner plans promo through year-end, they’re not asleep! The View, Late Late Show, two events down here next week, the Casino…it’s ongoing. And sooooo many FAVORABLE reviews worldwide plus good radio too. Holding about the same on US iTunes, slow and steady, not dropping.
Also, Tori Kelly had about same 2nd week drop as Adam, -77% and may drop out of Top 50 next week too. It’s a strange biz now but I think he’s holding his own. Warner is OUR GFG!

In addition to purchasing remixes, we can all Shazam GT on both The View and The Late, Late Show as well. It was so cool when I Shazamed the GMA performance. It not only identified the song; it told me that I was watching GT on GMA.

So I just got a tweet from my local 107.9 radio station “love what you picked! We’re playing Ghost town by @adamlambert because of you! Listen & vote”. Well I turned on my radio and there it was! I had tweeted them about 3 hours ago (the dj said “tweet me your request”) and I requested it from their playlist which I have been doing once a day. They haven’t played it in two weeks so this was a treat. Prime time too!
