A very exciting past month for Adam – and for ALL of us, as well. Events from Chatty Man to Live Aid to Fallon to GMA to Trailblazers – and the interviews so numerous they became hard to keep track of. In addition, more beautiful photos including the stunning FAULT magazine with a more “uncovered” Adam than we’re used to seeing. Then, all through the later part of the month the watching for the Adds on radio/Spotify/Shazam/VH1, etc., and the resultant confusion about what should be done to make it happen.

Congrats to Adam for The Original High debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 albums sales chart. He may not have been number one but the album is getting good reviews and promotion is going well. The single, Ghost Town, is slowly moving up the HAC, CHR and AC charts. To top it all off, though, was the gay marriage ruling which must have given Adam, considering all he’s been through and all he’s done for the cause, immense gratification and happiness.

And onto July…summer may be vacation time for most but to Adam it will be more TV and radio promotion with some special performances thrown in – Splashion, The Trevor Project – and more.

    Am watching VH1 top 20 countdown. Why is it that Tori Kelly has had 2 songs from her album released within 1 month of each other?

    GT coming up next…probably #16 where he was last week.

    yup..playing now, #16..better than falling off the chart but still want it in the top 10

    What are the names of the songs, luval? I don’t have access to VH1 and her discography only shows “Nobody Love”, which is on the way down and “Should’ve Been Us” which is current.

    Stats for “Nobody Love”:
    peaked at 60 on US Top 100;
    16 on Pop;
    35 on (not sure whether AC or HAC)
    Reached Gold in NZ

    July 13th Stats for “Should’ve Been Us”:

    Those are the exact two songs, TLKC. Shoulda Been Us is the one on the countdown show. I think number 17. She sang the other song on a couple of award shows. Guess it didn’t click with the public.

    “Nobody Love” came out in February, luval. It’s peak stats ended up pretty much where GT is now on HAC and could easily be in about 6 weeks on Pop, according to the adamtopia fans who are tracking it.

    “Should’ve Been Us” was released in June and is getting radio play, in part, because of her first single’s track record, which augurs well for Adam in terms of getting decent radio play on his next single. #Fingerscrossed

    But I wouldn’t worry too much about it Tori Kelly and SS are both under Capitol records label. Probably his label tweeting for him.

    Good point, glambotgram, SS is promoting label mates.

    Which begs the question: how much do you want to bet that Adam’s label would like him to stop complimenting singers on other labels?

    Both The Talk and James Corden’s Late late Show are on CBS. One would hope that the social media boost TLLS got from Adam’s WATC performance and mini-routine, would prompt The Talk to let Adam TALK.

    You just click on The little blue bird. To be honest with you, I don’t think it means a hell of a lot. In fact, I don’t understand how ALN is trending except by some sort of subterfuge, because it is not popping up with any great frequency on any Glambert twitter accounts that I follow.

    Either the label is promoting it towards the goal of making it the next single (it is listed first on the CD promo sticker) or the guys who wrote it are trending it in hopes that it will be. jmo.

    Because “Good For You” possesses a modest 74.1% familiarity rate and “Ghost Town” possesses a low 62.1% familiarity score, each song’s feedback scores could be subject to significant (and potentially negative) adjustments in the coming weeks.

    On the other hand, the relatively low familiarity bottlenecks each song’s ability to generate a high favorite score. That constraint will ease in the coming weeks.

    If I am reading this correctly, the negativity figures for Adam and Selena are based in part on the fact that not enough people recognize their songs (yet.) This could hurt them in the next little while but it doesn’t mean that their songs won’t resonate if they are heard more.

    This might be an explanation for GT’s stalled position on HAC – it hasn’t been heard enough for people to have a strong opinion of it either way. On pop the AI is now over 10, which, as riskylady pointed out a week ago, is the point where a song gets enough exposure to be recognized.

    That I don’t know, luval. Just guessing but we could tweet The Original High to @Billboard for a day and see if it gets on the Billboard twitter chart, at which point we could then start clicking that little blue bird for all it’s worth.

    For trending purposes, TOH is deeply disadvantaged over other songs on the CD because most of us have short-formed it to TOH. The other songs are still getting in-full spelling because they are less well-known. Additionally, the assumption by many would be that a TOH tweet is about the CD, not the song.

    The mystery of how a song gets onto BB’s twitter chart to begin with makes me think that BB may be working with artists and labels to post them in the first place. After that, of course, the public takes over and they rise and fall based on our actions.

    I was just looking at YouTube, and there are MANY more bastard full album YTs of TOH than just a couple for Tori Kelly’s album, plus MANY MORE bastard single songs, including some masquerading as “official.” And that’s true of ALL Adam’s songs and videos. I tried to explain to one poster why his video was bastard, and he just didn’t get it – said he legit bought the album and didn’t understand that he was “publishing” it.
    Also many Adam lyric videos. But BB doesn’t count any of these, although to me they would indicate an artist’s popularity too.
    Don’t know the effect on album/single purchases but there must be some.
    And nobody seems to care enough to clear them out.

    I am so sick of everything about the music industry…the manipulation, the thievery, the shit we have to go through to hear a song played, the PD’s at the radio stations……….I could go on & on. Smile

    All I care about now is that Adam will have a tour & that he continues with Queen before they decide to call it quits.

    In the meantime I’ll continue to post links to certain important voting situations. ROTFL

    I’m very excited about the Morongo Casino concert tonight and can’t wait to see which TOH songs Adam will be performing live for the first time. I’m also a big fan of The Light. Lucy is still my favorite, but I love so many other songs too. Most of the TOH songs have beautiful vocals which will be even more amazing live. (My chief complaint about Rumours is that Adam’s vocals are lost in the production.)
    Retjenny, firsttimerob, & glitterpatti, have a wonderful time tonight! I’m looking forward to your recaps.

    I loved Adam’s performances on the Late, Late Night Show. WATC was magnificent and so funny, and GT was the best ever. And those pants! Gasp! Many thanks to the camera man who provided us with that brief, but much appreciated, rear view.

    nkd– I saw your one year tribute to the QAL Philly concert. That was my favorite QAL show of all thanks to your amazing ticket buying skills, scoring seats in the splash zone in the first row in front of the thrust. That was also the first show in our four show marathon with various combinations of ALLers: Philly 7/16, NYC 7/17, Meriweather in Maryland 7/20, and East Rutherford, NJ 7/23. Such good memories! It’s hard to believe it’s been a year already. I’m really hoping for TOH tour and some QAL shows in 2016 so we can all get together again. (I’m greedy as usual where Adam is concerned!)

    Saw Britney Spears interviewed the other day. Interviewer asked her about the rumor of her being at Super Bowl halftime show. She says “Well, you never know”….giggling.

    So I guess hopes of Adam/QAL at the Super Bowl are once against crushed. But like Spears says “you never know”.

    The music industry is full of manipulations but the manipulation applies to everyone and it is at least reassuring to know that Adam has a good label and management team behind him.

    The big issue is the bastard YouTubes. A couple of them are in the hundreds of thousands. It’s hard to understand why they haven’t been taken down.

    The Talk’s Monday review ad focussed on Adam singing GT as well but Adam’s goal right now is to promote the song at every chance, so perhaps they are presenting his appearance that way. #FINGERSCROSSED that they chat with him a bit.

    Chris Colfer is there as well. He will surely say something nice about Adam but he has his work cut out for him; Sir Ian is a tough act to follow in the Adam-appreciation department. Devil
