A very exciting past month for Adam – and for ALL of us, as well. Events from Chatty Man to Live Aid to Fallon to GMA to Trailblazers – and the interviews so numerous they became hard to keep track of. In addition, more beautiful photos including the stunning FAULT magazine with a more “uncovered” Adam than we’re used to seeing. Then, all through the later part of the month the watching for the Adds on radio/Spotify/Shazam/VH1, etc., and the resultant confusion about what should be done to make it happen.

Congrats to Adam for The Original High debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 albums sales chart. He may not have been number one but the album is getting good reviews and promotion is going well. The single, Ghost Town, is slowly moving up the HAC, CHR and AC charts. To top it all off, though, was the gay marriage ruling which must have given Adam, considering all he’s been through and all he’s done for the cause, immense gratification and happiness.

And onto July…summer may be vacation time for most but to Adam it will be more TV and radio promotion with some special performances thrown in – Splashion, The Trevor Project – and more.

    Live Aid? 30 Years ago today???

    I remember it well. I had just woken from my nappy time, and mom changed my diaper, and gave me a bottle to drink, and we settled in and watched Freddie slay the world.

    Because, you know, I/ we are the same age as Adam. ** cough **

    Okay, I remember Live Aid so clearly, I remember what I was wearing, who was in the room, and being floored and gobsmacked at Freddie and Queen. July 13, 1985. Wow. And I remember that MTV replayed Freddie over and over after Live Aid as a highlight. And kept on playing it for years and years to come.

    Simply mesmerizing. Then I learned that Freddie was sick and was urged by the docs not to perform there, likely bronchitis , his voice was a tad rough at times and his pitch broke, however, still goes down as the best live rock performance of all time.

    Until QAL.IMHO.

    Tonight is one year after Toronto 1. Happy Anniversary to all of us ALL’ers who were together in Toronto.

    Is it just me or did adam not seem that overly thrilled to be there tonight? Maybe jet lag or would have preferred to be somewhere else with someone else. Smile

    I have so many wonderful memories of your being here and with so many others from this blog! All of the plans fell into place from people arriving safely from their trips, the dinner, the concert, the after party. It was perfect!

    Save for one slightly awkward moment. Laugh

    Remember rs?

    At the restaurant, before we were seated, all of us were happily sipping cocktails while awaiting and greeting everyone as they arrived in ones and pairs. Then, there she was! mils whom we’d never met. mils!!!

    I ran towards this woman as she approached our gathering with my arms stretched wide and then gave her a huge bear hug, rocked her back and forth (practically twirled her around), grabbed both of her hands and said, “FINALLY! Oh, it’s so wonderful to meet you”!!!

    She was grinning from ear to ear when I then asked, “How was the plane ride?” She answered, “What plane ride?”.

    Uh, oh. Turned out this woman wasn’t mils at all. She wasn’t even on this blog. She was a friend of a friend and lived here in Toronto. Laugh

    She later told her friend, who then told me, that she thought that I was the most wonderful, gregarious and friendliest person that she’d ever met. ROTFL

    I didn’t know that you were observing all of this rs because, when I turned around, you assumed it must be mils (based on the way I acted) and was greeting her in much the same way.

    I don’t remember (I should have that tattooed on my forehead) how I covered myself after “How was the plane ride?” but somehow I did. It was awkward for half a second but, in the end, kind of funny.

    Then the r.e.a.l. mils arrived and … the rest is history. Big Smile

    I’m up this early for my 8:00am appointment for a colonoscopy. If the doctor was out all night partying, this could be my last post.

    lol ron, thanks for reminding me of that awkward moment Laugh And when we did meet mils, I realized that I had seen her a short while before in the hotel and wondered if it was her, but didn’t stop to ask.

    Good luck with the colonoscopy today. They should give you something to make you drowsy and you won’t feel a thing.

    Forgive me, rs! I plead the lateness of the hour. I did not forget meeting you and I treasure the bracelet that you gave me. My only regret was not being able to stay for the entire evening but I had to balance being in Toronto with my family on vacation. So this year I’m home with my daughter helping to nurse her back to health after wisdom teeth extraction. Oh well, gives me plenty of time to relive my wonderful memories.
