A very exciting past month for Adam – and for ALL of us, as well. Events from Chatty Man to Live Aid to Fallon to GMA to Trailblazers – and the interviews so numerous they became hard to keep track of. In addition, more beautiful photos including the stunning FAULT magazine with a more “uncovered” Adam than we’re used to seeing. Then, all through the later part of the month the watching for the Adds on radio/Spotify/Shazam/VH1, etc., and the resultant confusion about what should be done to make it happen.

Congrats to Adam for The Original High debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 albums sales chart. He may not have been number one but the album is getting good reviews and promotion is going well. The single, Ghost Town, is slowly moving up the HAC, CHR and AC charts. To top it all off, though, was the gay marriage ruling which must have given Adam, considering all he’s been through and all he’s done for the cause, immense gratification and happiness.

And onto July…summer may be vacation time for most but to Adam it will be more TV and radio promotion with some special performances thrown in – Splashion, The Trevor Project – and more.

    Had a very busy weekend last weekend and a busy week at work. Plus one of my other passions is going on at the moment which is the Tour de France in cycling. So have been lurking a bit and catching up yesterday with all the posts.

    To cheer everybody up I have great news from the Netherlands: GT is now a top 10 hit on two charts!!

    Chart positions in the Netherlands! A little stall and drop, but gained some places in the top 40!!! High Five!

    NL Top 40: #8 (from #10)
    Mega Top 50: #7 (from #7)
    Single Top 100: #14 (from #11)
    iTunes Top 30: #7 (from #6)
    SlamFM 40: #2 for several weeks already

    GT beat WWFM on the Mega Top 50 and the Single Top 100 already. Now 1 spot more needed to equal WWFM best position on the NL Top 40 (which was #7)!

    GT should be close or maybe has reached Platinum status here in the Netherlands already. It need 30k sales for that, but streaming also counts. 100 streams is 1 sale. On Spotify only he has had at least 2 million streams already in the Netherlands which equals 20k single sales.

    Spent the afternoon at our Bastille Days festival, the “world’s largest festival outside of France celebrating French culture “. Okay. I don’t believe the hype, what about Toronto or Quebec? Anyways, I thought of you Kradamour, because they build a replica of the Eiffel Tower there every year,and I saw a gazillion fleur de lis. My friends had beignets, I abstained, and opted instead for a chicory coffee on ice. Yum. I first tasted it in New Orleans and chicory coffee is such a treat.

    One of my girlfriends just came home from a trip to NY and she had seen Hedwig with Darren Criss, and couldn’t stop raving about it. I told her that my celeb crush was offered the role, and turned it down. She said “who?”. I said Adam Lambert, and she just gasped and exclaimed, OMG, he would be PERFECT! Now, this made me happy on several levels, yes, he would have been perfect, and that she knew who he was!

    She wanted to know why he turned down such a plum role, I said because he was working on his new excellent album, and that he had a gig touring with and fronting a little rock band called Queen.Then, my other gal pal chimed in, yeah, I heard he killed it with them.

    Now, guys, these are newish friends, they don’t know of my fandom, and didn’t know until this afternoon that I had traveled to see QAL 3X. LOL, they know now.

    I may be gifting a CD or two to them soon. One of them said she loved him on Idol and that his career has been remarkable. The other one saw Hedwig and loved it. Yup. They’re gonna get some CD’s.

    She said Darren Criss was unbelivable.

    ETA: the gal who saw Hedwig is a huge music fan. She gets my obsession. She spent years as a Dead Head. Met her hubby at a show, and they traveled everywhere just to see them over and over again….

    Mils, that is actually true. Your BD celebration tops them all…one day I would love to attend.
    (Toronto? that is actually a very anglophone place…and Quebec celebrates on June 28, that is the Québécois national holiday).

    Alas, our event here was rained out. Broke my heart, it was going to be awesome and my new DIL came to visit for it. I chaired our event last year so I know exactly how much work went down the tubes. Wretched.

    Does Sound Cloud listens count towards anything? I don’t think I’ve heard that it does but I could be wrong.

    I’d say 99.9% of the comments during the song are great with a few who don’t like it and one that is from out in left field and can be easily dismissed.

    I’ve always preferred the sound quality on Sound Cloud when listening to audios on that site over YouTube. I think the sound is better.

    Its annoying like hell that we cant watch official vids of non-german artists on YouTube. WBR was so nice to upload the official GT lyric and music vid on their own channel so we can watch it. Still its so maddening.

    Catt: I wish that could’ve been a single. We thought that could’ve been an award show performance

    When we recorded Adam’s vocal on that, he stepped out in the middle of the song because he had to take a phone call. It was with VH1 – he was doing a Behind The Scenes with them. He came back in, and he was very upset. He saw the footage and for 45 minutes they wanted to talk about him being gay, and for five minutes they wanted to talk about his music.

    We all had this beautiful discussion about all of us, and him really sharing his vulnerabilities, and then he got back up to the microphone and sang that song. I truly think the world of that guy. He really was baring his soul that day, and when I listen to him sing that song, it just kills me. Kills me.

    After we did “Underneath,” Adam’s management told us, “If Adam didn’t enjoy the day, he’ll just say, ‘thank you guys.’ If he did enjoy the day, he’ll probably ask you to write.” And he asked us to write. So Robert said, “I have this one track, and Catt and I really love it and want to see what you think.” Well, he loved it, so we started writing on it. I could tell that he had some deep things that he wanted to say in his heart, so we let him run on a lot.

    About Kelly Clarkson: Adam & her both wanted the same song
    “I fell in love with her even more, because I thought, “She is that lyric.” I love her. And then Adam asked to write with us because of that. So then I went out to LA and not only did we get to write with him, we ended up co-producing his vocal. That voice is a force, and it was just a joy to work with him. I hope that he continues to be heard because he’s one of the most phenomenal male voices. He really is sort of Freddy Mercury reincarnated.”

    Well, don’t think I forgive Kelly’s ego for taking this song from Adam. To me, she doesn’t even sound believable, and shrieking a little on the higher sections. From what Catt said, in that article, a lyric was changed from “me” to “that” in the first line. And, don’t think it was any hit for her either.

    Can only take Kelly in small doses, riskylady – like her lower to mid range, but have always found her voice strained and without nuance in her upper one – don’t like this performance at all – almost a yell at one point there –
